[Exalted, ?] Most High

[X] Negotiations
-[X] Concession B: You will be able to tell select people who you trust (Zao, Pearl, Moon) about the Infernals.
-[X] Concession S: Ayala will agree to perform one Sorcerous Working for you, at a cost. Terrestrial Workings of Ambition 2 or less can be performed for Resources 3, you provide any needed materials. Celestial Workings of Ambition 2 or less can be performed for Resources 4, with the same conditions.
-[X] Reciprocal exchange of services: Assistance with assassinations on a one-to-one, unique services (Prophet of Seventeen Cycles/Sorcery), intelligence on threats to Creation.

There's a benefit to going for the limit break option I hadn't considered. Actual hard information on what Ulyssian's limit break IS and what he's like while he's caught up in its throes. From a meta standpoint that's really useful info to have, and learning it at this juncture could be invaluable. Or it might not be, sorta depends on the nature of the Limit Break doesn't it?

I mean, it could turn out disastrously when you're surrounded by hundreds of Dragon-Blooded luminaries and their insanely powerful contestants. Limit Breaking at the Academy could be bad, but it would likely be MUCH safer.

-[X] Concession B: You will be able to tell select people who you trust (Zao, Pearl, Moon) about the Infernals.
-[X] Concession Write-in: Info dump. The Yozi and the Neverborn, Deathlord plots and the current Infernal agendas (including what Ayala and Ling hope to accomplish here), to the best of Ayala and Ling's knowledge.

I do hope that the Negotiation/Not good enough vote will be counted before the suboptions are differentiated, otherwise anyone voting for concession will have to put together a slate that most people can compromise on. As for my options we need to let Zao know, and Sorcery is fairly powerful and, more importantly, not easily accessed by us at the moment.

Well from Rihaku's comments it sounds like "emotions are gone in favor of cold logic" and "kill things that get in our way"

I don't get why you guys want Limit Break, we'll lose control and since we're flashing our caste mark, good bye Disguise, we'll be revealed as Solar Anathema, the Civil War is delayed in favour of punishing Zao and his faction.
I'm pretty sure Odyssial's Limit Break doesn't make you do something as suboptimal as forget you're flaring your Anima.
The issue with attacking them is less that the Limit Break would turn Uly stupid and more that it's a very risky fight, that we need five minutes to disguise ourselves again and that Uly might decide on doing something horrifying to somehow kick the Civil War off with momentum on our side after all or do something similarly heartless afterwards.

Yes, of course.

One consideration: If you guys are intending to eventually get Sorcery, Fei Ling's aid could be more important than Ayala's. Also, Fei Ling can possibly be turned by Nilul - though Nilul can turn almost anyone, if you give her time. Only someone like Odyssial would be able to resist...

I figured Fei Ling's help with assassinating, say, Anys Syn, could be negotiated for on a one-to-one basis. She helps us kill our Sidereal, we help her kill Mnemon, that sort of thing. We don't know we have a need for assassinating someone right now, but it's an understanding we could set up for future use.

Being oath-bound to reciprocate her favor when she's already done one for you, of course, could be a sticky situation... you'd almost certainly want to define the targets in advance, if you did that.

Hm. I originally planned on today's update being much shorter, and running a second update tonight - if we can come to an consensus quickly, I'll shoot for possibly later tonight or earlier tomorrow, since it's the weekend.

The next update will be from Anys Syn's perspective, unless you die!

She's not happy that we killed Polemagos isn't she?

Well more like, let's stay in touch and negotiate further "favors" as-needed or desired. Odyssial can lay out some examples of stuff he can do for them like PoSC, so it isn't just straight "kill for a kill, spell for jade," and etc.

Hm... Ayala is less amenable to that degree of prolonged contact, but as long as you don't ask for anything for free (just money is considered 'free' by her), that might be okay. You wouldn't be able to trade her money for the CCW in that case, though, it'd have to be a favor...

Not because she might be a reincarnation, but because allies are good, even such dubious ones as these. Creation Needs Solaroids after all. Though I am entirely onboard with the faction that thinks Ayala has some kind of charm or spell that's provoking the reaction she's getting.

And then Anys Syn is going to be able to exploit Moon as bloodmare easily!!!
I guess.
The Bloodmare sounds like an awesome sorcerous working. Or an all-girl metal band. Folk metal I guess, since Moon would be headlining.

If you guys are interested, Ambition does have an Evocation that lets you apply Phoenix Renewal Tactic (x2) against any and all Psyche effects... You'd have to buy PRT (x2), but it's a strong Charm, giving you defense against any and all warping / twisting / shaping effects with no clear defense, like Wyld mutation or Pattern Spider Bite. It's expensive to use against Wyld mutation at the x1 version, but the x2 version is free and actually gives you Willpower.

I'll be for buying that once we have time.

Btw, Psyche effects are "mind control" magic, not just social influence in general, so it wouldn't protect you from, say, Nilul's dialogue.

Having two psuedo allies we might be able to turn is worth some risk. Also we don't really need to turn them fully we just need to convince them to pursue their goals in a way that doesn't fuck with ours too much. At his point we want creation stabilized and the realm under our control. We know that by a year from now Ayala had already come to the conclusion on her own that they needed to save creation before even starting on releasing the Yozi. If she realizes the same thing soon then she can be an ally in truth for the short and medium term which gives us plenty of time to turn her before she gets around to plotting to free the Yozi.

Also if we can get strong enough to rival our former incarnation we can present the argument that the Yozi are safer where they are because we won't kill them when they aren't in creation.

Your previous incarnation at what point? I think this quest will end before you hit the power level of High First Age Odyssial, due to the simple reason that Creation at this point can't handle High First Age Odyssial + Lea + Fairest anymore. The Lathe of Heaven will just happen.

I do like how if an argument comes up about "Social Charms are Mindcontrol!" you can just say, "Well maybe if you have a strange paradigm they might seem that way to you, but the book literally says which charms are mindcontrol."

UMI / NI was the governing distinction in 2E, though Psyche is considerably stronger a standard than UMI. Psyche lets you do stuff like sell water to a well, sell fire in hell (or, more practically, sell a box of scraps for a kingdom). It also lets you alter memories AND make those memories supernaturally reinforced against attempts to dispute them, or straight up hypnotically mind control people.
