Devil Trigger (Devil May Cry/Worm AU)

Done reading the updates on stock and man it is a riot.
"No, I am not taking it back, ya punk-ass bitch!" Rodin shook his head. "Anyway, where was I?
I can't, I choked a laugh when Rodin said this...
Frail. Pathetic. Weak. Human.
Watch it Tay, that's a deep hole you might be dropping in and it would be hypocritical if you drop there when your going to meet the edgelord of a game that should not exist cause it's not done properly...

Anyways found TYPO's @SkyRig
getting killed by a monster dog was... worrying, to say the least.
so I figured I might as well stop by the rogue's shop and see
"I'll come with you," Charlotte stood up.

Soooooo Gilgamesh right?
I think i remember that was both the name of the dmc4 weapon and the metal it was made off.
It was also a demon/boss in DMC5. Urizen just brought a pile of metal to life I think?
That boss was the demonic metal Gilgamesh coating a bunch of Qliphoth roots.
The Gilgamesh metal can only be found in the Underworld. The metal Rodin used to craft Orthrus was found in Inferno, but it is comparible to Gilgamesh metal.

Ah. Yeah, that would explain that, wouldn't it? Hopefully I didn't make myself look too stupid. I rarely come on forums as it is, mostly relying on OP emails for reading from them, or download the story for offline reading via sites like fichub.

"Welcome to the Gates of Hell, brother," the owner greeted Danny as he walked up to the counter. "What'll you have?"

"Something light, please." Danny didn't know what his alcohol tolerance was like, so immediately asking for something strong like whiskey was a bad idea in his head.

The owner nodded and put a shot glass down in front of him, followed by a bottle. The cap was more or less ripped off than screwed off. Danny watched as the owner filled up the glass. The liquid inside the shot glass smelled rancid, and at the same time, sweet.
So....
From the descriptions in this chapter I have to ask, have you also never drunk, or possibly even been around, any alcohol? Because the way you're describing people's drinks sounds like how an edgy 14 year-old that's never stepped foot in a bar, or been in the presence of an open container of alcohol, would try to make them sound impressive. I just wanted to see of that's intentional or not, because if so it totally fits the tone of the early DmC games, but if not it might be something you want to work on as it otherwise detracts from the storytelling.

Addressing the particulars in this chapter for instance, no bartender after being asked for something "light" is going to respond with anything in a shot-glass. The most likely response would have been a light beer. Secondly, I'm not sure what you think of in response to "acrid" but as someone that's been a casual drinker for going on two decades, liquor or beer isn't what springs to mind when I hear that, maybe some variety of things wine but that doesn't seem like what you were gonna ng for in this scene. Maybe it's just me, but it makes me think of dryness or at best ozone, not really something I'd associate with any drink, so a different descriptor would probably be a better fit here depending on what sort of impression you were hoping for the reader to take away. Additionally, contrary to what TV and Movies tell you, you almost never are just given a shot glass and bottle of your own. It can happen, but it's not normal and it is crazy expensive and it makes no sense for both Danny and Alan here to have ordered a drink and each be given their own individual bottles of liquor.

Anyway, you've got an interesting if very AU story here and I just wanted to give some helpful advice towards verisimilitude in case you ever do any future scenes set in a bar.

I've seen this in other stories and on other sites. What font is this?

As someone who has drunk Scotch, bourbon, gin, and rum for two decades I sort of agree that acrid doesn't describe most alcohols whether liquor or wine. However, beer tastes and smells like piss to me, so acrid would be a good description. I've found that most beer drinkers have gotten so used to the taste and smell of hops that if they quit for a couple of months and try it again they will spit it out. One of my friends had to have kidney surgery, with a 3-month recovery. During the recovery period he couldn't have any alcohol. As soon as the doc gave him an all-clear he bought a 6-pack of his favorite brand, popped open a bottle, took one sip and wound up pouring it all down the drain. He joined me in the HARD club that night. LOL

@Master Zoen You'll want to merge your posts. Double-posting isn't allowed. Just a quick heads up.

And in answer to your question regarding the font, it's called Glitch Text, which you can create here.

Eh? I've been told repeatedly on this site that multiple posts are fine. I'm posting from a phone, and it's hard to get the multiple quote thing to work.

Thanks for the info about the font.

It's also a massive pain in the ass, most of the time, because people ratchet up the glitch part of the text waaaaay too high...

Does anyone remember the release schedule? It's Adapt -> ??? -> Devil Trigger?
If I remember right, SkyRig is doing Adapt and Phantom back to back, and after they're finished, he is moving on to A Worm in the Gulch (Red vs Blue/Worm Crossover), and maybe possibly back to Devil Trigger.

Ten points to Stranger. Its Adapt and Phantom, then Worm in the Gulch, and finally back to Devil Trigger. Maybe. I will most likely be some of my fanfics over on FF over here when I have the time, as the only fanfic that has been migrated is my YGO Arc-V fanfic.

Did Ziz send her groupies to Brockton because Rodin called her a Kaiju knockoff?

That would just annoy Rodin and possibly make him decide to turn her into a new weapon for Taylor or possibly a new toilet brush. The guy is nearly as powerful as Juberlaus, the fucking creator God of the Trinity of Realities, so turning Ziz into something sharp and shiny wouldn't take much effort on his part.
