It's unlikely that you'll be missedIt's unlikely they'll kill me with the state the sect is in right now.
A message in much blockier handwriting is posted on the barracks of the inner and outer disciples.
"The Elder Maçon places a mission at the behest of the disciples of our glorious sect of Red Dew. The handgonne is a crucial implement of modern war and is the weapon of the future, the disciple that brings back the most quality Peasant-Grade handgonnes, or harquebuses, I am not critical of the exact variety, will be allowed to learn at my feet for a period of one month."
"There shall be no show of worth, only a show of results, you have exactly one month to return with the goods."
The message is signed by Tristram Maçon, Elder of War.
My Character sheet:
Name: Bai Kouta
Description: Tall, well muscled. Has a scowling resting face, but has a surprisingly sweet smile that only his close friends have a chance to see.
Personality: Shy in social situations but intensely focused when crafting. A perfectionist who will lose track of time trying to get all the details just right when working on his craft. Intensely loyal to his few friends, but bad at making a good impression.
Element: TBD
Path: A blacksmith who creates Qi weapons. Wants to create the greatest sword ever forged, the sword that will pierce the heavens.
Gift: Technique Manual: A set of rare weapon forging techniques. At the pinnacle of the technique the weapons begin to have their own souls, allowing them to aid the wielder, but restricting their compatibility to only those with matching paths and personalities.
@Arcanestomper does the Technique Manual I have in mind seem reasonable? Also I don't know what element is best for a blacksmith. I am thinking Metal, but maybe it's Earth, or Fire.
I'll give it a shot I guess...
Name: Hong Xing
Description: Somewhat wiry, Hong is unique in that he has perfectly blond hair, and almost pale colored irises. He rarely smiles, finding little to be joyful about besides fighting.
Personality: Asocial, near hermetic when not fighting. A veritable fight-junkie who is constantly chasing the next high from battle, he has little patience for those who believe they are strong because of their birth, rather than their actions.
Element: Metal
Path: Ki Refiner
Gift: Technique Manual: A Ki-refining manual that dramatically aids the cultivation speed and quality of someone whose element is Metal.
[] Primary Action: Work on Cultivation Base
-[] Secondary Action: Spar with Disciples
BTW, I just wanted to confirm what the Training a Technique does. Is it more Making a technique you already have stronger, or learning a whole new one entirely?
Quick question: Are the realms in this setting the classic realms for most Xianxia? (I.E Qi-Refining, Foundation Building, Golden Core and Nascent soul)
And I'm guessing we're all starting on the lowest rung, just with with different grades on the lowest rung depending on our gift? Well, except the Elder. What realm are they at?

Gold baron I'm pretty sure. It should have been fairly obvious but still a good question.
Gold Baron, hence him being a Baron. Rank = Realm, pretty much.

For now, I do believe the Red Dew Barony has its power split amongst us honorable elders. That may change eventually, but I hope not soon, for bringing in an uncaring outsider to rule would be a terrible occurrence. So with the death of the Red Dew Baron uh... who's in charge of the area officially?
