Day 37 #1 Labyrinth Zone: Act 3

    [X] Not much your style, but you can't fight while carrying Johnny, and you feel a big fight is coming soon - if it's with Silver You, you are unsure. Regardless, put some extra effort in finding something floatable or an alternate path that does not involve going underwater, thank you very much, and avoiding Badniks. Then, when time comes, drop Johnny in a safe place and get ready to brawl.

    [X] "Wakey, wakey," you say. "Ay, Johnny, any tips to get through this place without getting wet? Because I suck at this swimming thing."
    -[X] "Why did your friend followed you here? I had a buddy earlier on, and she was like this Porker guy. Though I was insane, that no other person wanted to fight Eggman. Haha! That shows that we, madmans, have to stay together!"
    -[X] "Do you know why Egghead wants the Emeralds?" you ask. "When I met him, dude was all like 'ahaha you can't understand my genius' before I wooped his ass."
    -[X] "Ugh, hope I don't have to fight Silver Me again right now," you say. "Damn thing wooped my ass last time we met. And if the Emerald makes him somehow better..." You don't fear many things, but you honestly dread the meeting with the machine so soon.

    "Wakey, wakey." You say, slapping him slightly but very fast in the face. "Ay, Johnny, any tips to get through this place without getting wet? Because I suck at this swimming thing."

    "--Wuh?" He says, groggily waking up. "What was that?"

    "What I said was do you have any tips for getting out of here without getting wet?"

    "..." He squints at you. "...no." And then turns right back around to sleep. Oi oi oi!

    A few more light slaps on his face ought to do it.

    With a yawn he hurriedly replies. "Okay then! Okay then! I guess I'll try to stay up."

    You roll to see if you find a route that allows you to stay above water, 80+ to succeed #1d100 = 7. You find no such path.

    You roll to see if you can find any wood that could float you up to the surface, 60+ to succeed #1d100 = 27. You find no wood.

    Shoot, you can't find anything again. Well, since you can't speak underwater you might as well get any question you have answered here and now.

    "Ha, good one dude." He starts scratching his head at the question. "Well... He's the type of guy to say cowardly things all the time you know? And keeps saying that stuff despite his actions being the complete opposite. He'll berate me for being insane going after Eggman whilst at the same time coming with me anyways."

    That's... "Strange." But kind of funny at the same time.

    "Yeah I know right? But I wouldn't have my best bud be any other way."

    Hm. You think this is the first time you want to meet with someone without the intent to kick their ass.

    Anyways. "Do you know why Egghead wants the Emeralds?" You ask. "When I met him, dude was all like 'ahaha you can't understand my genius' before I wooped his ass."

    Johnny blinks in surprise. "You actually got to meet him!? Lucky you then. But yeah... I can only imagine that those Emeralds have got to be some incredibly power source of a sort. Enough for that Silver guy to completely beat me down."

    "Right." Power source huh? Like the animals and plants in those Badniks? Speaking of Badniks. "Ugh, hope I don't have to fight Silver Me again right now. Damn thing wooped my ass last time we met. And if the Emerald makes him somehow better..." You don't fear many things, but you honestly dread the meeting with the machine so soon.

    "Yeah, he'll be a real pain to deal with." Johnny comments.

    Well, that's about everything on your mind as of now. "Ready to go?"

    "Ready as I'll ever be."

    You go over to him and-damn is he heavy! Then again, he is twice your size in height. Yeesh though, you could almost your back crumbling after getting him there.

    Every 20 yards is a Air Bubble.

    A piece of crumbling stone from up above goes down at you, avoid at -1 Acrobatics #3d6 = (2+6+1) 9. Success!

    "--Gluk!" An accidental intake of water happens as soon as you start running beneath the water. You look back at Johnny. Sheesh, for a guy that's way worse off in the health department, he sure as hell is able to stay on with ease and hold his breath well.

