Can You Feel the Sunshine? (A Sonic the Hedgehog Quest)

Wow, okay. the upgrades we did to stats certainly made sonic faster and hit harder. Even against these weaker enemies it's very clear Sonic is stronger than before.

[X] Go back to that giant ring.
-[X] There's still a Badnik remaining. Destroy it to release the Flicky inside, then run to defeat the snake you previously jumped over.

[X] Alright, no more being subtle. Hit anything that remotely seems metallic and let the Flickies free while you run to the ring.

[X] "Heads up, bucket of bolts!" crashes into machine.
-[X] "Sorry pal, but I got to take you down. Take this!"
-[X] "Hm, something doesn't seem right. I was the one to kick ass, yet why am I seeing birds around my head?"

Curios to see whether the Ring is also connected to the Chaos emeralds.
I never played Sonic 3D blast, so I don't know, lol.

Robotnik Files 9 - The Kingdom of Acorn - Underdog Emiya
Robotnik Files 9 - The Kingdom of Acorn

It's no secret to anyone with half a brain cell that Mobians and humans don't have the best relations through the centuries. Open a history book for fifth grade students, and you will see it a long list of bloody conflicts between humanity and them, most that ended with both sides in shambles.

Which begs the question: why did Ivo Robotnik decided that the best way to avoid being imprisioned was to hide in the side of the world where more than half the population would like to see you dead?

I already narrated my earlier exploits with Snively, and how did we escape GUN's annoying spies and escaped to the distant Kingdom of Acorn, one of the few places where we would find solace from our pursuers.

Truth of the matter, I wasn't thinking in hiding in there at first. For the longest time, I had been gathering resources to build a base in an isolated island close to the isles I attempted to invade. However, Snively - be blessed his mind - pointed out that there would be no way to gather certain resources for the mass production of our forces -at least not with GUN scouring through land for us. Thus, making contact with an allied force was essential. Thankfully, I knew just the right place.

When I was younger, I had made great efforts to look for mentors that could allow me to further expand my potential. One such mentor was a certain Nate Morgan, a former GUN head scientist. For once, being named Julian Kintobor proved to be a blessing as, while Nate knew Gerald Robotnik, he didn't connect the dots on my true identity, meaning that once I managed to get his goodwill, he had no restraint in teaching a 'future genius' what he knew. I learned a lot from him, but not much about his former occupation, which had been one of my hopes. However, Nate commented about one of his missions when one day we talked about Mobians: he and some of his subordinates were once sent to the Kingdom of Acorn as an attempt to make a connection between them and the United Federation. While they were well-received, there were too many differences in opinions to make a deal work and that idea died there. However, I understood that talk was possible, and it wouldn't be too hard to make a sad backstory to touch their strings.

It was what happened with King Maximillian. A very popular and wise king, it would be hard to fool him by normal means. However, he also has a temper. By altering the truth of what happened ever so slightly, we gave the impression of being victims to the acts of humans - which angered the fair, idiotic, ruler. A forged assault against the poor Kintobors by "GUN" machines furthered this image, leading to a isolation politic in protest -which was an even better result than I expected, as, even if those fools discover about my tutelage with Morgan, their protests will not reach the king.

As a gesture of 'gratitude', Snively and Julian decided to work in improving the kingdom. With the help of one of Sir Charles, an admittedly rather smart hedgehog (breathe in, breathe out, he's not him) Mobian, we created the SWATBots, machines to terraform the land, machines to protect the city, machines to improve health...you get the point. In a few months, the capital city of Mobotropolis almost had a different face. It was admittedly relaxing to be able to create without having to look over my shoulder from time to time for spies.

But not everything is alright in the Kingdom. One person suspects of me and Snively's presence, despite all our efforts: the snotty-nosed royal brat, Sally Acorn. She didn't like me from day one, and early on did all she could to watch us two for any signs of "evil things." That idiot. Early on, we asked for additional pieces for our machines in case something didn't go right and then dispatched anything that remained to our lairs around the world, no way she could catch on that. It was rather amusing to hear from our bugs when her father ordered her to stop doing that and get taken down a peg. Ah, it was so releasing to have her shake my hand as I donate a few medical devices to the hospital out of kindness from my heart! Hahahaha...!

