People we will hurt ourselves here. Better not mess with Legitimacy or we may face rebellion at home.

Ad to that if can't deal with this then we won't amount much in term of civ.

[X] Let them be and not escalate the situation futher. (-1 Prestige, Maradysh may no longer be a vassal of the Arthwyd, ???)

Why fight a war?

Yeah, we can't afford that. We really, really can't afford that. Give an inch and they'll take a mile, especially with how enthusiastic they are in war.

What you're proposing is to attack a fortified village defended by 2 military heroes, while we have no siege techniques and no martial heroes.

That's going to end up in a slaughter. Even if you believe that the enemy will attack us, the safer, smarter thing to do is to wait. Their heroes will age, and they'll have to attack us on our ground, giving us the defensive advantage.

We have 4/3 legitimacy. That threat is non existent.

[X] Recognise the new Cadlon of the Maradysh as their new leader, (-1 Legitimacy, -2 Prestige, Maradysh are no longer a vassal of the Arthwyd,)

even if we win the war we end up in a situation close to the current one having a vassal that does not like us.
They have a single village so we can expand far faster and try to get them back under our control later by diplomacy or if that fails with a war once their martial hero dies of old age.

Attacking them without a Martial Hero of our own is foolish.

Expect that we will lose legitimacy and prestige.

...well, I'm not above admitting when I'm wrong.
It seems as though the Goddesses (and the Dice Gods) disapprove of this vassal, regardless of our actions. So away they shall go.

Why are people letting them be they are not gonna leave us alone they will only get stronger and come for our head in time why let that happen when we can kill it in its infancy before they are a threat to greenbay itself.

Which we have in abundance. In fact, we're over the cap, which is bad, because it means the leader can not be questioned.

Look there will be other civs out there that will expand, if we can't keep territory at this stage we might as well give up.

One rebellion and you guys are just giving up, that's basically a precedent to leave our enemies be only for them to come back every time.

Time to rethink our plans and stances. The crown is not worth our character.

It's less the hit on Legitimacy and Prestige that I'm afraid of and more the precedent of a vassal breakaway without any resistance. That implies an acceptance of separatism and will probably result in a negative value that just accepts independence if enough people wanted it.

Long story short, that path lays balkanization. Fuck to the hell no with that crap.

Look this is bad precedent, if we let them go one day other power will appear and pick us all one by one.

That is not a problem with those of our culture, because the Arthwyd culture is highly communal in nature. The People stick together.
The Maradysh were notably not considered to be People though, and thus it won't be an issue with those of our culture group.

The legitimacy hit likely comes from having to admit as a people that Evelyn (who is considered essentially untouchable) made a mistake.

You're proposing attacking a fortified village defended by a martial hero with a society which doesn't have any siege tech. The enemy will slaughter our troops, and then they'll counterattack while our forces are in shambles.

Look there will be other civs out there that will expand, if we can't keep territory at this stage we might as well give up.

You're making the mistake of assuming that military expansion is the best or only way to expand.

It's not. The amount of actions that we're going to spend to try and win this war, and then all the future actions we'll need to keep the rebellious vassal under our thumb (they won't suddenly like us because we murdered them again) is going to be significant. It'd be far better to spend those actions on home-grown development.

We were on a good way, it was a bad roll that messed it all up.
