Devil Trigger (Devil May Cry/Worm AU)

Holy fuck another halfer!? I know I don't want to get my hopes up because I only know an edgelord in DMC and he is being babysat by his brother right now... but either it's an OC or the horrifying... DmC?

Ninja theory dante meets Vergil taylor, while ninja theory vergil does his best urizen impression. Any chance Dmcv vergil and dante wander into this?

It's implied to be DmC. At least Sky already warned people ahead of time this arc might not be for everyone just for that.

Still, I have high hopes. And I, for one, am willing to bet that Taylor is going to wreck Virgil's shit something fierce.

Could this be the arc where she unlocks her Devil Trigger?

I'm pretty chill about DmC tbh, while it is pretty much cool that the Sparda siblings of that particular place are more or less have a stronger baseline than OG Sparda brothers, I am more a fan of OG Sparda.

Though regardless if this is the really practical gun using Vergil or the angst, playboy and rebel Dante, I would be fine tbh.

Wow, that was an excellent teaser for what is to come. Very cinematic and worthy of a voiceover by the late, great, Don Lafontaine, the undisputed King of Movie Trailers.

I think the confrontation between the Edgelord and Taylor happened because of Taylor's Cape name. Also, I personally believe that the brothers are gonna have the best bits of their Alternate counterparts mixed into their Canonical selves. With Vergil, he's gonna have the ghost form that they added into VSE, with Dante gaining that axe. And hopefully nothing else, besides maybe guns for Vergil. I can totally see him being undisputed with a Rifle, yet Ironically being a gun hater despite his skill with them.

I have a soft spot for Donte. I like a lot of the weapons he got in the game, and I love how over the top edgy the whole silly game is.

I only played the fifth game so I have no idea whats going on

but fists are going to fly soon and that means we'll be getting an amazing friendship/rivalry

i am all for it

EVERYONE ON THE HYPE TRAIN CAUSE ITS NOT GONNA STOP FOR ANYTHING!

So im just gonna wonder what S9 is gonna do, and how are they even gonna anything to a world filled with Demons and Angels from the Bayonetta and DMC Universe.

To clear things up, and and to give some context without spoiling too much, the Sparda twins from Ninja Theory's DmC: Devil May Cry are going to be a central focus for Mission 2.

Truth be told, I'm a little nervous about writing them, considering all the flak DmC gets, but like I said before, I'm always up for a challenge and I still believe that even a bad character can be written well if handled properly.

If get pass the emo and edginess worthy of cringe, DmC Dante is actually a neat character. You just have to take out all the cringe involved in him.

And I've already made my point clear about the wasted potential that is Virgil.

You know, I actually prefer to DMC versions over the other version. I found the original Dante to be a bit of an annoying prick, although far from a bad character. The one in the new one felt a little more...real. I mean, you cant exactly blame the guy for being a bit of a dick considering that hes literally at the start of his career and isnt even aware of most of the Demon shit at the start.

I also prefer the DMC game over the others since I could actually figure out where the flying fuck I was supposed to go.

DINO/Donte isnt too bad a character (on his own) the issue was how the devs marketed him.

DmC Vergil on the other hand is a whole nother bag of toys. He's nowhere near as cultured, honorable, or skilled as DMC Vergil nor does he have as much depth. Much like DmC Dante he is Vergil In Name Only. VINO if you will.

Yes...because hes younger and hasnt had time to become the character who appeared in the other game. You wouldnt expect him to be the same person, even if it wasnt a reboot.

The new one felt like an emo, angsty brat thinking that being an asshole is a funny trait, whilst the New Vergil used a gun to kill an unborn baby and off the mama afterwords.

Well, thats kinda what he was. He had literally nothing and had been tortured most of his life by Demons. How do you expect him to act?! He improved a great deal by the end of the story. You are right about Vergil though.

With all this talk of Dmc Donte he is well enough character for a standard Hack and slash, hell he would have alright if the game did not have the DMC name. Baby slayer on the other had is a joke.

The thing about Donte is that he improves vastly over the course of the game. For the first hour he's a little shit that's way full of himself and has 0 charisma. But absolutely everything about him gets better by each boss he kills. Even his quips are leagues better by the end of the game vs the start.

It's a great depiction of Dante growing as a person... if only it wern't surrounded by so much cringe.

Actually, question: Will this Virgil be wearing the Fedora? Inquiring minds want to know.

I am baking some fan art atm.
Does anyone have good refs for vergils coat? I am not sure if I should change it or not.

Bold of you to go with the reboot. Personally I am a fan, it was the first DMC game I played so I have a soft spot for it. Like others said, some good ideas, horrible execution. DMC 5 drew on it a bit for a reason.

Like you said, the characters have potential, and one of the great parts of fanfiction is the ability to fix what seems wrong/bad and make it more thought out, or at least make them better characters. I'm actually really hype for that arc and seeing what you do. The pieces are there (virgin needs more adjustment, but even he has an interesting core), so I have total trust in you. Happy new year!