(Coughes) I'm getting a bit out of line. The point is, through our time in the Kingdom of Acorn, we gathered enough resources for mass production of Badniks and lost enough heat that it became feasible to launch the first step of our domination campaign. So, under the pretext of taking a vacation, I started my moves and...well, do I need even to tell?! MOkdsfdsdfnsijssvinijg...I hate that hedgehog.

Adds some nice extra details onto the whole picture. Worth 2/4th of a Character Point.

[ ] Canon.
[ ] Non-canon.
This is only to be answered by Underdog Emiya themselves.

Anyways, lost all my progress on the latest update and am currently being extremely new to my care work job, so yeah that's a whole thing that slowed me down considerably as I get used to that. That and using my spare time thinking up an original story and setting for myself that will likely be a months in the making I'm affectionally calling "Punking".

All in all, depending on how things go at work as there's a transfer for myself going on right now I might be back onto the quest soon enough, or perhaps not. It depends.

25th of August #3 Green Grove Zone: Act 1 #3

If that's the case... What's the harm in taking a few detours to kick these hunk of junks into pieces? The Flickies follow you closely behind as you run towards the last Badnik to destroy in this area.

Sonic runs 10.25/15 yards towards the Hunter.

Hunter notices you, does nothing on their turn.

Sonic runs 15/15 yards towards the Hunter.

You do nothing on your turn as you arrive, not wanting to risk an unwieldly Spin Attack against it.

The Hunter still looks at you, floating and doing nothing on their turn.

You stop right before deciding to crash into the... Strangely shaped Badnik. "Same shade of purple that I've seen from the other ones. Did I come here too fast for ol' Egghead or what?" It just stares at you as you say that, unmoving as the spikes ball silently floats around it in a circular pattern. "Yo, you broken?"

It continues doing nothing.

"You know, if I didn't have the weight of needing to save my friends and Freedom Fighter on my shoulders, seeing this might've made me wait an extra few weeks before coming here." You sigh at that before deciding to get this over with.

You perform a Jump Dash at the Hunter #3d6 = (6+3+5) 14. Hit!

Hunter is unable to dodge!

Roll for damage for Hunter #1d6 = 2*1.5 = 3 Damage.

Hunter: -1/2HP. Hunter explodes!

4/5 Flickies obtained.

You dash across the air, whizzing past the floating spike ball and slashing across the entire Badnik, giving a wink to the Flicky inside that jumps out.

"Then again, maybe I'm just too good now and Egghead can't keep up the pace?"

That settles that, might as well leave towards the path you didn't take earlier-

Blue Shield - They protect you from 1 single hit and then disappear. They last for the duration of the Stage.

Whoops! Right, can't forget about this! You run up to the box that was behind the Badnik and kick it, causing a familiar blue bubble to form around yourself. "Sweet."

When going through areas you have already went through, no random encounters occur!

Sonic runs 10.25/20 yards to get out of the large area.

Enhanced Move (Ground) 1 activates!

Sonic runs 30.75/20 yards to get out of the large area, now on the narrow path Sonic is 10.75/30 yards towards that original turn you took.

As you speed up, you notice that the birds seem to be able to pick pace with you. Wait, why are you even surprised? They're birds, of course they can!

Well, for now. You'll get way faster than just any birds someday. You know that.

Sonic runs 31.25/30 yards towards that original turn, encountering a Snake you originally left behind on the way momentarily stops you at 20 yards,

Sonic uses a Spin Attack on the Snake to keep running #3d6 = (6+6+5) 17. Critical Failure!

Critical Unarmed Miss Table #3d6 = (6+2+6) 14 – You stumble; see 7. 7 – You stumble. On an attack, you advance one yard past your opponent and end your turn facing away from him; he is now behind you! On a parry, you fall down; see 8.

Due to a critical failure, Sonic is now at 21/30 yards and loses Enhanced Move (Ground) 1.

Snake goes on the offensive with a swipe of their tail #3d6 = (3+5+1) 9. Fails to hit!

You attack with a Jump Dash at the Snake behind you #3d6 = (6+3+4) 13. Hit!

