I say that the QM could write the story however he pleases especially since this is a crossover. Seriously Shirou has a daemon Primarch prince inside his soul from another reality where people could literally warp reality to their whims. Saying have to followe everything from a franchise is just ridiculous at this point. Should also point out that Shirou is extremely abnormal what with having three origins and elements with two of them being the same and another two working with reality warping.

Well let the Qm decide that but hopefully the Qm will still let him trace

Why is this even a vote? Being able to trace NPs would be a huge advantage for us and not picking it would be needlessly handicapping ourselves.

But I don't think we should get it automatically like Vanilla Shirou, since our origin is knowledge it should be something we can achieve via our research abilities.

That's a just a fact of being a research based character, even if we have tons of things automatically available there's always gonna be more stuff than we have time for. At least this fits thematically.

I'd rather it be an option we'd have to work to get, it's one of the things about Shirou in fanfics and quests that's annoyed me for awhile. If you change his upbringing you have to accept that it changes what he can do, his ability to Trace Noble Phantasm was a 1 in a million chance ability that he got due to his unique circumstances and practicing Structural Analysis/Projection over and over and over again.

If you want him to have if that's fine but he should get it for a reason, it was decided that this Shirou would be a researcher primarily with the assumption that he could pull off ridiculousness because of how good he is at research/understanding stuff and he has a Noble Phantasm inside him. Boom! Research option unlocked!

For a normal magus it'd probably be impossible, but we've got Magnus around to help. So it's not impossible, but it's going to take a hell of a lot more work.

Plus it's more interesting narratively.

Though it'll probably take a lot of stretching to explain why this Shirou can trace noble phantasms.

Originally it was because of the combination of Element: Sword, Origin: Sword, extremely heavy practice of Structural Analysis and botching Projection. All in all a one in a billion shot.

How the hell is whatever our element/origin is suited for recreating noble phantasms.
