Disciples of Red Dew Sect (Cultivation Riot Quest)

Can't prove it.
Tell that to Elder Huo...
or Elder Nianzu.
You aren't dealing with Honored Elder Huo or Honored Elder Nianzu, and I believe that they are more upstanding than your deluded mind would think in any case.

That mission that you took is under the supervision of Sect Mistress Jiugui, well known for their responsible demeanor, and low tolerance for foul play in general, and your schemes in particular.

We means well i assure you our lucks and the elders will decide where we end up, but its true with so much needing to be done it makes little sense for us to compete over missions. We just wished to ensure Martial brother Li was aware of our intent and of the complication our clashing desires have lead too. As he says and as I'm sure you would agree in these trying times cooperation is a better path to success

No it isn't?
Like at all.
It's under the gambler...

Actually the mission is supervised by elder of games, Yóuxì Gāoshǒu, and we have no idea what her personality is.

Apologies, in my haste I looked at the wrong pagoda mission, but regardless, Honored Elder Youxi is of upstanding character I'm sure.

I hear they set up the Sect Market for the benefit of us disciples, for instance.

Indeed I expect the same of the Elder of the games, at the very least I hope so allow me to restate despite my colleagues tone we really do mean well if the Elders had not restricted the mission as they have we would be honoured to have Brother Li with us but as we cant we hoped to work something out amongst ourselves so as to not bother the sect with complications.

If you feel the need to cripple a fellow disciple for taking on the ssme task as you, then that is a sure mark of a complete lack of confidence in your own abilities. That lack of confidence will hinder your growth every step in your battle against the Heavens and their laws.
I didn't say cripple anywhere.
Why would I remove sect resources like that.
We are super poor that would be dumb.

It's less the fact we're worried he'll outdo us (we have 12 dice to his what? 2 or 3?) and more that only 5 people can take the ruins mission

Surely if you were truly the best fit, the Elder Youxi would not seperate your group. As such, you have nothing to fear unless you are a poor fit for the mission. Are you a poor fit, disciple?
Of course not honored elder, we thought it would be prudent to inform brother Li that we are taking this mission, so it would be in his best interest to quickly choose another one before they fill up.

(Attempt) of Omake:

There was a commotion outside. While Hong Xing was not one for major conversation, the voices outside were starting to escalate to dangerous words. Another unfortunate part was that he recognized one of the voices: Wuyin, one of the other disciples he would be working with on the beast culling missions. It seems they were getting into a "vigorous debate" with that other disciple, the thief whose parents enjoyed mathematics a bit too much.

"If your words truly mean so little...Then why speak at all?"

The words rung out, a near direct slap on that face...that was promptly ignored.

"Then why cultivate, when death will come for us all?"

That...didn't make sense to Xing. Wasn't the point of cultivation to become so powerful you can ignore death?

Eh, he was getting distracted. Hopefully this wouldn't escalate to blows, having a fight would risk losing a disciple for the mission, and while Xing himself had the Rainbow eyes technique, a single point of failure did not bode well.

(OOC: Yeah, the dialogue is from the discord RP right now. It's kinda entertaining, except for the fact I genuinely can't tell if I'm going to get sucked into it by association.)
