...yeah, they're really not being subtle about knowing each other outside of this.
That's actually canon, if you consider Wildbow's PRT Quest canon.
He was Protectorate, too, actually. Not that I expect that to mean much to this fic
Well, it's subtle non-subtle. They are acting friendly to the point that they seem to know each other closely. Yet they haven't come out and said it yet either by actually saying it or by acting it. They are sorta walking the line, and even Taylor notices it. So we will have to see.
And thank you. Knowing that he actually did have a sense of humor makes it all the better for me.
Some of her powers could be naturally hers, just sleeping potential awoken by the presence of the Phoenix Force. For all we know, the human race as a whole was on the verge of psionic power, which could have made them attractive to the entities as hosts in the first place. They don't need the X-Gene, it's just that the majority of psionics we see in Marvel tend to be mutants, but maybe the Celestials decided to go with a different experiment here.
That's saying the Celestials even bother with this reality.
Have to agree with Auberan here. Taylor could have, without being a Mutant, had the potential to be a telepath or psionic naturally. Even if the actual appearance of such natural talents would be a few dozen generations away and wouldn't appear until Taylor's great, great, great, great-grandchildren.
The potential could still be there even if it was incredibly small.
