Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

Stream happened today and they showed off a lot of new stuff. Also got another cutie boss.

Seems this new event is taking out in depths of the no mans land where no humans go.

"hey m4a1, do you think can love bloom, even on a battlefield?" also actual animation in the PV this time, though i kinda liked how they did previous trailers. also maybe spoilers, i guess?

There's definitely a spoiler for Singularity (I think) in there, though it's fairly quick.
ST AR-15 Mod 3's picture shows up at the end, in the shot the has M4 and the boss's two states. So far on EN we don't know STAR is still alive.

New enemy units!

Top: AOE, sustain damage

Left: Defense mode, damage limit (in defense mode, only take 1 damage no mater the attack, giving fast attacking dolls an advantage)

Right: Missile, reduce damage, sustain AOE damage (like vector's molotov)

Left: Special ammo, Debuff

Right: Repaire force field, AOE damage, control

Left: Large single entity enemy. Switch between modes, shield/evasion, penetration damage, high damage

Right: Digi-mind disruption. It will advance towards you, if it get too close, it can disrupt your dolls prevent them from attacking. Story related.

Mods!

Type 88

MP5

UMP9

6 star mod! It's obviously 416.

Deagle and new dolls.

6 star mod! It's obviously 416.

The absolute madmen and madwomen. They did it. They pulled the trigger on 6-star dolls. And RO isn't the first of them like I thought she'd be .

UMP9 and MP5 Mod 3's are promising, they both could use the buffs. MP5's Mod 3 art makes her look like a badass and UMP 9's art makes her personality come through more, IMO.

Type 88 Mod 3 is meh. Her base form has the worst base DPS of any RF, if my spreadsheet is correct, and she's a night battle specialist. Even with an FN49 level Mod 3 buff she'll only be niche at best. Her design also looks rather out of place for this game. IMO it's closer to something from Nanoha than GFL.

Looks like fun updates. I wonder how long it will take to come to the EN server.

I still don't like Type 88 looks, she still looks a lot like girl cosplaying as a maid cafe even after mod (now with Mecha musume element) compare to other dolls.

I will proudly be the odd man out and state that I adore Type 88's mod3. And MP5's looks all most exactly the same as her base art. Just looks like it has a few more frills, which isn't helping her look more badass. Very eh. Though I'm always happy to see dolls that already have unique equipment get more of it. Makes them feel more... like custom jobs, I suppose. And she carried me through a lot of my early days in this game, so her getting more stuff is aces in my book. Just wish her art was better.

UMP9 looks great though. And I can't wait to see what they do for 416.

I think Type 88's mod 3 art looks out of place, not bad. IMO she looks more like an ecchi moe anthropomorphize mecha.

IMO the biggest changes to MP5's art are her posture, facial expression, and firearm's accessories. She also got a cape-thing that's mostly transparent so it's hard to notice. Looking at her current in-game art I think she actually has less total frills in her Mod 3 art because we can't see as much of the white under layer (under layers?) of her new dress, even though said dress has fancy folds in the bottom hem that her old one lacked. I'm fairly certain it's actually a new dress because the buttons on it changed size, color, and maybe position. She also traded the giant bow on her back for a pair of bows on her hat and added a braid across her front bangs. I had to look back and forth between her current and mod 3 artworks to pick up on all the differences after her new cape.

Thinking on it more, I think MP5's mod 3 art looks like she's more confident and trying her best to be badass rather than actually looking badass.

Type 88 looks fucking weird. To me, she looks like how a cosplayer would parody cosplay. Also, if they're doing 5 star mod 3 upgrades, I'm going to be really disappointed if RO doesn't make the list in the future.

I can see that. But this is suppose to be the future, so her armoring up like it's the future is fine with me. Grated she's a rifle, so armor won't help her do her job.

Again I agree, and I think it ties in well with what we know of MP5 and how she feels about her place in Griffin. The problem I have is that she's still very Saru. Better dressed, but... no getting around it, I didn't like having a loli in a short dress with no shoulders in my base before, and I don't like it now. The cape helps, but having a real shirt on would do a lot for me.

I think Desert Eagle was a missed opportunity, MICA should make the doll as gender bent Duke Nukem :V instead of frilly doll.

416 was the only five star I got for the first month I was playing
Heh, so you got your "A Fateful Encounter" achievement with 416?

The most apt doll for your first 5*, that is so fitting lol

While Eye of the Assaulter is an amazing ability I wonder if we're going to get a G11 Mod 3? There's the K2 (Konstruction 2) variant of the G11 that was what the Bundeswehr was going to adopt so there is something of an IRL upgrade path there.

