Catching Victory (A Pokemon Quest)

[X] (Field Medic) Use one potion to heal your pokemon to 70-75 health.

No need to use too much, I think, stuff in this zone we can deal with through some careful switches.

I like that we didn't have to do a vote for every battle, otherwise each story arc would take forever. :)

Gotta always do at least some healing, in case of strong encounters.

Wonder Cave Part 3
You take out a potion bottle and start applying it to your pokemon's wounds. They're all in fighting shape.

As you walk further into the cave. Even with your flashlight, making your way through is tough. The darkness of the cave seems to swallow the light whole. As you continue to traverse the cave, you hear Cascoon yelling. Turning your flashlight towards him, you see a wild Cubone swinging at Cascoon with their club.

Wild Cubone wants to fight!

[] Try to catch.
[] Try to defeat it.

[] Neptune
[] Cascoon
[] Philosoraptor.

Pretty sure it wears it's actual mothers skull. The wiki says
Cubone is a small, bipedal Pokémon with a golden brown hide that covers most of its body, including both dorsal spikes. Its belly is a very light brown. Two small claws, one on each hand, serve as its thumbs, and two large nails make up its toes. On its head, Cubone wears the skull of its dead mother as a helmet. Because of this, much of its actual face has never actually been seen, except for its triangular, black eyes and a small area surrounding them. The skull has two rounded horns on the top of its head and a tooth-like point on the lower sides. Under the skull, Cubone has a brown snout. The small Cubone survives only through the immense skill it possesses in wielding the bone it carries as a weapon. The bone allows it to learn Bone Club and Bonemerang, two moves exclusive to Cubone and its evolution Marowak.
It is called the Lonely Pokémon because of its tendency to keep to itself and avoid social situations, as it was apparently traumatized by the death of its mother. Cubone will often weep at night in mourning of its mother. When Cubone cries, the skull that it wears on its head vibrates and emits "a plaintive and mournful sound." On the night of a full moon, the cries are said to be especially terrible. Cubone seems to recognize its mother in the moon, and so it howls with a particular sadness. It lives in rocky areas, usually on mountains or in caves. It also once inhabited the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town where deceased Pokémon were buried and mourned.
Since the evolved form, the Marowak, has the skull bonded to it's head when it evolves, and all mothers, as adults, are probably Marowaks, it makes sense to me that it's the actual mother's skull.

Cascoon tackles the Cubone, knocking her into a rock. Cubone counterattacks by swinging her bone at Cascoon.

"Neptune! Help Cascoon but don't knock Cubone out!" You yell. The Horsea nods and dives into the fray. You try to keep your flashlight steady on Cubone during the fight.

Cascoon shoots the Cubone with String Shot aimed at her feet. The shot hits the pokemon's feet, pinning her to the ground. Almost immediately afterwards, Neptune hops at Cubone and headbutts her.

She reels from the blow but still grabs Neptune and lifts him off of the ground, only to slam him back down head-first. With Neptune stunned from the blow, Cascoon tackles the Cubone. The two start start brawling, trading blows Neptune joining in when he recovers. Of course, Cubone is outnumbered and quickly overwhelmed.

You toss the pokeball at the Cubone. Seeing it coming, it leaps out of the way and the pokeball tumbles into the darkness. The Cubone charges at Cascoon one more time, striking him with her Bone Club before you fish out another pokeball and toss it, this one hitting it's mark.

The pokeball draws the Cubone into it and lands on the ground. One shake, two shakes, three shakes and the pokeball lets out a beep.

Satisfied, you pick up the pokeball containing your newly acquired Cubone. Putting it on your belt for now, you try to find your lost pokeball, but try as you might, you can't find it. Maybe you just missed it, maybe it was taken by a wild pokemon, but either way, you're out two pokeballs.

Giving up, you decide to keep exploring.

You've caught a Cubone!

[] Don't nickname.

That battle took some energy out of your pokemon. You could use another potion to heal then, especially Cubone, since she's the most injured. Of course, you could keep going.

[] (Field Medic) Use one potion to heal your pokemon to 60-75 health.

Wonder Cave Part 4
"Joan" You decide. "That'll be a good nickname"

You open Joan's pokeball. She narrows her eyes at you, still rubbing her still injured shoulder. You start talking to her while applying the potion. At least as much as you can talk to her while you can only make an approximation of what she's saying.

Eventually you finish healing your pokemon and start moving. You notice Joan looking around. At her surroundings and then at your other pokemon.

You continue to move through the cave. Once again, your flashlight proves useful. You encounter wild pokemon there but they don't seem interested in a fight so they either scatter or stay where they are, watching you. As you continue, you notice a lot of rubble on the ground. Even more than usual. Like someone's been smashing rocks here.

After who knows how long searching the cave, you see a light near the ceiling. Pointing your flashlight towards it. You see another ladder, this one leading upward through a hole. You hear a two men talking but you can't make out what they're saying from where you are. You climb in the ladder to climb upwards.

"Horsea..."

"Cas Cas"

Then you look down, at Neptune and Cascoon. Given that neither have arms, climbing a ladder would be... difficult. Recalling them to their pokeballs, you continue to climb upwards. Joan climbs up after you while Philosoraptor opts to fly up.

"... but how can we actually get it to emerge?" You hear a voice say as you climb up the ladder.

"I dunno man. I'm just hear to bust open rocks" You hear another voice say. This one is more gruff.

As you climb out of the hole, you come to a small room. Or at least it would be a room if it was man made. It's a small portion of the cave without any way in or out besides the ladder you're climbing. In the middle site a blue stone easily twice the size of Cascoon. There are also two men there, a scientist and someone who is apparently Deven.

Deven towers over the scientist with him, easily being over 6 feet. He has long blond hair that reaches to his thigh. You wonder exactly how practical that would be to a martial artist but he could probably still kick your ass, hair or not. He's also sporting a goatee. He's wearing a black gi with a blacker belt with several pokeballs and great balls hanging off of it. He's leaning against the wall of the cave as he observes the scientist.

Speaking of which, the scientist looks like every other scientist you've seen. Dark hair and glasses. Wearing a lab coat, slacks, and dress shoes. He is scanning the stone with some sort of device. Looks like a handheld scanner attached to a box with various dials and numbers on display. You can't even begin to guess what it scans for, or why he would be scanning a rock with it. Some other high tech equipment which must have been heavy to move sits in a corner, either waiting to be used or already used.

"That may prove necessary after all..." The scientist laments. Suddenly the scanner that the scientist is holding starts going wild, letting out a high pitched beep. The numbers fluctuate wildly while the dials start going back and forth erratically. You take a step back, almost falling back in the hole. If this thing blows up, you don't want to be around.

Philosoraptor back into the hole, resting on the top rung of the ladder, just peeking her head out. Joan doesn't seem that bothered by it. Maybe she's seen this before.

"What the..." The scientist seems to be thinking the same thing as you were, dropping the scanner and backing away. Deven simply raises an eyebrow but doesn't react beyond that. "Wait..."

He then turns around and sees you.

"Are you doing this?" He asks.

What kind of question is that? Of course not. You think.

"I don't think so." You say.

"Well whatever's happening, it's working. Quick! Put your hand on the stone!"

[] Sure. What's the worse that could happen?
[] No! I've seen this movie. I don't want to get sent to hell!
