Turn 9: Tourneys what are they good for anyway
[X] Luotuo
-[X] Action: Tournemant prep mission train the red dew technique with fellow disciples.
-[X] [Organ] Spirit: Iron-> Silver
-[X] Use Passionate Heart(clay) for 2 qi

Luotuo sat cross-legged in his small quarters, the mission scroll for the Tournament Training mission cradled in his hands. He squinted at the words, trying to decipher their meaning. "Tournament... Training..." he muttered, scratching his head. The concept of a tournament eluded him, but if the elders made it a mission, it gotta be important!

With a determined nod, Luotuo rose from his spot and made his way to the training grounds, where the pavilions and halls awaited the disciples' practice. As he entered, he marveled at the array of equipment laid out before him—dummies, pill furnaces, kitchen utensils, and more. It was a veritable playground for the aspiring cultivator.

Surveying the scene, Luotuo spotted some more experienced disciples offering guidance to their peers. They seemed to know what they were doing, their movements fluid and purposeful. "Maybe they can help me figure this out," he thought optimistically, noticing how they scribbled notes on pieces of paper as they practiced.

Approaching one of the Senior Disciples, Luotuo cleared his throat nervously. "Um, excuse me," he began, "I'm looking to learn something called the Red Dew Technique. Do you know where I can find it?"

The Senior regarded him with a smile. "Ah, the Red Dew School of Techniques," he replied. "It's more of a set of techniques, meant to give you a foundation in many of the things a cultivator needs. You'll find the instructions over there," he gestured towards a nearby table piled high with freshly copied scrolls and texts, surrounded by a group of engaged disciples discussing their contents.

"Thank you!" Luotuo exclaimed, grateful for the guidance. He hurried over to the table and sifted through the scrolls until he found the one labeled "Red Dew Technique," not noticing the Senior discreetly taking a few spirit stones from a fellow disciple who seemed to have lost some sort of bet. With eager anticipation, he unfurled the scroll and began to read, his brow furrowed in concentration.

As he delved into the intricacies of the technique, Luotuo found himself lost in its teachings. The words danced before his eyes, each stroke of the brush revealing new insights into the art of cultivation. Despite his initial confusion, he felt a sense of clarity wash over him—a newfound understanding of the path he was destined to walk.

Hours passed in a blur as Luotuo absorbed the wisdom of the Red Dew Technique. By the time he emerged from his studies, he felt invigorated, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. With renewed determination, he set out to put his newfound knowledge into practice, eager to prove himself in the upcoming tournament.

But whatever that was anyway... Maybe he should ask that one funny looking elder who stared at him from time to time? He seemed smart enough to explain it.

Those disciples who best manage to impress (or bribe) Elder Nianzu, your elder of enlightenment shall invite you to an exclusive lesson wherein he will help each of you bring a single technique to the perfected grade.

Currently Luotuo ( @moon-llama ) shall receive a spot in this lesson. 5 Slots remain.

(Terms and conditions may apply. This still costs the standard 50 merit points of an elder lecture. Elder Nianzu is not responsible for possible disfigurement, heart demons or the crippling of your spirit root. Elder Nianzu is an associate of Red Baron's brewing a family company but does not represent the organization except for those times he does.)

Would this one offering to become a test subject for your next experiment be a sufficient bribe?

I already got another Honored Elder to promise one on one lessons.
So I don't need this, but I still want it. I offer power beyond your wildest imaginatings(catgirl homunculi).

Tournament Training (Gan Jia really ought to train Forest to Table. They wanted to have it ready in time for this wedding banquet, but the fates sadly didn't align. They still want to develop their dream weed recipes, though.)
Changing my action so I can afford a lecture. Meditating on gardening feels like it'd be even more effective after an elder helps me perfect my gardening technique.

After the next month, I think that Pan Tingfeng would be able to create ~5 Iron Meals per corpse, also takes 6 turns to use the entire corpse.
Okay, my proposal:
- I'm currently at 3/9 Heart and I advance at +2 progress turn due to Iron Spirit + Red Dew Technique. Meaning that I'll finish tempering in 3 turns.
- Then I'll have stomach, 10 progress with a normal advance of 2.5 progress (Silver Spirit + Red Dew Technique). Meaning that it will be done in 4 turns.
- If I use an Iron Meal each turn, I'll advance with 3.5 progress/turn for heart. 7 progress in two turns, with one carry over to stomach. That would count for 2 Iron Meals.
- To complete Stomach using Iron Meals, with an advancement of 4 progress/turn, it will require 3 turns with excess waste. If I do 2 turns (8 progress) + one without Iron Meals, I'll end just fine.

So, in total, to complete my Cultivation I just require four Iron Meals. Here's my deal:
I give you my 5 corpses, you give me four Iron Meals. When you are done processing them, I'll take 12 Meals, but already accounting for the 4 consumed four.

So, my proposal:
You give me four Iron Meals and once you are done with butchering the corpses, I'll get the remaining 8. Sounds good? You should net a profit of 13 Iron Meals. I'll probably sell mine to disciples.

What do you think?

Tunr 9: Jiang Chen Omake
Jiang Chen Omake
Clang goes the sword as its cutting edge collides with another clang clang clang. Jiang Chen feels sweat trickle down his brow as he trains, exchanging pointers with a fellow disciple. Clang! Sensing opportunity, Jiang Chens blade strikes forward, his calculations revealing his opponents blade to be just a fraction of a centimetre out of place, and vulnerable to a disarmament, but as his sword moves faster than a serpent - thwung! - Jiang Chen finds himself disarmed. A feint, and one he fell for handily. How frustrating.

Jiang Chen's opponent, a Senior Disciple who he cannot remember the name of, attempts to congratulate Jiang Chen on his skill, after all, few of his generation of Disciples are so adept with a blade, and many of those are dependant more on brute force than true skill, but Jiang Chen simply ignores him as he reclaims his training weapon, and starts looking for his next match with a hungry gaze.

For all his technical skill, Jiang Chen has come to realise that his ability to read his opponents is abysmal. He sees the way they move, the way they stand, and he feels the calculations fly through his mind, but he simply cannot predict what the more skilled of his opponents are about to do before they act. The first answer to his problem, obviously, is faster calculations, hone his mind to match the great speed of their bodies, but that feels both as if he is missing the forest for the trees, and that he is wasting the opportunity to learn a valuable skill.

His opponents... they are not much stronger than him, physically, for the most part, their tricks and evasion more a product of technique and cunning than raw might. What is throwing him off is that they do not move until they intend to strike, their is a certain instantaneous nature between the moment they decide to act, and the moment they do so. It makes it hard for him to complete his calculations in time, but... what if... what if he predicts the calculations beforehand? Though certainly capable, most of his foes continue to wield the same techniques, if Jiang Chen simply memorises the calculations for them beforehand, then he could... if not predict them beforehand, at least use the reference to speed up his calculations? He would need to put it into practice, he decided, after all, the tournament was almost upon the Sect.
