Just saw a video on Youtube, GFL2 is just anime XCOM that I've always dreamed about. Troubleshooter is good but not enough guns.
Is there any info on this? Like translation or global release? is it gacha-F2P based or full retail release? I don't mind paying MICA full price on this one.

No official translations available yet, the game actually isn't out yet and won't be for a while. The first Closed Beta Test just started yesterday, so what you saw was probably either from that or one of the dev livestreams. It's going to be a gacha/F2P released on both mobile and PC, but no solid estimate on the release date yet. You can find a summary of what we know so far here and a translated playlist of the developer livestreams here.

Anyway, on to the serious question. I have some gems (exactly 2005) saved up, and no particular goal for them. How good (or bad) of an idea would be to spend them on those Svarog Ticked packages? What about saving up for the next SF ringleader - Hunter, I suppose?
Also, something I find curious. It's possible to clear 2-6 with Coalition echelon where all units are lvl 1 (Strikers were dummy-linked, though). Also, I thought I'd clear Episode 13 between the last event and now, but got stuck in the middle of ep 10. I'm facing an interesting situation where I'm about to attack the SF base with the help from the Military... And using Coalition echelons.

Terrible idea unless you're willing to drop actual cash. The max echelon cap got raised to 14, so you do have something to spend gems on. Also, not only is Hunter is much better at her job than Executioner (Executioner is considered to be the worst of the ringleaders in the meta), her pool also introduces Manticores. Which were gamebreaking levels of broken before they got nerfed to a slightly more reasonable but still broken level.

Spend gems on permanent functionality (e.g. echelon slots, dorms, that kind of thing) and on things like "oath certificate plus stuff for the price of an oath certificate".
And costumes for your waifu if you really really want to.

Meanwhile, I've found some guides on Protocol Assimilation, and it looks like sometimes reruns can happen. Which means that, in theory, this is not my last chance to get Executioner, and so the collect-y parts of my brain can stuff their mouth with a sock.
Wait, she is? Oh well, it's too late now, I already spent 50+ impulses and I won't stop now.

I'm starting to get the complaints about SF capture and how you can't get every Ringleader each cycle. By the same token Coalition Units are powerful but consume tons of resources so they're really only of limited use like HOCs or MG/SG units

Like, it's pretty obvious they are going to cover the prologue/Chapter 0 at the very least, M4 not wearing pants aside.
If they strecht it, they could get half a season out of the AR team splitting, M4 fighting Executioner and then meeting the Commander. If not, they could cover getting the original AR team together in one season. Then you can stop watching because it's all depression and gloom from then on.
I personally hope they show other T-Dolls kicking ass, cause in the manga only the main characters (and Groza) do cool shit while everybody else watched.

So, I was hunting for Hunter, and after I used all the "normal" and "extra" impulses, I had 16 bombing tickets and 17 units left in the pool. So I started using them, one-by-one, and - yes, exactly as you guessed, the last unit left was Hunter. She was sitting there, the last unit left in the pool, and I had nothing to even try capturing her.
And then I went to the home screen, and got two bombing tickets from the achievements.
Also, today I learned that, if a bombing ticket pulls a unit that is already on-screen, this unit is replaced with a different one. Knowing this sooner might or not have saved me some bombing tickets, because of those "17 units left" four were one-stars.

I forgot theater started yesterday since it wasn't on the main screen. Not too concerned since outside of the points stuff I don't see much need for yet another HOC especially when I have piles of general data.
Hunter never showed up last banner and Intruder showed up on the first round of this one but failed to capture. Not really concerned and I guess I'll save up extra impulses for when something actually worth getting pops up.