    After a bit, you see a box ahead of you. Hitting it, sparkles of light shine around you, shining within these ocean depths. Though, you suddenly hear the sound of something crumbling from above you, you take a leap forward, narrowly avoiding what seems to be a giant piece of stone that would've crushed you and Johnny. Eh, it would've been fine, this is the one that gives you invincibility right? Or at least you remember something like that...

    "Should protect you for the next couple of seconds. Though it doesn't work against things that should absolutely kill you."

    You and Johnny come across an Air Bubble and take a breath!

    A sudden slope appears to make you and Johnny skid down.

    You try to avoid a sharp rock ahead of you as you slide down at -2 Acrobatics #3d6 = (2+2+3) 7. Success!

    You try to avoid another sharp rock that is right after the last one at -3 Acrobatics #3d6 = (2+1+4) 7. Success!

    A sudden large gap appears at the end of the slide, leading down to who knows where, jump over it at -4 Jumping #3d6 = (4+1+2) 7. Success!

    There! Another air bubble to breathe from! You and Johnny take large gulping breathes from it.

    You look back to see if he's alright, which he seems to be-Whoa!

    Suddenly the ground underneath you slopes down, causing you and Johnny to slide! On the way you encounter a sharp rock, drifting around it-another one comes in your way! You kick back against a wall to the left, avoiding the second sharp rock.

    Damn you hate not being able to speak. Quips are like, your one talented thing.

    But ignoring that for now, it looks like there's a large gap at the end, with a path on the other side. As soon as you leap over it, kicking right off the ledge of the thing, you see that the gap below goes extremely deep. You mentally sigh as your foot touches the other side, glad to not have fallen in wherever the hole goes to. You felt Johnny gripping your back the entire time, having tried to hold on for dear life.

    Sonic runs 36/50 yards with Johnny on his back.

    Invincibility has worn out!

    13 seconds left for Sonic.

    19 seconds left for Johnny.

    Random Encounter #1d100 = 93. Boxes!

    3 Ring Boxes - They each hold 10 rings to collect when hitting them.

    Sonic runs 44/50 yards with Johnny on his back.

    3 Jaws.

    You take your action try to run past all three on them. They opportunity attack you whilst you pass by!

    You go right past the air bubble this time, figuring the two of you don't need right now, what with being so close to the end with enough time to breathe. And knowing yourself, you would've screwed up and gotten less breathing time than when you got to the thing.

    In your path are three Fish-Bots that suddenly appear. Dang, you can't waste your time on them, not when you and Johnny can't even hit them! You dodge and weave all three as they take the opportunity to strike whilst you pass by all of them. A part of you feels guilty though, leaving behind the animals that are inside of those things.

    Before getting to the end you try to find a safe place to put Johnny at for a bit of time, 50+ to succeed #1d100 = 33. You find no safe places.

    There! You see up above you the deep dark blue sky, you just have to make it! A few jumps from rock to rock, you get right to the top, leaving the water behind as you-

    Wow.

    A city sits before you, lights shining before your eyes. A crescent moon floating high up above, being matched by the thousands of tall buildings scattered everywhere.

    "Cool place right? That's home for ya." You hear Johnny say, still on your back.

    Oh right, Johnny. You drop him off your back, letting him sit down as you take in the view before you. How many people could possibly live here? You've never even thought of numbers as high as the ones you're imagining right now.

    "JOHHNY!"

    Well that sure is loud. A large distance to your right you see a pig-looking Mobian with an interesting black coat running right at you two, worried but relieved expression on his face. What was his name again, Poker?

    Johnny waves an arm towards the Pig Mobian. "Ey, Porker! I'm doing good thanks to this dude!" Eh, Poker, Porker, same difference.

    Porker turns to you before giving a very sudden deep bow. "Thank you so much! Thank you!"

    Maybe a tad too much of a thanking, but hey you'll take what you get. "Name's Sonic, I just do what heroes do you know?"

    ...huh, now that you think about it, the last zone didn't have someone try to beat you up in the end, maybe you're getting your lucky break?

