Please write your action in this format. You no longer need to list any attributes, techniques, or artifacts that you are using. As they will be taken into account automatically. However you can still choose to spend Qi.

[X] Disciple Name
-[X] Action: Description of Action
--[X] [Qi] Qi Used (Optional)
-[X] [Elixir] Whether you are using an elixir to cultivate
-[X] [Organ] If you have tempered a new organ, then select the attribute you improved.

I'm not putting a time limit on the action this time. But I'll try to get it done by the weekend. So get your actions in by Friday. If I don't get your action by that time then your character will simply train their cultivation.

Turn 8: The Mugging
The Mugging

Famine (Known as Cai Delan when he wasn't doing something shady) fidgeted as he crouched in the shoulder high wheat waiting for their target to reach the bottom of the gentle slope.

Their target was a tall guy not much older than Famine himself was with long uncombed hair that seemed to be more a result of a lack of time than anything else. He carried a pair of hammers at his waist and was reading an obviously old and well used manual as he went on his dawn run, just like he had every day since they'd begun following him.

He forced down the nerves that alway began to surface before he did anything important and reviewed the plan one final time.

First, he and Pestilence would leap out of the wheat to ambush their target as he ran by, then once him and his dog had been distracted, War who had hidden a bit higher up on the slope would rush their target from behind and overwhelm him with superior cultivation. Or failing that they'd use his pet as a hostage, then they'd-

Famine was distracted from his thoughts when he saw their target slow down, his heart beat quickened, that certainly hadn't happened when they'd watched him through that cheap spyglass Death had 'found' when they first arrived.

As he considered whether or not to signal a retreat and try again another day Pestilence whispered something that ended that train of thought immediately. "Wait, where did his dog go?"

The question had barely been asked when the world answered as the hidden beast's deafening howl mixed with a yell of alarm from War, who leapt from the cover of wheat field and into the open road, trailing blood from a nasty bite on his arm.

"I'm not blaming anyone." he said as he tried to halt the flow of blood with a bit of his robe. "I feel like we might have made a small mistake when we forgot that dogs can smell way better than humans can."

Famine and Pestilence both followed their wounded ally, fearing another ambush just in time to watch their target charge down the hill, both hammers drawn and a violent battlecry on his lips.

Making use of the truly deep insight that characterized him Famine realized that things weren't exactly going to plan, in response he grabbed the mental cord that represented his technique, charged it with Qi and gave a brief yank.

(The dog is still concealed in the field/wounds consistent with obsidian/caught him by surprise/didn't press the advantage once he got in the open/probably can't take him out in the open/could potentially b-) The visions never got any less uncomfortable but at this point it was a simple matter to ignore their unpleasantness and begin belting out orders in his best impression of authoritative leadership.

He pointed at War "You. keep the dog off our backs, if it manages to pull of another ambush things are going to get really bad." He then pointed at Pestilence, "You. The two of us are going to have to beat this guy without the element of surprise, we'll try and flank him from two sides."

'No names' he reminded himself, their target unfortunately had to live and according to the old stories even an alias could be used to do horrible things in the hands of an experienced cultivator. With that bright and cheerful thought in the forefront of his mind he and Pestilence turned to meet their target as he charged into their midst.

They both nearly died in the first five seconds, Famine was forced to backpedal frantically to avoid a flurry of strikes and one spectacularly skilled blow slipped past the Pestilence's guard only to glance off his breastplate in a stroke of sheer luck, in response to this near miss he stepped inside of the hammer wielder's guard and kicked him in his unprotected chest drawing a gasp of pain and sending the man flying several feet backwards.

After that the two began to adapt to their foe's fighting style, relying on their greater reach and the weight of numbers to counteract his undeniably superior skill and began to slowly push him back up the hill, inflicting a number of small cuts as they pressed their advantage.

Then, without warning their hammer wielding foe lunged forward with fearless agility and as his feet hit the ground it roared and shook, causing the two of them to stumble as their foe exploited it mercilessly, a hammer struck Pestilence's helmet with a sound like a bell knocking the Horseman into the dirt hut before his assailant could land a decisive blow Famine dropped his sword and tackled him.

This turned out to be a spectacularly poor decision. Although he succeeded in grabbing the hammer that had been about to smash Pestilence's head in the second hammer struck him in the chest with a flash of Qi and a sound like an avalanche.

Famine came to in a small crater few seconds later and some ten feet away from the road and a quick breath told him that he'd definitely broken at least a few ribs, dazedly he looked over at War's fight against the dog, while War had gained another nasty looking bite on his thigh the horse sized beast had been wrestled to the ground and was being walloped into unconsciousness with a rock.

Since he seemed to have won that fight Famine looked over at Pestilence's fight as he shakily got to his feet.

In the seconds after Famine's forceful relocation Pestilence had picked up both blades of the ground and began another frantic back and forth as the increasingly desperate warrior tried to help his hound, each flash of blades was followed by a spray of crimson and each of those was met with a furious strike that might have been mistaken for a ringing bell if not for the sickening crunch that followed them, forging an agonizing symphony as Famine pulled himself to his feet and began to charge back into the fight.

He grabbed the hammer wielding menace from behind and forced him into a chokehold that lasted for perhaps an instant before he was violently reintroduced to the dirt by a well aimed elbow to the throat and rolled down the hill as he dodged a skull crushing hammer blow. However, that blow left him exposed, his eyes widened in fear as Pestilence's blades descended upon him.

Then the facade faded, leaving behind nothing but smug triumph on his face as his foot hit the road with a rumbling boom spreading tremors across the hill and knocking Pestilence off balance, opening himself up to a pair of crushing blows to the chest that left him gasping on the ground through a crushed chest.

As he stood over their brutalized but not quite crippled bodies the disciple of the Jade Claw began to monologue while he caught his breath. "What was the point of all this? Were you really that desperate that you'd try to mug a disciple of the Jade Claw?" When that got no response other than pained groaning he stalked over to Famine and lifted one of his hammers into the air. "Ok, I'm going to smash your head in before you stand back up again and then I'm going to do the same to that a-"
The sword coin struck him right in the eye with a nauseating squelching noise and his scream was interrupted when War tackled him, grabbing one of his hammers and throwing it away before sweeping his legs out from under him.

In a fit of pure desperation the Jade Claw disciple pulled back his fist as once more it shown with the light of Qi.

Instead of dodging that wild haymaker War instead chose to block it with his palm and gasped in pain as the power of the technique struck his hand with a noise like an avalanche and the sound of broken fingers.

While his punch was powerful it didn't give him enough space to do anything more than get back on his feet as the other two leapt on his back from behind held him down once more, giving time for War to recover before the three of them grabbed him by he arms and finally beat into unconscious.

Once he'd finally stopped moving the three of them paused for a moment, concerned it might be trick before they finally collapsed onto the road in relief. After they caught their breath and made sure their foe wasn't dead they collected War's coin, their equipment, and all their target's money, although they left his hammers for fear that it might make them easier to track.

With that done they tended to their wounds as best as they could in a few short minutes and once more vanished into the wheat fields.
