Disciples of Red Dew Sect (Cultivation Riot Quest)

-[X] Primary: Work on cultivation base (A strong foundation will mean more battles, and the manual will increase my ability and speed quickly)
-[X] Auxiliary: Aid Elder Smiling Vulture's mission (This is the perfect chance to properly blood myself and gain combat experience. While bandits are unlikely to match even beginning cultivators, caution is paramount.)

Resource gathering is fairly unlikely to get you much attention from the Elders. The sect got thousands of Outer Disciples that can to plain busywork like that.

Hmm.....tempting. Really tempting but I do want to start down the Path of gunslinger.

Originally was planning to make an archer who used wood to grow magic arrows directly from the bow.

But the chance to make a Magic gun and play a western gunslinger and walk down the Path of the Lone Ranger is hard to pass up.

Fair enough. Gonna need to find someone else for Wood then. @Raikazin any interest in accepting the Heizou mission to help complete a full set of 5 phases, 1 Yin, and 1 Yang?

No interest in the Heizou mission either then?

My character's demeanor doesn't really fit well with the mission. If it were a 'Kill this thing' style mission, I'd probably go for it but...

Also fair. Main reason I asked is because your character fit the bill on the classic Yang personality, but I also had to admit that the mission itself wasn't super relevant to his Path. @LinkOnScepter , you have any interest in the Heizou mission? I figure not, but I also figure I may as well ask.

Possibly. Would the Elder Of War know anything about Body Cultivation? If not then I could switch over.

Edit: Actually...I think I will switch over. If only cause I didn't really build a Social Character and my only other way of finding a handgonne is getting lucky on a search.

Just chipping in my opinion here, but I think just about any Elder will know something about Body Cultivation. Plus, with the mission taking place at the Technique Pavillion, there's a good chance that, even Elder Heizou isn't your style, you might still come away with a technique to take you further down your path. Then again, that's pure speculation on my part.

if Ping Jingai doesn't post a notice, Smiling Vulture might. Basically before the SV quest was up we had already put the resources aside to counter the threat from bandits that's gone around and torched settlements, with Ping deciding on a head-on approach and Vulture is taking a smaller group for investigation and recon to sniff out where the bandits hide.

The ruins are likely to involve fighting too. There's a reason I'm taking a large group of Inner and Outer Disciples there.

I will allow elders to post missions after the turn starts. I'll back port them into the turn post.

In fact I have already added Smiling Vulture's mission.

Turn 1: Smiling Vulture's Mission
a pair of notes, hastily written and placed for the outer and inner disciples to find, reads as follows:

"There's a escalating problem with bandits raiding the outer farms and burning rice fields. I will allow a small number of disciples to accompany me as we'll investigate and find where the bandits hole up, then assist Elder Ping Jingai's main taskforce in rooting them out. If you're squeamish about carcasses do not waste my time." - Smiling Vulture

May as well mention that, as things stand, the Heizou mission is currently missing:
A Wood Disciple
A Earth Disciple
And a Yin Disciple

So, if anyone believes they can fill one of those slots, please take the Heizou mission!

@Arcanestomper How does a PC friend play into situations like this, what with sign-up numbers and how elements play into things?

Or can you just provide more of an in-depth explanation of how the Friend bonus works in general?

Yeah, probably. Also, I figured you were too busy doing your own thing. You're one of the only 2 Fire PC Disciples after all.

Yeah, fire isn't conducive to yin energies, and if I try this heist at any other time the difficulty will ramp up on account of people being present. I would be willing to set that aside though for my fellow disciples if no one else steps up.

Basically a Friend is an all around bonus. They aren't just straight up helping you all the time. It's more that they're providing background support to help ease your time. So they probably won't be as good as having a specific treasure for a situation. But they'll help in any situation and provide a solid bonus to most actions.

In most cases I will not specify exactly what they are providing. But if they have a specific thing you think would be helpful, like their element or specialty, then note it down in your action.

Yeah pills basically fall under alchemy.
