[Exalted, ?] Most High

Well, during the Reaction I mentioned a few arguments that amy help with Persuasion, so I'll just repeat them here for psoterity. (Mainly because it's been so long since we actually discussed convincing him through regular means that I have no idea whether they were already mentioend.)

1. Moon can't deceive Elder Dynasts/Siddies.
- How would they get on the campus and to talk with Moon privately? Isn't Zao using his wind bullshit to supervise everything simultaneously?
Hmm. Zao might be busy with something. Or they might use some sort of political leverage to force him into compliance. Perhaps constantly shielding her from such inquiries would be too costly?

2. Celestial Exalted assassins that kill her in the crossfire.
- There aren't that many of them, precaustions can probably be made and to be honest from a very rational perspective (which Zao is pretending he's taking) if she takes a blow for the only one who can save Creation that's basically a good thing?
Well, I can understand that she'd be a hindrance for the time being, but the point is that after a certain point she even more than any canon fodder DBs would be an asset supporting our odds of survival even if being there at all puts her in danger personally, so there's a lot to be said for just taking enough precautions to tide her over until then, which in turn might give Uly more clues to Zao's secret motivations.
Ah, but who'd be taking a blow for whom? I certainly don't think that Ulyssian would let Moon get hurt because of him, not if he can help it. If we show obvious care for her, she'll be used to target us more easily.

3. She'd have to run with Uly, if Uly has to run.
- Doesn't she have just as few other friends as Uly, one of which is Nilul, the other Anathema, and isn't Uly one of the only things that actually lived up to her dreasm about the Realm?
And wouldn't she be doing much more good assisting the biggest cahnce to save Creation as opposed to being a Lost Egg with little chance of social advancement?
Just endeavor to take Ivory and Nilul with us if we leave and there's a pretty good chance that being on the run with Uly would make her happier and more useful than breaking her heart as brutaly as we possibly could.
This, I somewhat agree with. I don't like taking this choice away from her, but if she's alright with it anyway, maybe it's not so bad.

Uly gets to defend himself with a bespoke Artifact N/A as opposed to a random Artifact 4.
A random Artifact 4 is still an incredible legend capable of remarkable power. But yes, that would be safest for us, though I do not think Ulyssian prioritizes his own safety over Moon's. This is the man who just leaped in front of the capstone Charm of the Fire Dragon Style, after all.

While you hold Ambition, everything you do is bent towards Odyssial's ultimate goals. Normally, that means what you said. With Zao, he might swing it so that killing us in some elaborate way advances things towards those goals more quickly.

We're reincarnating anyway, so it's not a big deal, right?
That is stupid paranoia. You are being an idiot. I would bet vast amounts of money that Kejack Chejop pre-wracking could not manage that feat.

Let's not forget Beman and Hero either, Ulyssian is not the type to prioritize his safety over that of his friends.

It's not like our options are "give her ambition" vs "give her no defenses". There's nothing saying that we can't find another artifact, one with less of a notable side effect, to help her.

For those voting for telling her that you're Anathema, do you prefer that over giving her the sword?

For those of you voting for telling her you're a DB, do you prefer that over not giving her the sword?

DB here, I... uh, I guess I'll vote for

[X] Do not give her Ambition

Basically, I now wonder: How would Zao justify giving an N/A Artifact to Moon?
If he can't, then he'll just use it himself. And become the Optimised Dragon Shogun of Air (TM)

Also, I do not think it's doable to focus so much on the waifu. Odyssial had 3 women on him anyway. He had experience. Retreat for a while, but explain to her.

Quick, pass the brain bleach!

Ambition allows non-Ulyssian wielders to access a Sidereal Martial Art centering around his themes.

Not exactly around his themes, but... pretty close. The Star-Crown of Morning is more about the King Odyssial wished he could have been, and his advisers. If the world had permitted it, and if his heart had. Not the Dawn, but something kinder - the Morning crowned by the stars.

I can't be the only one that thinks this sounds astonishingly appropriate for Moon.

I'm sure Moon would be grateful for one, then.

What's the point of playing a quest where the MC isn't the priority? I'm sure if you got unanimous consent from the playerbase Rihaku would be willing to switch protagonists, if Moon's that essential.

I am going to update the XP soon. Unrelatedly - So, the truth side values the truth more than giving her the sword, is that more or less correct?

In literally the next sentence:
If it has a longer term goal, it will change the nature of Evocations offered.
*sigh*
Please consider everything Rihaku said on the matter. It works for Odyssial's goals, yes. It will work against its wielder if he contradicts them.
Logically, if the wielder is good enough (and it looks like Captain Planet is), they can either subvert it or find a path that it finds acceptable despite diminishing Odyssial's short-term gains (like his current life).
