Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

I don't think we'll see Sangvis Capture anytime soon. The implementation as it currently is really did a number on the number of active players on the KR server.

The concept of The Division collaboration being G&K plays The Division is pretty fun.

The concept of anime android gun girls killing the denizens of New York who got abandoned by the federal government due to an uncontrollable pandemic and are now fending for themselves by a shadowy government organization that contracted them to do so is pretty horrifying if you think about it too much. Never mind that M870, a police-themed shotgun seems to take glee in killing people.

Question, I was thinking on making an account soon, but I read that the sequel will come out soon and it looks like something very different, gameplay wise.

What does that mean exactly for this game?

Is the service going to end soon? Or are they planning on continuing? After all, the sequel is set 8 years later it seems so there's time to get there.
Nice to know you're taking an interest in GFL! As you might be able to surmise from my avatar, I happen to be a fan.

This is honestly a good moment to jump in, because the current limited time event (a collaboration with Tom Clancy's The Division, of all things) is doable by a complete newbie if you follow the guides and game the system. Not much tryharding required. Polarized Light, the upcoming main story event, is similarly very easy for newbies - you can brute force it with a couple of decently levelled echelons. This caused complaints from veteran players when it came out on older servers, but should be good news for newer players like you (should you choose to pick up GFL).

I'll just link this newbie guide for you:

Thanks for the info!

As of right now I'm simply waiting until I get my new phone (should be soon), then I will probably install this game and Arknights.

I loved this event. I'll put my thoughts in a spoiler, and there will be spoilers, but basically this was a fun, funny, low stakes event in which our dolls have their own fun with a game.

So first off, having the the Division be a game the Dolls are playing together was a fun move. It's a nice break from all the seriousness of the main story and lets us see a side of the characters we don't see to often. Like 45 going full manipulative backstabbing gremlin who's mostly just looking for a laugh, or M870 going hard into her 'cop' roleplay, or AK-47, SKS and A-91 rampaging around like the drunken lunatics they are. It was just great fun. Even just MDR and RFB's connection only lasting long enough for them to stomp the Commander and Kalina and not getting back in until after the event was fantastic. And just the dolls enjoying the novelty of having to eat, drink and stay warm. I loved every moment.

The farming maps are nice. I mean it feels wrong in a way that probably only exists because I've spent so long farming on maps that aren't meant to make that farming easy, but I'll probably get over it. The maps themselves are good, if a bit long, but there aren't as many so I guess it's fine on balance.

Personal favorite moment is a toss up. R93 glitching through a wall, so the seeker mine UMP9 threw locked back on to her, and then when she tried to abuse roll I-frames that I don't believe exist in The Division she got blown up by her own bomb was great. But that confrontation between M870 and VsH-94 with Vector caught middle was hilarious start to finish, especially when VsH just fucking snapped. Even just K5 trying to rip the shoes off R93's feet had me in stitches, though that might've been because I never realized what they meant about K5 having calm appearance but fire for blood. She's an absolute menace and I love her for it. There was more then a few fists fights after that game was over, lemme tell ya.

But then there's also the faces, the face game this event was on point. Drunk AK-47 and SKS? Gold. Annoyed MP7? Diamonds. Unjustly smug Type-97? Love it. PP-90's dying of hunger face? You bet your ass I laughed like a mad man. Oh my god that added so much to the dialog and characterization and I desperately want more.

What, the maps? Eh, they were okay. I liked that I could yeet twenty grenades at something I didn't like and to make it go away. And having that Incinerator chase after AAR556 and P7 while getting them to craft a gasmask was a neat way to mix story and gameplay. But the writing was just so topnotch here I forget everything else.

Just keep stuff like this coming, I love it to bits. 10 outta 10, would traverse the frozen, plague ridden hellhole of Manhattan while chased by hordes of goons with guns again.

Huh. Despite ditching significantly before the end, I still hit the 31-40% bracket on Theater 3 :)

I ended up with 4% in total score and 8% for the final battle for Theater 3. I had a relatively easy time at Core 8 though getting more than 2 minotaurs thrown at me definitely made me sweat a bit.

How weird is the fact that I finished the second mission (00:07 New York Public Library) just today? Turns out, there are two new T-Dolls in this collab, not just one.

Speaking of new T-Dolls, one of the "Police" team was a face I didn't recognize. Is she from some later event?

Yay, Vepr is coming! I've been anticipating her about as much as I'm anticipating the Sangvis Capture feature.

Something I've been meaning to ask for a while now. With Protocol Assimilation coming sometime in the near future, they also are gonna make it possible to get more than 10 dorms right?

Are those dorms going to cost as much as the tenth one you can get now (980 diamonds)? Or is it gonna be more expensive than that?

And are those extra dorms going to make people give more than 10 batteries when somebody else goes to their dorm?

I think we'll get upto 4 specialized Dorm slots for Capture units, iirc. As for Gem Costs and battery drops, I don't know; one of the players with an account on the older servers would know something about that.

The number of echelons and dorms will be expanded to 14.

- Starting number of echelon slots gets expanded to 6 (doesn't apply if you already bought extra echelons)
- Echelon and dorm limit is expanded to 14
- Echelons can be used for either SF or normal dolls, but you're capped at a certain number of SF echelons (3 IIRC)
- There's no such thing as a specialized echelon slot
- No change to gem costs