Snake tries to flail out of the way #3d6 = (3+2+6) 11. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake #1d6 = 5*1.5 = 7 Damage.

Snake: -5/2HP. Snake explodes!

5/5 Flickies obtained.

Running up towards the Snake you left behind earlier, you decide to spin yourself towards your target!

"Heads up, bucket of bolts!"

And then you completely whiff it.

Stumbling as you completely hit the dirt, the Badnik behind you take their chance to strike at you with their spiked body. Though they miss on making their attack.

Seriously, for this to happen right after what you said earlier!? Ah shoot, and right in front of the Flickies too! "Sorry pal, but just for this that means I've gotta to take you down now. Take this!" You jump across the air and cutting right through the Snake-bot, freeing another Flicky from the inside. "Welcome to the party, how's about we get outta here?"

Sonic runs 31.50/30 yards, making it past their original turn and now triggering random encounters as you are now 1.50/30 yards to the destination.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 84. Rings!

You have obtained 15 rings! Sonic now has 15 rings!

Enhanced Move (Ground) 1 Activates!

Sonic runs 22/30 yards to the destination.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 29. Enemies!

1 Scouter.

You perform a Spin Attack against the Scouter in your path #3d6 = (2+1+3) 6. Hit!

Scouter tries to fly out of your path of destruction #3d6 = (4+5+6) 15. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Scouter #1d6 = 6*1.5 = 9 Damage.

Scouter: -7/2HP. Scouter explodes!

6/5 Flickies obtained.

Catching some rings along the way and finding another one of those Fly robots, you crash through it with ease and freeing yet another Flicky.

"Hm, something doesn't seem right. I was the one to kick ass, yet why am I seeing birds around my head?" You see that Honey, I can make jokes that have to do with civilized society! Those toon things on the TVs or whatever!

Sonic runs 30/30 yards towards the destination.

Well then, here it is. The familiar sight of a Giant Ring. You take a look at the Flickies only to notice they're already ahead of you on what to do.

"I can only hope this doesn't throw me into one of that sorta world." There's a world of difference between doing the spinning yourself, and the world spinning around you. Sorry but not sorry Chaos Emeralds.

You and 6/5 Flickies go through the Giant Ring, opening the hatch underneath which you go through!

Extra Flickies: 1.

The more you gain that go over the limit of Giant Rings, the more extra bonuses you get after the Adventure is over!

You watch as the Flickies float over the ring before going through it, all 6 disappearing in a sparkle of light as they go individually fly into it. And next was you.

Except, you didn't disappear in a brilliant sparkle, you instead go through the thing normally as the hatch beneath it opens up underneath you!

"What the-Whoooooaaaaaaahhhhhh!" You get suctioned through a small tunnel, seemingly bouncing in random directions! But before you know it, you're spit out into a new path!

You brush the dirt off of yourself after having crashed. "A little warning would've been nice!" You get no response other than the sound of the wind brushing up against this forest you're in. "I guess they can choose to have people come with them?" If you had to guess they're probably in a safe place now that isn't this island.

In the distance, you notice another crossroads. You can make a decision on where to go next once you're over there.

Sonic runs 20.50/30 yards along the path.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 44. Obstacle!

A giant spike ball comes out of nowhere from the forest to your right side, surprising you with a -2 Acrobatics to dodge it #3d6 = (1+4+2) 7. Success!

As you run, you feels something click underneath you as a giant spike ball comes from your right side from the trees! "Way too slow!" You out-speed the thing before it could even get the chance to hit you.

Sonic runs 30/30 yards along the path, making it to a crossroad.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 26. Enemies!

1 Scouter and 1 Snake.

You roll a Spin Attack against both the Scouter and Snake in your way #3d6 = (1+1+5) 7. Hit!

Scouter tries to fly out of the way #3d6 = (5+2+4) = 11. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Scouter #1d6 = 4*1.5 = 6 Damage.

Scouter: -4/2HP. Scouter explodes!

1/4 Flickies obtained.

Snake tries to fling themselves away from your attack #3d6 = (6+6+1) = 13. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake #1d6 = 2*1.5 = 3 Damage.

Snake: -1/2HP. Snake explodes!