    You see Porker then go towards Johnny, whispering something to him.

    "So, you can trust this guy?"

    "Yeah, dude saved me from almost certainly drowning down there, was no shape in getting out on my own."

    "If so, I've got some folks that saved my behind recently too."

    ...they do know you can hear them, right? Ah well, you won't mention that to them.

    Porker looks to you. "S-so, we've got a building just near here, and some others just like you and Johnny." You see Porker give a slight side-eye at Johnny with that comment. "They're currently trying to discuss a plan forward."

    Ha! Honey will never hear the end of this when you finally meet her again. "Well let's get on to it then!" You enthusiastically shout.

    Along the way, you see an interesting picture of sorts set up on a building wall, and some sort of text underneath it. Though you don't exactly know what it means.

    "Ah, interested in that bounty poster huh? Anyone you recognise?" Johnny says, on your back.

    Eh? "No, not really."

    "H-hurry up! We don't want any robots to catch us by surprise!" Porker cries out.

    "Yeah yeah we get it Lewis." Johnny replies back nonchalantly.

    "Well, here it is." A nervous energy brims from Porker.

    Compared to the tall buildings of this city, this place looks pretty darn rundown and small in comparison. He steps in front of you and Johnny to open the door, and what immediately comes to your vision are two figures, sitting at a rather dusty table.

    The first is a very red-looking Mobian, strong looking guy who hits you with an immediately glare. You can't exactly pinpoint the animal he comes from exactly. He puts his hand to his head, eyebrows furrowed, clearly distracted by something else he's thinking about.

    The other you're more easily able to gauge the origins of. A yellow squirrel Mobian with a smile as bright as his fur shines. "Heya!" You might not be good when it comes to looking at features, but they seem on the younger side of things, at least quite a bit younger than yourself by a few summers or so.

    An interesting atmosphere if you do say so yourself.

    "You wanna carry him?" You say to Porker. He obliges by taking Johnny off your back.

    As Porker goes ahead to another room to put Johnny on a bed, them groaning in pain. The red guy decides this is the time to start talking to you. "So, we know that's Porker's friend over there, but who the hell are you?" The Squirrel Mobian leans in, with their own bit of excitement.

    no boss for act 3? On the one hand, yay. On the other hand, this makes me feel like the next boss is going to be doubly hard to make up for it.

    -[X] "I ended breakin' a bunch of those big capsule things, and fought the guy myself. I've even managed to get most of those emerald things he's been looking for." You say, rubbing under your nose and giving a proud smile.

    Also, wow! Did not expect Mighty to show up this act. You work quick my guy. Hopefully with the extra muscle we stand a better chance against Silver Sonic. Though I am curious as to how Ray and Porker will end up contributing.

    "Soooooooo...do you want to talk about what happened there?"

    Scratch glared at his partner.

    "No."

    "Come on, tell me," said Grounder. "How is it inside of the mind of that rodent?"

    Breezie let out an annoyed glare at the duo.

    "Can you two shut up? You are supposed to be watching for the hedgehog."

    "But it's boooooooooooooring!" said the two, in unison.

    Breezie let out a sigh. If she thought of the two as insufferable when they were butting heads, they were somehow worse when in agreement. 'I guess 0 + 0 is still 0.'

    "Look, you two dimwits are supposed to look out for the Blue Blur. Doctor is livid with his defeat, to the point of overworking himself to put the Silver Blur to work."

    "Oh yeah, he was chasing that pig mobian," said Grounder. "Wonder if he made bacon out of him."

    "He's insane with that Emerald!" said Scratcher. "Once we get him, we could try to ask Doctor to-"

    "You will not do crap. Now, go back to work. Geez, why I am the only one of us capable of fixing the damn machine. If only two morons hadn't let oil drop into the controls," she gave a piercing glare that made Grounder glad that he didn't went through with the request of installing laser eyes on Breezie's creation. "Damn, I only had cleant my dress..."

