You throw the pokeball at the Unown. Your other pokemon start at it, ready to start fighting if, or when the Unown breaks free. Thankfully, the pokeball stops shaking and beeps, signifying that you've caught them.
"Yes!" You cheer when the pokeball stops shaking. Joan and Neptune sigh in relief, Joan leaning against her club for support.
"Why didn't you catch it?" The scientist scolds Deven. "You were supposed to catch it. That was part of our deal!"
"I wanted to see how good this guy was." Deven shrugs. He doesn't even stop leaning against his wall. "Besides, it looks like he got it." He gestures to you.
"But that Unown was the reason I came out here!" The scientist angrily yells at Deven. He grabs the taller man's gi and pulls him down so they are eye to eye. "Without that Unown, our lab's doesn't get funding and if that happens, we're screwed! I! NEED! THAT! UNOWN!" He's practically growling at Deven now. If his skin starts turning green, you're gone.
"I suggest you let go" Deven says calmly. "You don't want to do anything you'll regret."
The scientist seems to calm down after that. He releases Deven, who just straightens out his gi. The scientist meanwhile takes a deep breath before turning towards you. "I'm sorry about that. My name is Doctor Julius Henley." He introduces himself, offering a hand. Hesitantly, you shake it before he continues.
"You see, I came here because I was hoping to study Unown. I'm sure you know that Unown, in large groups are capable of utilizing great power, even compared to other pokemon of similar, or even greater strength! The Greenfield Phenomenon fifteen years ago is a testament to that fact. I was hoping to study this. Even if we are unable to harness this power ourselves, understanding how it works could have profound applications in other fields!" He says enthusiastically.
"Of course, I will need an Unown to study anything about their abilities and I understand if you don't want to give it up. But my laboratory has a certain degree of autonomy over what it spends it's funding on. Especially if it contributes to the goals of our research. If you turn over the Unown to our lab, I will make sure that a substantial amount of those funds will be made available to you."
[] Of course!
- [] I am always willing to help the cause of science. (Give Dr. Henley the Unown and get money.)
- [] I am always willing to help the cause of profit. (Give Dr. Henley the Unown and get money.)
[] Exactly how much compensation are we talking?
[] Sorry. I can't give you this Unown because...
- [] I want it.
- [] You seem more than a little unstable.
- [] (Researcher) The Greenfield Phenomenon could have ended worse than it did. We don't need to take another chance and actually kill people this time.
