Fate/In Glory Of (Worm)

[X] ...got involved. Send the giant.

Yeah, pulp his ass!

…I mean uh, non-lethally apprehend the criminal.

[X] ...didn't get involved. This was too little to get the giant involved in.

There's Parian and Limbmaster nearby to help. Sending Herc is too risky. Too many people may get caught in the collateral, and you can't spell "Berserker Hercules" without the collateral damage to the surroundings lol.

Plus Taylor could observe how other capes safely take down criminals without maiming them or worse.

A stuffed animal was actually in her price range… though she didn't have much interest in one for herself. Rather as a gift. A bit of a pricey gift, but one she could afford. It was nowhere near the cost of a new cellphone, but it was a small bit of appreciation for Nikki easily spending a grand on her.
...The phone wasn't that expensive, was it?
As someone who never read Worm, I didn't know they had combat abilities.
Parian's dolls, the ones she actively controls, can be very surprisingly durable. Parian also uses individual threads, which can very effective on their own.

Again, it's maybe a disappointing choice, but I'm really worried that we lack a certain control over Herc and I don't want a smashed petty thief on our hands, let alone accidentally destroying the thing that someone stole. There's also nothing like intervening in a problem and making it 10x worse. All that said, I don't think that Parian or Limbmaster will intervene either, Parian in canon doesn't want to be a Hero, so she might not want to step in.

Rip, atm voting is 7 vs 4, in favor of not sending Heracles. All the votes on SB are for being boring :(

Edit:

As someone who never read Worm, I didn't know they had combat abilities.

Everyone in worm have combat abilities. Be they physical combat or mental combat. The series is practically built for fights. And even if both don't have any combat abilities, they can restrain just fine.

Temporary Update for 03.06.04
Unless there is any significant voting upsets, Taylor is going to do a Thing(tm).

I'm posting this because the last week has kinda been terrible for my free time and the next week is even worse. Week after that is fine though. I'm not dead or putting this on hiatus or anything; it's just hard to write when I'm physically away from my computer! Grumble grumble grumble.

[X] ...got involved. Send the giant.

"Block their way." Taylor whispered.

It was always something of a crapshoot in her mind if the giant would actually hear her; it felt silly that whispering something would get a quarter ton of muscle and meat to move faster than a car.

Yet it worked.

The giant, in that unexplainable sense that Taylor, had moved ahead of the thief and stood in front of him.

The muscle tensed.

The figure ran into a solid charcoal grey slab of muscles that hadn't been there before, landing on his ass. He looked up at, trying to figure out what had just happened.

A glowing red eye stared down at the man as if he was an insect.

A detached part of Taylor watched as it spread, like a wave, outwards from where he appeared- the looks of concern, fear, awe… they multiplied as bacteria did. A physical example of a plague in real time.

All stood silent, the sounds of the city slowly dimming in the background. The predominate sound was of the slow, long, exhale and inhale of the giant, as it stared down at the thief.

There was an anger, a wroth, that was hard to comprehend given its nature.

The spread reached critical mass.

Someone started to reach for their phone.

The thief started to run back, screaming he gave up.

Parents pulled their children away.

Doors closed. Windows shuts.

The sound of traffic resumed.

The muscle untensed.

Just like that, the giant was gone.

Taylor decided to…

[] ...stick around to see what the response was like to something parahuman happening. Specifically her power happening.
[] ...kept on her patrol. [Final encounter table roll]
[] ...went home.

Author's Note: I live! Apologies, real life put me several thousand miles away from my PC. It was rather hard to type when that far away. I'm back now!

So Herc just popped into existence in front of the thief, the thief gave up and ran away, and then Herc just faded away again? Well that's one way to stop a criminal. Might have even scared him straight. It would take a dedicated or desperate man to continue being a criminal after literally running headfirst into Herakles in a dark alley.

[X] ...stick around to see what the response was like to something parahuman happening. Specifically her power happening.

Might as well see things from this perspective.

Always pick the most fun option.

Panic at a minimum might as well hang out and tell folks about the Giant that randomly appeared. was cool yas would appear again
