Devil Trigger (Devil May Cry/Worm AU)

...um, okay, jesus christ, that just sounds like you're making Tay Tay ridiculously op. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, it definitely sounds interesting, especially with the whole Canopus bit. Not sure how you'd handle that portion, though.
As I said, it's a plot bunny I don't think I can pursue at the moment. But yeah, Taylor would be kind of OP, but on the plus side, she has an omni-being living inside her head that finds the Entities way of doing this entirely inefficient and pointless, since death comes naturally. And what is dead can be replaced.

I will admit that part of me does want to make this a legit story, if only because Taylor gets Scion as a new best bud/subordinate.
Rodin came off sort of like he was calling Taylor a dumb kid but he said it in such a way I don't think age matters much to him. Also guessing Contessa's powers don't include the older powers of the world in her paths, at least not fully.
Hmm, now that Cauldron is finding out about the older powers do you think they will start using it in an attempt to tip the scales against scion? I can easily see them going overboard with that and causing much more attention to be brought to Earth-Bet, demons might be interested in these new powers.
He wasn't exactly calling her dumb, but he does find her actions a little funny by comparing her to a fish out of water. And he's not wrong. Right now at this point in time, Taylor still has no idea what she is and what her newfound transformation entails.

Contessa's powers regarding Rodin will pretty much just say "You can't" or "You don't." Namely because even the "passenger" realizes that fucking with Rodin is not advised, considering this fucker fought and beat Scion's ass into the ground on Earth Shin.

Bianca was a little pissed about the property damage XD

Cauldron won't try to use demons (or angels if I decide to have them make an appearance), namely because even they know it is a bad fucking idea. Especially with what will happen in Brockton Bay when Leviathan comes to visit.
I am debating between if Contessa would be worst off meeting Angels or Demons first. She is bound to run into them somehow if she is investigating Bodin. Dude himself is a bonified Badass from the High Above if i didn't get it wrong.

So... since we're basically dragging in the DMC and Bayo-verse, do we get to see any reactions of THAT Side reacting to Scion's appearance? Or is this question already answered somewhere in the past?
There will be some reactions via an interlude, specifically from the viewpoints of Rodin and another DMC character, though the latter one will be reacting to the existence of Entities as a whole rather than just scion.
If you're still looking for help with clusters, OxfordOctopus just posted a great info dump on how to build a cluster trigger.

Hi! This is where all my good ideas go to die. Hope you enjoy!
Thank you so much, this is going to help me out a lot!

...you really need to stop dropping stuff like that dude. It's gonna make my brain hurt!

Given that all I remember from Ward is that somehow every world is worse than Bet and everyone's a fucking asshole I am just 'wow what a big loss'

Then again I learned ward via osmosis so don't take it seriously I guess

I think that Cauldron would literlly get eaten up. Those angels are vicious beasts and hell, well Cauldron will be down there sooner or later. I don't think either version cares and certainly aren't going to be used by the dumbest version of the Illuminati in any universe.

Rodin was being pretty nice to Taylor......at least you can rely on him to be neutral as well as dish out some needed information. And thanks for making Taylor full powered, there is a trend going around of screwing with canon powers until its ridiculous.

With all of the shit that goes on in the Bayonetta universe that Taylor is now in or is joining Earth Bet, Virgil needed all of her powers and with all of the asshats in BB Taylor is gonna need them too. But lord don't let her think she's a cape (Thank god for Rodin) that is always annoying as hell.

She's not in the Bayonetta universe, nor is the Bayo uni joining Earth Bet. Rodin is the only character from Bayo's world in Earth Bet, and occasionally some dumbass opens a door to either DMC's Underworld or Bayo's Inferno.

And Taylor IS a cape, as ninja'd by @Dis Lexic.
She was introduced near the end of Worm and makes a return in Ward. Earth Shin has NO HEROES and is entirely ruled by villains. Bianca, better known as Goddess, is a grab-bag cape.
Fun fact, Bianca is actually one of my favorite characters, even though she's kind of a bitch and something of a manchild. Now whether she'll appear in this fanfic, that's not in the cards.

So I randomly found this story, and you've got me interested after reading what's available so far.

...the scary part is, considering what I've heard about both Rodin boss fights (haven't had the chance to actually fight him in either game myself), I can honestly believe this could actually happen! :o

Cauldron, if there is a Gold Morning in this universe, y'all better make sure to ask Rodin if he wants to help protect his vacation spot!

The fucked up thing is, Earth Bet would totally be seen as a Vacation spot by the Dumbass Twins and Bayonetta, while Nero would be more sane in his opinions of Bet. It's a Fucked up world that he wants to stay very Far from, if only because he would be dragged into it's local issues for long enough that Kyrie would put the fear of God Eva into him.

Agreed, completely and totally, but I fixed your statement for you. Nero's a family man, if he's going vacationing, it's to Disney World or something.

Thank you for the correction, it reminded me who truly had the fist of God in the Sparda Household
Well, if you were to take Nico's words after the Artemis fight into consideration, and the photo you get for S rank after that mission when you beat the game, Nero is more terrified of his wife/girlfriend than he is of any demon.

...I dread to think how Earth Bet would react to Bayonetta. My god, could you imagine how PHO would go if somebody recorded Bayo fighting some poor shmuck?

I can't decide if XxVoid_CowboyxX would get banned for inappropriate comments about her clothing style, or for going full conspiracy theorist about how she's a demon sent from Hell.

My personal Headcanon is that the only reason Kyrie doesn't fight is because of the collateral damage of releasing the DMC equivalent to The Phoenix.

W8 so the place Bayo is crashing right now that Rodin said is back home? I had thought Bayo is having fun too on Bet!

