Ok, I think some of my knowledge is still incomplete.

We have 4 (6). Once the voting for this mid-turn is done, it will decay to 4 (5). King of the Hill takes us to 4 (6). Then the main turn begins. If we select the Great Marketplace, it'll take us down to 4 (4). Since it's the main turn, we can't do any actions to increase Temp Diplo alongside it, so it'll stay 4 (4) as we go into the new mid-turn, so it will end the golden age.

@10ebbor10 can you tell me which part of that calculation is incorrect?

Midturn: 4 (6), temp decay 4 (5), King of the Hill 4 (6), Diplomatic Expedition 4 (7). Main turn: 4 (7), Great Marketplace 4 (5). Midturn: 4 (5).

This plan will keep us in the golden age while doing diplomacy with the guys who have a double hero, have recently ballooned in power, and who we refused a diplomatic deal with recently. Also I'm pretty sure we have worse relations with them than with the Urthdysh so they're higher priority anyway.

You select Golden Age bonuses during the Mid-Turn not the Main Turn.

So, to end this confusion, what happens is this?

4(6) --> Spend 2 --> 4(4) --> Decay --> 4(4) --> KOTH--> 4(5)

Does the Golden Age fail or not, because I'm lost completely.

That is what happens with the calculation on whether nor the Golden Age continues or ends taking place after the King of the Hill calculation. As a result, the Golden Age would not end under those circumstances.

Wait, how is 10ebbor10 right in this case? Don't decay and statuses apply at the start of the turn? That is, before any actions take place?

Decay and statuses take place between actions, which would be after the Mid-Turn actions and before the Main Turn actions. You can see this in action in the current update where the decay and statuses have been applied, but you have yet to pick your Main Turn actions.

I don't? It is pretty clear on what happens and accurately describes things.
Yeah, right, just had to restructure some things in my mind. Thought there are some things you should delete.
[] [SEC/MAIN] Build Boats.
[] [SEC/MAIN] Plant Cash Crops,
[] [SEC/MAIN] Plant Sacred Forests,
[] [SEC/MAIN] Study Magic.
[] [SEC/MAIN] Study Metal.
Each of these actions from the action list has punctuation at the end. The punctuation should be removed.

Why study magic? We want to get library magic for Wyrn! This may be organizing, finding, or remembering books and their information.

Would be neat if we could just copy a whole book.

If you want library magic you should switch your Diplomatic Expedition to the Forluc, or else pick a different action altogether. As is, the action combo of DE to the Urthdysh plus Study Magic would instead have us do some kind of joint magical venture with the Urthdysh, maybe study Ulgoran.

We should not study magic this turn. Diplomacy is a higher priority and so is building up our army. We should do one of those two things, not increase our mystical knowledge, not at this stage.
