3 weeks, pretty sure. With any event, you can always scroll through the banners in the bottom left of the main screen and see what the time remaining in days and hours are to know when it ends, and that usually covers everything from point events to campaigns to costume banners.

Well, other servers just had a collab event with The Division, so I suspect that's what we'll be getting next since collabs tend to happen across all servers in fairly rapid succession, probably for copyright deal reasons or something like that which goes right over my head. No doubt we'll know for sure what's coming up soon in the next few days when a January roadmap is posted.
 


First we're getting another batch of Neural Upgrades now that everyone spent all their fragments, then a point event. Then we get the next main chapter, so that'll be fun. After that it's Theater Mode season 3, yikes.

Speak of the devil on roadmaps happening, huh? Guess I could finally spend my 900+ sim energy if I really want to stay caught up on neural upgrades.
 
Anyone know how good LWMMG mod is? Looks like we getting her mood next month
Iirc her mod brings her up to around Big 4 levels of relevance? She's already the only 2* MG even remotely worth a damn, so an upgrade can only make her better. Not sure if she's as relevant with when we're getting her mod though, since by this point Kord is available and I think LWMMG is one of those we got severely delayed compared to other servers, instead of say Calico who we got multiple events early.

I don't know if it's just me but does it seem like outside of niche situations (maybe Theater or if you needed long-range building destruction, flexing how well you did in Theater) additional HOCs just seem kinda...there. Like a new AGL is nice but outside of maybe popping Paradeus shields I don't see why I'd need anything other than AGS.
 
Current MG team is Lewis, PKP, and M1895CB. I also have M2 on standby and Kord currently unlevelled due to only getting her recently.
Those are all very good MGs aready. For pretty much all purposes other than the terror that is Polarized Light ranking, you could just keep those.

If you are going to aim for PL ranking...drop Lewis and PKP for Kord and LWMMG MOD I guess? Kord is the one really big must have for PL ranking.

I think Mica has tried to give the alternative options some kind of niche, for the most part? Like how BGM is just "FIRE BIG FUCKIN MISSILES" and there's no better option for raw shield breaking, but AT4 has added DoT effects and accuracy debuffs to make up for its lower piercing stat. Even then, there's always just raw map coverage in ranking maps, since deploying HOCs doesn't take up normal echelon slots, all HOCs have 1 vision during night maps to scout tiles, and can be swapped with other units for free movement the same as a regular dummy echelon can. Really the only advantage a straight dummy echelon has is things like slapping on spare strategic fairies like parachute, illumination, or landmine for some additional map control, while even the less useful HOCs are still providing additional firepower to any combat in their range. With how mixed up the paths between nodes get on some ranking maps, wouldn't be surprised if you can bring 5 or 6 full HOCs to fights where you absolutely want to demolish your framerate a difficult boss.

Quite frankly the Big 4 as a concept is becoming very dated at this point. I wouldn't even say there's a new Big 4 or anything, note how every other class doesn't have this idea of "these are 4 best in-class dolls and they make everyone else look bad" and this is despite how some classes have actually seen dominance by a few select dolls for way longer than the Big 4 have been relevant.

Anyway, LWMMG mod gets a punchy first volley (in fact she starts matching PK once crit damage buffs or enemy evasion get factored in) but Hunting Impulse has always been shit for the 2nd volley onwards due to the long cooldown. The real highlight of her mod is of course the shield which is guaranteed to be at least 30 HP on a 3 second initial timer and potentially up to 75 HP. Good synergy with SAT8 and DP-12 because the RNG shield procs can cover for their downtime (Note that the way shields work the oldest applied shield layer always takes damage first). Solid defensive buff and strong first volley damage -> okayish damage in extended fights.

As for whether you should mod her... well, probably? That we got her this late is a bit unfortunate because she has to compete with a lot of good MGs right now. She's good, the main concern in modding is basically whether you'll actually find a place to use her over Kord/M1895CB/RPK/etc.

Excuse me, literally no one would use AGS over AT4 if she didn't have 3 range. In fact that's exactly what happened with SMAW, she got 3 range and everyone basically ditched AGS. QLZ is more of a sidegrade to AGS, more damage for less ROF. That said, there's really no reason not to level her given how HOC levelling is basically on a completely different track and doesn't really interfere with levelling your other stuff.

Yeah, with the "Big 4" comparison I meant more it brings her up to a base statline/damage output to be competitive with them, since in general it seems MG units need to be either at least as relevant as the classic Big 4, or have specific skills and niches like Negev or Kord in order to not be worthless scrap. I actually didn't know her second skill was a shield buff before it was brought up in thread though; it sounds like that alone would be reason to field her Mod, even aside from it bringing her up to PK levels of damage.

Have we gotten RPK on EN yet? I don't see her in the Index, but sometimes I just overlook obvious things.

Agreed, AGS is the least useful of my 5-star HOC's (i.e. everyone but AT4). The mortars are better at clearing crowds of unshielded enemies and BGM is my go-to for shield breaking. I guess AGS is pretty good against lightly shielded enemies that spawn in groups, like the leaping laser Paradeus enemies, but that's a pretty small niche. That said, having AGS is better than not having a HOC, so she's not useless on EN at the moment.

Thanks for the info on QLZ. Skill training HOC's competes with skill training dolls and fairies, so I'll probably only level QLZ's skills to 4 unless there's a good reason to do otherwise. I'm perpetually short of intermediate and advanced training data.
 
Theater 3 is up today!

The HOC you earn through it is supposedly very lackluster, but you get rewards like HOC combat reports and data for doing it.

Also there's some kind of betting thing? You can get rewards for betting on whether A, B, or C is voted on the least.

i have no idea if i am ready for core 8 enemies for this theatre. The enemy line up appears to be more dangerous compared to last time.