Full translation of the new expedition mechanic:

NEW ITEMS

There are two main types of items which have been added: TRADING TOKENS and EXPEDITION ITEMS.

TRADING TOKENS
City's Gift
Primarily obtained through City Expeditions, they can be traded for items from the Black Market.
Toy building blocks which were manufactured a long time ago. Their extremely high quality makes them very difficult to imitate in this day and age, and they serve as currency in many war-torn areas. They can be traded for many things.

Snowfield's Gift: Primarily obtained through Snowfield Expeditions, they can be traded for items from the Black Market.
One can often find weapons left behind from previous wars beneath the frozen ground of icy and snowy regions. Their wooden handguards, pockmarked by the scars of battle, are very popular among collectors from safe zones, who have never been on the battlefield before.

Forest's Gift: Primarily obtained through Forest Expeditions, they can be traded for items from the Black Market.
The fruits of the oak tree, which are very hard to find nowadays. They've recently become the new thing in illegal wildlife collection, which made their price skyrocket. One can often see gangsters in safe zones wearing bracelets of acorns as they show off to each other.

Wilderness' Gift: Primarily obtained through Wilderness Expeditions, they can be traded for items from the Black Market.
This is a sample of Collapse FLuid collected from a contaminated zone. Apart from emitting an eerie green glow and turning people into zombies, it doesn't seem to have any special uses. However, a few suspicious religious groups are buying them up at a high price.

EXPEDITION ITEMS
Ordinary Meat Buns: Reduce Expedition time by 5%
They sate hunger as normal, and slightly improve your mobility -- it's better than nothing, right?

Tray of Meat Buns: Reduce Expedition time by 10%
An entire tray of meat buns sold in stores, enough to serve as a simple meal by itself. It somewhat improves your movement speed.

Soul-Stirring Meat Buns: Reduce Expedition time by 20%
This luxurious teak bento box contains many meat buns with ample portions. After scarfing them all down, they moderately increase the your exploration speed.

Civilian Rations: +10% chance of gaining mid-mission rewards
Hamburger and fries, purchased on their own. There is a very tiny chance that you'll find a prize in them, but a true luckchad doesn't mind that.

Single-Person Combo Bucket : +20% chance of gaining mid-mission rewards
Fully incorporates all the elements you need to eat by yourself. It boasts more dishes and a moderate increase in finding a prize, killing two birds with one stone.

Happy Meal For Two: +30% chance of gaining mid-mission rewards
Double the calories, double the joy, but triple the chances of winning a prize. It's always good to have friends to share with.

Strawberry Cheesecake Slice: +5% to return reward amount
A small slice of strawberry cheesecake, the best choice for dealing with your hunger. At the same time, it provides a tiny increase in the amount of tokens you obtain.

Anniversary Cake Selection: +10% to return reward amount
This cake has been packaged for takeout and it is enough to satisfy the sweets requirement for a week. It also provides a mild increase in the amounts of tokens recovered -- may we remind the recipient not to eat the preservatives.

Sweets Explosion Box: +20% to return reward amount
A five-slice set of cake specially prepared for customers with a sweet tooth. Eating them all at once will not only cause you to explode with calories, but also moderately increase the amount of tokens you bring back. It's practically making back its investment!

Baby, B-A-B-Y: Increase chances of City Expeditions
Even when committing grand theft auto in the city, you still need to stop and buy a four-pack of coffee. But the city's always had that sort of charm, hasn't it?

Wild Honeycomb Kit: Increase chances of Forest Expeditions
Who would drink honey if they had a honeycomb to chew on? Maybe a bear would; natural honey allows a bear to recall everything about the forest, and unconsciously sets him on the path into the forest.

Kwantung Street Barbecue: Increase chances of Snowfield Expeditions
Just as how every dragonslayer needs to have a big portion of meat before setting out, this box of Kwantung Barbecue was made for those heading out to the snowfields -- of course, if you don't feel particularly hot after eating it, there's a chance you might not need to head there to cool off.

Frosty Theatre: Increase chances of Wilderness Expeditions
Apart from being placed in whisky glasses, the fate of an ice cube is to melt. This bowl of ice cream hopes that you'll take it to the desert, love it, and then let it melt.

SPECIAL EFFECTS
In the Black Market, you can trade tokens for SFX which can be applied to dolls in the Doll Index. Every Doll can take 1 SFX, and after it is applied, it will show up in the dorms and in combat.

The items we can use to boost our expeditions is literally just us giving out dolls a lunch box.

I hope they were joking about the brick toys and the acorns

I think it is somewhat sensible that special types of woods and timber became a rare commodity in a post-pocalypse setting. But why acorn?

And Legos, brick toys . . . I don't know what to say about it