2/4 Flickies obtained.

As you are about to make it to the crossroad you see two enemies pop up, a Fly and Snake bot. "Easy enough, here I come Flickies!" Lining up just right to spin and cut through the both of them one after the other!

"Come and follow me!" You say to the two Flickies that have now escaped their prisons.

To the left is an unknown path.

To the right is an area full of Badniks.

And right in front of you... A spike trap and a path that ends suddenly. Could work well as a place to rest as the giant spikes form a good enough wall of defence.

[X] Go left into the unknown.

[X] Who are you trying to fool: the left side is just too tempting to miss. Give it a look, crush any Badniks in sight, then go back and wipe those schmucks in the field. Doesn't seem they can go anywhere anyway.

[X] "You guys wait right there, I'm serving a fresh ass-whooping there in a bit!"
-[X] "Alright, Eggman, I get it. You are cruel, likes using innocent birdies as batteries. As if you weren't already on everyone's list for all the stunts you pulled."
-[X] "Nothing personnel, guys. If it's any consolation, better let it all out."
-[X] After following to the next area. "Hm. Wonder where you guys are going."

You look at the path to your left, gaining a glimpse of Badniks that'll be in your way. "You guys wait right there, I'll be serving a fresh ass-whooping in a bit!"

Sonic runs 20.50/15 yards, turning right to a path that is now 5.50/20 yards.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 23. Enemies!

2 Scouters.

You crash through the 2 Scouters with a Spin Attack #3d6 = (3+5+4) 12. Hit!

Scouter 1 tries to fly away #3d6 = (3+6+2) 11. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Scouter 1 #1d6 = 6*1.5 = 9 Damage.

Scouter 1: -7/2HP. Scouter 1 explodes!

3/4 Flickies obtained.

Scouter 2 tries to fly away #3d6 = (5+4+1) 10. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Scouter 2 #1d6 = 3*1.5 = 4 Damage.

Scouter 2: -2/2HP. Scouter 2 explodes!

4/4 Flickies obtained.

Sonic runs 26/20 yards, turning right to a path that is now 6/40 yards.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 94. Boxes!

3 Ring Boxes - They each hold 10 rings to collect when hitting them.

You have obtained 30 rings. Sonic now has 45 rings.

Sonic runs 26.50/40 yards on this path.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 26. Enemies!

2 Snakes and 1 Hunter.

You Spin Attack all three that are in your way #3d6 = (3+2+2) 7. Hit!

Snake 1 tries to sliver away #3d6 = (4+2+5) 11. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake 1 #1d6 = 4*1.5 = 6 Damage.

Snake 1: -4/2HP. Snake 1 explodes!

5/4 Flickies obtained.

Snake 2 tries to sliver away #3d6 = (1+4+3) 8. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake 1 #1d6 = 3*1.5 = 4 Damage.

Snake 2: -2/2HP. Snake 2 explodes!

6/4 Flickies obtained.

The Hunter cannot move, and thus fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Hunter #1d6 = 4*1.5 = 6 Damage.

Hunter: -4/2HP. Hunter explodes!

7/4 Flickies obtained.

Sonic runs 47/40 yards, turning right to a path that is now 7/10 yards.

Random Encounter #1d100 = 29. Enemies!

1 Snake.

You Spin Attack into the lone Snake #3d6 = (6+2+4) 12. Hit!

The Snake tries their best to get out of your path of pure destruction #3d6 = (6+6+3) 15. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake #1d6 = 2*1.5 = 3 Damage.

Snake: -1/1HP. Snake explodes!

8/4 Flickies obtained.

You practically blast your way through. Badniks upon Badniks getting in your way time and again, yet unable to stop you in your pure destruction. Just waves of enemies crushed beneath your quills as you roll through them, letting the Flickies inside explode. By the time you're done, you realise you now have 8 flickies by your side compared to the original 2 you had, and a few extra rings.

"Alright Eggman, I get it. You're cruel, but at least last time you were using plants too. Now you're just full in on only using these Flickies?"

Now finally at the end of the path you're on you realise where you ended up. The area to the right that you decided not to go to earlier. "At least that's convenient for me!" You look towards the three Badniks in this area as you say that. "Nothing personnel, guys. If it's any consolation, better let it all out!"

