Firebird, a Worm AU/Xover?

So at one point Taylor mentions she gets headaches from overusing her precog, which makes fighting with it impractical. However, she also uses for the entire school day to avoid attacks without any trouble. How does that work?

I guess it could be short bursts, but the same would work for a fight (there's even a story with that power). It might be more intense, but if she can use it through an entire day, she should be able to use it for the few minutes most fights would last.

As far as i understand, her Power uses headaches to prevent her looking too far.

It can't be. I did a search for 'vulpine grin' and it didn't turn up 50 results. God I hate that line. I hate it so much.

But seriously... there was no mention to 'Vicky's' age (pretty sure she's older then Taylor) and Taylor would know the members of New Wave.

Hmm. Glad you mentioned that.

I will say conclusively(gasp) that that was not Lisa. Also. Yes. Taylor would know the members of New Wave.

"So I can use my precog to see just how badly I'm about to get my ass kicked. Sounds great."

Precognition is only so useful if you don't have any fighting skills to back it up. Do remember that Glimpse (in the story I think you're talking about) can spam it multiple times per second and has other minor powers that help as well, and she still ends up injured some.

Or maybe it's just that she would have to spam it in a fight, but with school it's spread out over the day.

...damn, you're just not cutting the girl any mental slack at all, are you?

To be specific, trying to look too far causes headaches/nosebleeds/the usual symptoms that psi-talents in the Marvel Universe get at first. Looking a few seconds/minutes ahead takes her absolutely no effort, though.

Primarily, in that moment, she was channeling a lot of Jean subconsciously. (Taylor wasn't ever much of a fashion-minded person that I can recall), so connecting 'Vicky' to Victoria Dallon/Glory Girl got a remark of "Huh, she looks familiar... but New Wave means all of nothing to Jean.)

So at the moment Taylor's precognition is at the level of Nicholas Cage in Next? Infinite possibilities of the next 3 minutes?

Yeah, now I'm curious about Armsmaster's tragic backstory...
I expect that was the point of Armsies bit.

We actually know very little about the past of a fairly important character, and somehow this is the first story I can think of that explores whatever trauma he might have in his past, including snips on the idea thread.

My first thought was that Emma rubbed off on her more than she cared to admit.

Numbering.

He doesn't believe in parties.

Not quite, I personally believe. Contessa PtV's for the most Epic, Awesome Party in all of Space-Time and Numberman is handling the budget. They aren't doing half-measures here. They are going for the party that will end all parties everywhere. The ULTIMATE PARTY. A party singularity if you will.

And Numberman has to balance the budget to make sure it goes off without a hitch.

That is also possible. Body-envy is a thing(and I do seem to recall Taylor having a touch of that)
Probably a bit of both. Jean's influence is clear, but Taylor was best friends with a model. You don't get that close if you don't share some interests, and you don't spend that much time together without picking some things up. And in canon Taylor was able to design and produce a really professional looking costume. That takes more than raw materials.

Even if she accidentally produced a highly professional looking Villains costume, she did produce a high-quality one. So Burn has a good point. Even if she wasn't the girly-girl that Emma was she was bound to pick up something somewhere.

As for the Jean Grey costumes she was scetching out, here's a sort of reference picture to them, and the different costumes Jean Grey has worn both as a Mutant and as the Phoenix.

Something to note is that only the top row which is early generation designs have masks. And all the masks except for the second generation X-Factor design look horrible.

And that doesn't even cover how utterly stupid her Marvel Girl mask with that dress looked. Completely and utterly stupid.

ETA: Kind of partial to the one in the lower left though, shame it doesn't have a mask.

We got two costumes that have gimp-hoods, one with a mask that like you said is just stupid. The only good one is the domino mask on the second generation X-Factor.

Bottom left....?

Ah, the punky, short-haired one. That one is pretty neat.

I like bottom righty.

Hmm. Pretty casual looking that one. Sorta biker-chick vibe with that one.

Wow, thanks for that.

If we get to vote, I'm going to the bottom middle. But I'd assume Chibipoe has already got a look picked out.

Happy too.

Bottom middle is....

That's the live-action movie one where Jean Grey went nuts with a bit of Phoenix Force if I remember right.
