Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

I have to admit, I'm a much bigger fan of the target practice mode than I'd thought I'd be. I really like being able to freely test builds against event bosses as a stress test.

So I'm a bit excited about this Gunslinger Girl crossover event. That might be because I haven't read/watched GG, and have no idea of the feels it's capable of inflicting.

Anyway, I've heard somewhere that the crossover units have the exact same stats as the T-dolls with the same weapons. After that I looked closely, and noticed that practically all of them are at least not-bad. Isn't that cool?

When does the event begin? I am waiting for it lol. Eh gunsliger girl is a nice manga, IT has tons and tons of feels.

I never read the manga.

I watched the first couple of episodes of the anime at a convention.

The director could not into pacing; from what I remember, the same gunfight got replayed in whole or in part from several different perspectives.

Yo! could some of you guys tell me if you know what is the song of this?.

I liked it. And now i want to hear it complete, or know who sings this.

That's the Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino / Season 2 Opening, "Tatta Hitotsu no Omoi".

Finished binging GSG to prep for the collab today, still not ready for the feels. Apparently all the collab costumes reference depresso scenes from the manga, and the show only covers the first 1/3 or so.

Gunslinger Girl ads are everywhere! What year is this? I'm very tempted to play this game again because of it. Sadly, there are not enough hours in one day.

I think I just have to settle for watching the cutscenes later from youtube let's play videos.

Ceia has graced us with gameplay videos for ALL THREE of the upcoming GFL games!

First, for Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery (the HD remake of Bakery Girl). For those who don't know, this takes place about 30 years after the events of GFL...at which point, both Griffon & Kryuger and Sangvis Ferri have long since petered out into nothing but memories.

I've never played Advance Wars, but I'm given to understand it plays very similarly to Advance Wars.

Second up is Girls Frontline: Project Neural Cloud. A prequel in which the MC is Persica. It's a...roguelike auto-chess game? I don't really get it myself.

I guess it's supposed to occupy the same space GFL currently occupies on the market, once the story of GFL is concluded? I'll probably give this game a pass tbh.

And last but not least, gameplay footage for Girls Frontline 2: Exilium!

  • It sure looks like an XCOM clone, and that's pretty awesome.
  • Here, we're fighting what appears to be a bunch of gas mask wearing post-apocalyptic grunge scavengers. There's a giant mech that appears as a boss battle.
  • The 3D models are fairly detailed.
  • A "morale" system is in play: by killing your enemies and staying alive, you can increase your own morale and degrade theirs. Decrease their morale enough and they will be stunned.
  • Attacks do slight "grazing damage" even if they miss - both yours and the enemy's.
  • Our T-dolls have actual names now! They still carry the weapons they were originally named for, however.
    • OTs-14 is in the video, as "Groza."
    • UMP9 is in the video, as "Reina."
      • UMP9 is allegedly no longer contracted to Task Force 404.
      • The rest of Task Force 404 is nowhere to be seen.

All the gameplay info currently known is compiled here.

Ah, blast.

Shattered Connexion comes out tomorrow. And I haven't been grinding because the stupid client refuses to install the update beyond 90.01%.

I was gonna suggest switching from wifi to mobile, or vice versa. Sometimes my client would get a bug up its butt about the wifi. And yeah, uninstall/reinstall is always a good bet.

I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, as well as deleting stuff from my phone.

At this rate, my best bet is the crazy solution posted by Ceia that involves messing around with the game files on the phone.

The only other thing I can think of is to check your phone's OS and make sure it's a version the game is compatible with. I ran into that with Pokemon Go about 5 years ago.

If your phone doesn't support a new enough OS for the game, the only option I know of is to get a Droid emulator on a computer and play the game through that. AFAIK Droid is open source, so emulators for it are legal.

Ugh, Operation Defang I - Combat was infuriating. The "tip" of "use the enemies' weaknesses to kill them quickly to avoid heavy damage from the enemy's fire support" was just insulting. AFAIK they're fucking armored, evasive enemies at night. They don't have god damned weaknesses, so far as I know. Thankfully "overwhelming firepower" aka gunboats still worked well for everything but the archers and the 30k mech stack, and I was able to avoid the archers inside the enemy's HOC cover and the 30k mech stack.

Thankfully I never have to deal with that map again, though I doubt that's the last time I'll be forced to fight inside the enemy's HOC range.

I stopped bothering with trying to go for S-ranks in events and just settled for map completion especially if it's EX maps.

S-ranks don't even give you anything for event maps. It's not really worth bothering with especially with how field repairs are essential in some of the harder maps.

None of the enemies in that map have evasion + armor except for the minotaurs (the green mecha). Though if you're wondering what the weaknesses are:

Minotaurs: Super tanky mecha that have 80% damage reduction while they put their guards up. Not really much weaknesses here other than nuking them while their shields are down.

Orthos: What the tip was referring to, they're unarmoured enemies but have a skill that causes them to take 1 damage as long as their shields are not destroyed. If you destroy their shield they suffer a backlash that deletes most of their HP.

Archers: Get fucked because these guys have 50 evasion

Everything else is bog standard KCCO that you should already be familiar with

That said you only actually have to do 2 fights to win the map and both are fights that gunboats are well suited to handle.

It gives another shot at the exclusive drops and another medal, though I only really care when I'm completing maps for loot crates or farming.

I had to use a quick repair after fighting one of the Orthos/Archer groups with a gunboat, which got my HG torn up pretty badly because the MGs had to reload. Still got an S rank, strangely enough.

No, the tip was quite explicitly referring to not getting turbo fucked by the enemy fire support train. I'm certain of that because it essentially said "kill all the enemies before the attacks from the enemy's fire support arrive to avoid dying."

The only thing remotely like a weakness that you described is the Orthoses' lack of armor, despite them looking like the KCCO's armored units. I was playing the normal map, not the EX one, so I didn't fight anything but Archers, Minotarus, and Orthoses. I could've fought the Pathfinder production base to take the heliport, but that fight would've been hell with a gunboat so I just doubled back to the command post after rescuing the target.

Yes, and it's talking about exploiting the enemy's weaknesses to kill them fast. I'm telling you what those weaknesses are.

Yes, most of them can't really be killed quickly enough to avoid getting blasted, because you weren't supposed to fight them (the problem is the map is also a bait and switch and a lot of people fell for the bait)

On EX you only needed to fight two nodes, both of which could be easily handled by gunboat.

1. I've beaten the main event, all on EX and got all the intel points, and mostly without guides. Happy about that, but not exactly looking forward to the Ranking map. Doing my farming, but not having much luck with drops. Had to buy Kord and SGG is looking to be the same.

2. New batch of Neural Upgrades on the old servers!

PP-19, M1897 and, saving the best for last, Galil! Only PP-19 has a full preview yet, the other two are just teasers.

Mmm Galil thighs