    Thus, she returned back to work. It took only a moment for Grounder to ask.

    "Soooo...can you tell now?"

    The bird robot sighed.

    "If I tell you, will you shut up?"

    "...maybe."

    Silence.

    "Screw it, good enough for me. Well, let's start with being a head - gosh, best way of starting a conversation. It sucks. Now for the Blur. He was an bumpkin that thought that lava was orange colored, and had no idea of what a mountain was. An idiot, in short."

    The robots laughed.

    (In the back, a pig mobian stealthly hid behind the shadow of a tree, hoping to see his friend)

    "Man, what a dumbass and a wacko. It must be so embarassing to meet someone in your level, eh, Scratch?"

    The two laughed again.

    (A blue hedgehog carrying a gray bunny appeared from the exit of Labyrinth Zone, the pig leaving his hideout to meet them)

    "Wait, what was that about someone in my level?" asked the rooster, glaring at the drill robot.

    "Exactly what I said," replied Grounder. "You met someone that was your match."

    "Match?! Excuse me, he did not know how we turn plants into robots!"

    "Do you know?!"

    (The pig and the bunny went a bit further to discuss things, with the hedgehog hearing all)

    "Eh..." said Scratch. "No. But you don't know either, so don't get cocky!"

    "You are the cocky one!" replied Grounder, reeling it's drills. "I can turn you back into a football, damn chicken!"

    "I am a rooster, you ignobile imitation of a armadillo! And we don't talk about that!"

    "Football, football, football~!"

    (The pig and the bunny finish their discussion, with the pig guiding the hedgehog as he carries the bunny in the back)

    "That's it!" screamed both robots at the same time. "You going down!"

    A comically large cloud of the dust erected from the fight between the two machines, only to be interrupted with a scream.

    "You two idiots!"

    BONK! BONK!

    The metallic heads of the incompetent duo shook from the impact of the sane hedgehog of the crew.

    "I said for you to keep guard! Can't you do something so simple?! What if the target passed while you were fighting, huh?!"

    "It didn't!" said Grounder. "Nothing can escape our sharp senses!"

    "What he said!" added Scratcher.

    Breezie gave a quick look at the camera she set in the ground. Good, at least the two idiots didn't break it. Once she was done with the fix, the fake hedgehog would look at the images and see how much advantage did Sonic have over them. Until then...

    "Get back to work, or else I guarantee you will be sent to Scrapnik!"

    The two machines paled -or whatever was the closest equivalent to that -and nodded.

    "Yes ma'am!" they said in unison.

    Breezie sighed as she turned back to the machine. She at least guaranteed silence for a few minutes, but the two idiots were getting on her circuits. A resolve was formed in the back of her mind. She wouldn't be sent to Scrapnik Island, no way in hell.

    Scratch and Grounder, however? They could rust for all that she cared.

    It wouldn't be too hard to forge a defeat in the hands of the Blur, after all. And, even if they didn't believe in her, the Robotnik Empire would only get stronger from that.

    The Silver Blur begins trying to chase down the Blue Blur, now identified as 'Sonic', but can't catch up, and despite the Hedgehog's grievous wounds, the Silver Blur is the one unable to keep going, finally shutting down. The recording ends, and you aren't sure whether to grind your molars in frustration, or to delve into the curiosity of how the Silver Blur managed to rewrite it's own programming.

    [E] Frustration: How DARE that Hedgehog get away with ruining your plans, and trashing your machines! You will get him for this. Even if you must get him yourself.
    [E] Curiosity: A machine rewriting it's own programming in order to change directives? You'd thought it impossible. You still think it's impossible. But the evidence is staring you straight in the face. You haven't had this kind of discovery in a while!

    So far all I've done on this site is do Negaverses, so I guess it's my thing now. I'm not complaining, though!

    Okay sorted some things out and am now able to regularly borrow a laptop, so I should be able to continue with regular updates. Though no update today as I spent my day running around like a headless chicken with this mess.
