Taylor didn't have to wear mittens this time.
It was heading towards the end of February and the cold wasn't quite as biting as it was a week ago.
Or at least there was less of a wind today. Either or.
Sadly, that meant there was the dreaded part of living in New England cities; slush. Dark slush flecked everything that, spreading like a four year old with glitter.
Nasty stuff.
Maybe that was why there was distinct air of… something in the air. She couldn't quite tell what it was; the misery of slush was a pretty big downer but it seemed to her that people were being particularly hurried around her, picking up their pace. Keeping their eyes towards the ground.
It sent a cold shiver down her spine. The next Endbringer attack was… soon.
Behemoth had attacked in November and it had been more than three months.
In a way, for as long as Taylor could remember, Endbringers were just another type of natural disaster. There was a time a few years before she had been born where they hadn't existed but that time was no longer.
You prayed that they didn't decide on where you lived and went about your day. That was really all you could do against monsters of that caliber.
Still, Taylor looked at the bus routes as she tried to plan out where she was going to patrol next.