Sonic runs 10/10 yards, reaching back around to the area he saw earlier, a Snake now in front of him.

You spin your way towards the Snake #3d6 = (2+2+4) 8. Hit!

The Snake tries to get away #3d6 = (2+5+1) 8. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake #1d6 = 1*1.5 = 1 Damage.

Snake: 1/2HP.

Snake performs a swipe of their spiked tail at you #3d6 = (1+4+4) 9. Fails to hit!

You jump through the air, going pass their swipe to cut them up #3d6 = (4+3+2) 9. Hit!

Snake tries to get away at the last moment #3d6 = (1+6+4) 11. Fails to dodge!

Roll for damage for Snake #1d6 = 4*1.5 = 6 Damage.

Snake: -5/2HP. Snake explodes!

9/4 Flickies obtained.

You roll your way towards the Snake blocking your path to the others, keeping up your momentum from earlier! But in the excitement of it all you instead graze them rather than making a full contact hit as sparks fly out from the wound you gave to the Badnik.

They swipe their body at you, though missing due to your own speed. Deciding to take advantage of that you attack from the air, crushing the Snake underneath your foot. "One down. Two more two go."

Sonic runs 10 yards to the Scouter.

Through the air you dash towards the Scouter #3d6 = (6+5+5) 16. Fails to hit!

Scouter takes this chance to fly right at you #3d6 = (4+3+3) 10. Fails to hit!

You look at the Scouter, going for another air dash to get rid of them #3d6 = (2+1+1) 4. Critical Hit!

Critical Hit Table #3d6 = (3+5+1) 9 – Normal damage only.

Scouter is unable to dodge due to your critical hit!

Roll for damage for Scouter #1d6 = 4*1.5 = 6 Damage.

Scouter: -4/2HP. Scouter explodes!

10/4 Flickies obtained.

You run right up to the next one, one of those Fly-Bots. Flying through the air as you do so you find yourself surprised as you miss them. Perhaps you're a bit tired from that long run earlier?

Ah whatever, you shrug at that as you easily sidestep the Bot flying right at you, punishing their move with a satisfying crush as you dash towards them. "One left!"

Sonic runs 10 yards towards the Hunter blocking the hatch that has a large X on it.

You spin at your last opponent of this field #3d6 = (1+3+2) 6. Hit!

Hunter is unable to dodge.

Roll for damage for Hunter #1d6 = 5*1.5 = 7 Damage.

Hunter: -5/2HP. Hunter explodes!

11/4 Flickies obtained.

This one you kick up the dirt behind you, you want this to be a grand finish! Rolling towards them with speed as they are sliced in twain!

"Done!" And oh man, how many birds do you have around you by now? You've kinda lost count. "Come on buddies, the exit is just right here."

You and 11/4 Flickies go through the Giant Ring, causing them to go somewhere else as you are transported to a different area of the island!

Extra Flickies: 8.

You breathe in, and along with all the Flickies with you, you jump. Seeing as they disappear before you, expecting yourself to be thrown down the hatch like last time. "I really do wonder where you guys are going." That is the last thing you say before being taken by surprise, as this time you feel the familiar wave of weirdness that goes through you like the Giant Rings that protected the Chaos Emeralds.

And before you know it, your eyes open up to somewhere else. A new path on this island at a stop to rest at, and a long line that stretches beyond your vision.

Rings gotten throughout the stage for you #1d50 = 11 rings!

Green Grove Zone: Act 1 cleared!

You have obtained 56 rings!

—

Green Grove Zone: Act 2 (Length: 200 Yards)
Just a straight line.
0/2 Flickies obtained.

[ ] Perhaps you want to take some time off to heal?
-[ ] No. Go right on to the next Action.
-[ ] Yes. I'll take (x) amount of Actions to heal.
Due to being between Acts, you heal 25% health here per Action!

[ ] Write-in. How do you wanna go about this?
Well, there only seems to be one path to go. Now you just gotta plan how you're gonna do this.
If you continue to go forward today with this next action, you will keep your Blue Shield on. Only the transition of days or getting hit makes them go away.
