Finding a fallen tree just around a bend near the ore vain, I traversed the stream and scaled the slope on the far side. The extensive stony outcrop at the peak of the clearly larger hill seemed promising, gneiss made for a much better foundation than root-filled dirt and would provide a solid wall against whatever hurricanes that may hit the region. I'd need to haul logs uphill from the lower slopes because the thin soil over rock didn't seem to be something the local trees handled well, but that wouldn't be too much of a problem so long as I didn't get ambitious and stuck to smaller trunks for the initial structure.
For some reason, this in particular is giving me Dwarf Fortress vibes. The drones, though, not so much.

I just read the story again. (Okay, it's not that long ^^) And I was wondering if we will find out why Emma chose this specific Power for Taylor.

I'll be going into the specifics when I do the first Emma Interlude, but basically she thought she'd gotten Taylor a lemon power. Architect Tinkers deal with large-scale, resource intensive, projects that would be very hard for Taylor to use effectively and thus ensure that she couldn't actually stand up to Emma while still looking like a threat. What Tay ended up with is not in the slightest what was expected.

*schadenfreude cackling* Oh my, I can't wait until we get to see Emma realize just how badly she fucked up!

Emma-"Dammit I'm supposed to be winning here!"

Taylor-*laughs in inter dimensional factory/fortress*

I am aware it it practically against the rules of canon, but Taylor could always beat Emma with kindness. Give the girl her own castle in Europe to rule over far away from Taylor.

Your Bitchcess is in another castle, Shadow Stalker!
Non, non...

This is what happens when she decides to troll Leet and Uber as well during her finale as a villian by kidnapping the PRT'S newest 'Princess' and then forces Shadow Stalker, the Wards, and the Protectirare to navigate a series of fortresses escalating in difficulty, possibly while filmed.

So she will end up styling on the 'Gamer Duo's, Emma, Shadow Stalker, and everyone else.

And then Emma will end up having been KO'd and shoved in her room at the Wards while everyone is busy.

Because portals!

Which probably would have worked if she didn't have her recall beacons. But even without interdimensional teleportation, the beacons are a game-changer. Sure, she's perfectly safe on another Earth, but there would be plenty of remote regions on Earth Bet where that would work, too. (However, the fact that resources have never been mined on Tǩóymos means that she can extract many minerals and ores on the surface with a simple hammer).

Of course, given how intelligent and creative Taylor is (especially compared to Emma), even if she got a power that was closer to what Emma expected, Taylor would probably still be able to win against her, it would just be far more difficult and painful.

Taylor gets the ability to summon and control Wiffle Bats.

Emma is found after six months and 1 day buried under wiffle bats, her nightmares filled by the foam squeak of wiffle wapping her face.

I've been enjoying this @Sandy River DL please keep it coming.

Joining in the speculation on Taylor's Specialization I'm thinking she's ended up with the 'HostSpecies-Outpost' shard and that this shard is the Eden equivalent of Zion's Nilbog Shard. Intended as a fallback in case of loss or near loss of the Host species prior to the completion of the cycle.

Interesting idea, but missing something. Taylor was not the first to have that particular vial formula and none of the other recipients had been anywhere near what she got in anything but PRT threat rating.

I have to say that her power really reminds me of Sphere. Even though it worked completely differently. Sphere also used semi-automatic drones. But Taylor lacks the whole biodome aspect to it.

What does a feathered rat have to do with better coffee? don't tell me that's Blasto in Boston and some combination of that rat & his plants/creatures will produce coffee.

Oh Fuck, did she get a distillation of Hero's shard?
No, that would've had ratings too high for Emma's liking.

Contessa doesn't know, and even I'm not quite sure. But dumping it in that house sets things in motion for her to get great coffee bush seeds that, in the right place, will produce the best coffee ever. In three years, because that's how long it takes for a coffee bush to go from seed to productive plant.