Teaser (Work In Progress)
So, at the time of this writing, it is currently 10:47 p.m. over here where I live. In, ooh, an hour and 13 minutes, it will officially be New Year's Eve. To celebrate, I want to show you all something. Keep in mind that what you see is NOT the final product and is subject to change. And odds are, this particular arc is going to be a quite divisive for who and what I am including.

However, as I said in my earlier post over in Phantom, I am of the opinion that even a shitty character can be handled well if done so correctly. With that in mind, I'm giving you all a glimpse of what I like to call the "Taylor Becomes Motivated" arc.

Quick note, however, that you are free to ignore this entirely. I'm aware that some people may not like the idea of getting a "teaser," but I still felt like doing it.

Think of it like a movie trailer. And what trailer isn't complete without musical accompaniment?

"Approximately twelve hours ago, we lost any and all contact with the Protectorate capes sent to the United Kingdom to investigate reports of odd happenings there. We believed it was suspected criminal cape activity. Not helping matters was that the Slaughterhouse Nine was last sighted entering London."

"It has begun…"

"What do we do?"

The aid looked to Director Costa-Brown for assistance. The woman had her eyes closed, brow wrinkled and deep in thought. When she opened her eyes, there was naught but cold steel.

"Get me Emily Piggot from the ENE branch."

Seven figures all made their way out from the shadows of the sewers, greeting the armed forces of the police and Protectorate. Some were recognizable, but others looked like twisted monsters as though they were Case-53s gone wrong. The faces they could identify was enough to give them pause for concern, but the apparent leader of the group was the one that made them all pale in dread, especially when they saw half his face covered in what looked like metal growths.

"Oh, fuck…"

Jack Slash grinned from ear to ear, blood trailing from his eye down to his chin. "Hello, boys. Shall we play a game?"

Taylor grimaced, gripping her shoulder. Blood leaked through the bandages. "Who is he, Rodin? What is he?"

Rodin breathed a cloud of smoke. "A half-devil. Has a little angel blood in him too. Or he used to before he crowned himself the King of Hell."

"You will regret being born useless and human…"

Chaos ran rampant through the streets as the Wards attempted to fight off the demons. Antares gritted her teeth as she found herself flung through a building and came crashing into a brick wall, barely having time to defend herself as the burly armored monster came charging after her and ploughed her straight into the next building.

Vista attempted to protect herself against two Furies, but could barely keep up with them. One attempted to strike her from behind, but was protected by Taylor and her Othrus.

"You've never had this much trouble," Rodin remarked as he watched the white-haired halfer make her way up the ruined skyscraper. "You gonna make it through this, kiddo?"

"I will show you your worst nightmares…"

Atop the skyscraper, a blade of ice and fire struck against pure steel. Taylor and her opponent danced across the rooftop, seemingly a blur to any onlookers who may be witnessing this epic battle. Yet in spite of Taylor's fierce determination, swinging arcs of flame and creating icicles to impale her opponent, she was on the losing side.

In another locking of blades, she pushed and roared. In defiance and power, her opponent rebuked her and knocked her away before closing the distance. With a single slash, Othrus shattered to pieces. Blood spewed into the air, gushing from Taylor's chest as her body slid close to the edge.

"I will give you despair…and death."

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets flew through the air, accompanied by the sound of clashing blades. Sparks lit up the darkness of the underground in which the battle took place, briefly showing Taylor engaging with another. Shotgun shells were blocked by a beautiful broadsword. Bullets fired from dual pistols were effortlessly cut down by Taylor's sword.

A flash of red lit up the area. The sword vanished in favor of a blood-red ax that met Taylor's flame-encroached sword. The attacks met and created a shockwave that demolished the area, tearing apart the ground and blasting a hole in the roof above. Moonlight shined through the hole, illuminating their surroundings.

Othrus was primed at her enemy's throat while an azure scythe was ready to lop off Taylor's head with the slightest movement.

"You've got a jacked-up notion of fair play, kid," the white-haired man told Taylor. "Not going to lie. It's pissing me off."

Taylor scowled. "That's my line, edgelord! Who the hell are you?!"

In response, man grinned.

TIME TO MAKE THE DEVIL CRY

DEVIL TRIGGER:
-mission 2-

coming soon…

Post note, quick update.

I am still in the middle of a hiatus, but the planning for my book is going well. Now, whether or not that will transition to actually writing said book is up in the air.

-_-

I hate it when I don't feel motivated to write.

In other news, my friend @TheStranger intends on releasing his first Worm fanfic over on this site, and on Spacebattles. He hasn't told me what it is, but it's apparently taking inspiration from Rick Riordan's book series.

Strange, old gal, if you're reading this, I just want to make this very clear. If I don't see any sort of godly shenanigans that would make even the poet of the gods giggle, our friendship is over.
i'm kidding, of course

Bold of you to include that game into this. Then again, if this is going where I think its going I wouodnt be surprised to see other Clover/Platinum stuff in addition to other CAPCOM titles that deal with the demonic.

Also i'm digging the use of DMCV stuff here.

So DmC:Devil May Cry Vergil is doing what DMC Vergil did but probably not as well, fully intentionally, and with far less skill and class. Just like fhe wee pretender he is. Seriously tho DmC Vergil's moves are all over extended, sloppy, and anemic compared to DMC Vergil in terms of their animations.

Rodin breathed a cloud of smoke. "A half-devil. Has a little angel blood in him too. Or he used to before he crowned himself the King of Hell."

Just from what I'm reading here... Well, can't say I saw this coming, although it's a welcome surprise. The reboot was alright, IMO. Could've been worse. I mostly blame the marketing and devs for the revulsion, although that's just me.

...well.

This looks interesting.

Also, what does it mean by "mission 2"? What? Is the whole story of Devil trigger we're doing right now mission 1? If so, jesus that's a long ass level.
