Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

SMAW is the most OP HOC so far. Has all the power and pierce of an ATW but also has 3 range. They basically obsoleted AGLs entirely and the other ATWs to a large extent.
For anyone who isn't chasing top 1% Ranking, I don't think that's a compelling reason to put up with Theater's bullshit :)

So, now that "Any-HOC Data" are a thing, can't I just use them to get more stars for that SMAW after I get the minimum necessary points that are required to unlock it?

Well, snap. I knew I couldn't unlock the new HOCs with General Data, because that one Very Chinese HOC has been sitting at four pips in my garage for a while... Oh, well, I ain't gonna lose any sleep, but I do think I'll put a bit more effort into getting the SMAW.

Well if you don't want top score in theatre (who cares) and are just aiming for at least 15% to get the required pieces, theatre is literally just "do your 2 runs a day, be able to do 2 runs of core 8 once it unlocks". Which is not that hard. From this theatre onwards you can just use SF echelons if you don't care about CE and they greatly simplify some of the nodes.

SMAW is also just significantly more convenient to use with the 3 tile range regardless of player skill level, you have much more leeway with your positioning.

I'm still psycing myself up to try Core 8. In theory I should be able to handle it, once I find some team builds I'm comfortable with, but man is all the hype making me nervous.

Much of Core 8 is the same as last time and can be handled comfortably. However, there is following that can/will make a player start grumbling:the doggo-archer team, which shreds ARSMG teams unless they are super optimized and have good mortar HOC support, and the SWAP doom stack, which calls for a specific MGSG setup, strong double mortar HOC support, and the blessing of RNGesus wrt the HOC targeting.

Do you know the details about those teams? I'd appreciate any advice I can get on core 8. It sounds like I was barking up the wrong tree on both fights.

I'd be interested in hearing about the MGSGset up, that's information I've been looking for but couldn't find

Here's the link-
Theater Guide
Scroll down to the Core 8 Archer/Dog and Core 8 SWAP Dragoon stack headers. My setup (which kinda works but is dependent on RNGesus) was HMG21 (position 7), Kord (position 4), Contender (position 5), SAT8 (position 9), DP-12 (position 6), 4 star Armor Fairy (don't use the skill, is a waste of the precious limited Fairy commands).

I knew I should've finished linking DP-12. I have her at lv 100, 4x, SL10. Close, but not strong enough I'm betting.

Sorry for the double post, but I made it. Though I do think I've got some tweaking to do. I think I should drop M14 for NTW Mod3 to help with the Minnotars, and while my anti-doggo/archer team did work, they still mostly almost died, so something needs to change there. Maybe Twin fairys instead of Warrior? Just something to keep the archers off my SMGs

But hey, 41k score thou. Depending on what the scoreboard looks like tomorrow I might just drop down to core 6, because my only goal is to stay in the top 15%. Having done core 8 at all probably is going to boost me quite a bit.

It looks like I'm not going to Core 8 today. I might be able to manage it if I fully link DP-12 and get either CAWS or M500 Mod 2+ up, so I can have two shield SGs for the Uhlan or SWAP stack team, whichever doesn't get SAT-8. CAWS should take less skill data because she only has one skill to level, but M500 Mod 2 probably takes fewer cores. Both are unlinked and at SL1, so I've got a ways to go on either.

Edit: well maybe I can BS one of the teams with a shielding HG and KSG & M590? It's worth a shot, I suppose. Between P22, Sei, and HS2000 I have three shielding HGs, which might just be enough.

I have almost everything else, though I need to put together a proper anti-archer team.

The nice thing about the Uhlan team is it works great for the Patroller too. That's a handy team comp saver.

The archers are pure cancer though. The only tips I've heard are G11 and AN-94 for the dogs, and Thompson, G36c or MP5 Mod3 with mortar support for for the Archers. At least their shields keep them from taking damage for a while.

Spamming HOCs as hard as I can is what's gotten me through every map up to this point and I have no intentions of letting Mr. Torgue down. I just wish we had a few more HOC charges. Though I suppose that's part of what makes it challenging. I'll just have to avoid using mortars on waves that don't strictly require them, like the Minotaurs and Leaping Lasers.

The night wave with dinergates and SWAP powerlers is a total gimme. Pretty much any ARSMG team can take it even without night scope. No need for HoCs there.

It seems my anti-archer echelon needs some serious improvements. There's no way I'm alpha-striking my way through the dogs before they get their shields up like I was trying to. Next I'm going to try a rear-line targeting AR/SMG team with RFB and AUG. Wish I had Angelica fully leveled and linked, but I'll work with what I've got.

The SWAP deathstack was kind of a pushover, thanks to the guide. DP-12 only being at 4x didn't even matter, she barely got hurt. Sei worked just fine as a shielder for KSG & M590. If I hadn't forgotten to micro the HG's in my anti-Minotaur team, this would've been a darn good run for Core 8, aside from the two dog/archer waves. And how long the Recce Center wave is taking. Thankfully it's the 10th wave.

Edit: Lols, my HOC's killed the furthest Recce Center before my anti-archer team (AN-94, K2, G11) killed the closest one. Definitely need OTs-14 for that wave. The ARs were all still at 5x, they just all did terribly against armor.
Edit 2: A final score of 41,196. Guess I can into Core 8 today.

Is Intruder worth spending bombing tickets on? We're getting Destroyer tomorrow and as I recall she's quite useful, so I'm planning to focus on her.
