Between the Darkstars (NO SV, TRY AND CONQUER THE GALAXY!)

How about a panic at the church because the extremists are making trouble for their faithful instead of others and need to be chastised

To Break the Word

(Inquisitor Arsta POV)

"RISE ARSTA VICTORIA!" Cardinal Estermont shouted as you rose to your feet to see your order through.

"Ave Cardinal. What is your command?" You said calmly as you prepared yourself to understand the orders given.

"You are aware of the uptick of certain members of our flock…hoping to cheat their way through the path to the emperor with dark science and sorcery…they will not birth the god-emperor; it will birth an abomination." He said firmly.

It was a violation of Pope Mathas the 3rds doctrine on the Nature of Man and Mutation in 305 AC, one of the main documents that formed the basis of the Imperial Cult's doctrine of lost technology and equipment. A true heresy if there ever was one.

The Words of the Imperial Dawn had started as a fringe movement, a slightly mad tech scavenger who was ordained by the faith for their exploits upon the finding of several rare types of equipment that were used by the church.

Of course Father Eron got too big for his station and openly quarreled with the Cardinals and bishops of this sector.

You should have seen it as a warning sign of things to come.

"You will search the lands of the Hegemony and slaughter them and take the tech they have kept from us and the Wider imperial cult." He said.

"Yes Lord Estermont…and what of the Director-General?"You asked.

"Her opinions matter not, only that the situation is dealt with, she is halfway to heresy by her apathy to our ways…but that is due to a lack of tact and results…she wants to see how this benefits herself…and a show of force is necessary in these times to awe even the fatalists of Non-believers." He said.

He raised a hand. "Her role in our plans will reveal itself in time…but we must have the assurances of her support..and if that means letting her run around with other heretical forces and beggars so be it…Impress her, awe her and DOMINATE HER!"

"I thought we had a policy on not having sex with the believers?" You said.

"I meant with a show of power? Get your mind out of the gutter Inquisitor, I know you've been in the field for a long time but really…we have class." He said.

Ahh, the Hypocrisy of a Church…how you missed it.

It was almost comforting how easy it was to miss.

"I shall be going…It will be the twelfth force I've destroyed in my years of Life…By the God Emperor's WILL!" You said.

"FOR THE EMPEROR!" He said. "NOW GO!! CLEANSE THIS FILTH!!"

How de we roll for character stats, or should we pm you for authentication of a character before posting an image?

Roll D20s for base stats and Spoiler the Images.

I'd prefer the PMing me for characters because I don't want to clutter the Thread.

Also make your own guesses on parts of the Universe.

The Omake I made has two Purposes, give you an example of the worldbulding.

The Skyranger
The most advanced craft in the Highhold Hegemony. A stealth dropship designed to quickly deploy troops on the battlefield very quickly, and stealthily. The craft has insane speed and endurance for their size to ensure it can redeploy forces in strategic speed even if they need redeployed halfway across the planet. Considering the speed countermeasures, and mobility, it seems it was possibly designed for use of special forces, mainly because it is perfect for such a role, being able to reliably deploy almost anywhere on the planet in relative safety, alongside with enough space to theoretically bring a tank AND a squad at the same time. While it is durable for an aircraft, the lack of armaments and extensive stealth capabilities seem to show it was very much designed to use stealth as it's primary defense, and to help enable precision deployments.

The Siege Tank
An impressive example of varitech. This tank can fit the roles of a tank an artillery with relative ease. While clearly far from the cutting edge, whoever designed it intended them to be rugged designs that can function well anywhere. Honestly, the capability of serving both artillery and tank roles, while it may seem questionable, is rather effective, both in being able to protect themselves, and being able to open tactical operations exploiting the fact tank battalions could suddenly have a not insignificant amount of artillery among their number without compromising their ability to function much. Most interestingly, the main tank cannon was specifically made so that it also doubles as artillery, as shown when the tank triggers it's change into artillery mode making it especially fascinating to researchers.

A/N:Well. I decided to write a theoretical tech item or two. The first is Very heavily inspired by the new-XCOM skyranger which might as well run on pixy dust with it's absurd specs for a 'modern' craft. Which, well, might exist in this verse as a very advanced stealth dropship. Whenever or not we actually get it though.🤷‍♂️
The second, well. Inspired by it's StarCraft namesake.

How do the religions and cults interact? And for
shadow preachers happpen who influence other areas to worships others religions or ideals? Then they are meant to.
Religions and Cults use each other for their own ambitions and wars.

As for Shadow Preachers, it depends on their personal agendas. Ususally.

(Seer Shepard POV)

Shepard walks the void ship with a small smile on his face. He had few followers when he left on the pilgrimage because he heard the calls to the Horizon within his home. But it would be worth it if he was right. Already, they had converted many fellow travelers. And if they had not joined, then they would have left on good terms. He walked into what some would call a secret passage. To those on this ship, such things were normal ways to move around. Everyone had some, or knew someone who knew a few. He smiled as he saw some nearby children playing in the passage. As they turned and saw him, each gave a wide smile. He returned with a smile on his face, as they continued playing. If he has to guess a game of hide and seek, it's such a fun little exercise.

He arrives at his chorus. People who chose to follow him through his journey and even left their past behind. He greets them with a joyous smile and offers his hand to each member of the chorus. As he arrives on the stage, he begins to sing, and the members of the chorus begin to sing along with him. The closer the members, the longer they have been with him. As the song of Horizons continues to spill out onto the void ship, All over the ship, children and adults alike, join in the chorus. Some are busy at work, while others are having fun. Shepard doesn't mind. After all, the Horizon knows that mortals are not perfect. But they can still sing great songs.

It went on for what felt like hours to most. But Shepard knows that it has not been that long. As the song ended, he started to help pass around water and snacks to those who gathered with him. Others of his inner circle began to help him, as fellow travelers of the Horizon helped him as well. As that went on, people went back to their day-to-day events. The monthly song was a fun event for everyone, even if they couldn't come themselves.

As Shepard arrived back at his simple home inside the void ship, he looked over the reports of the happenings on the ship. They still needed more money if they were going to reach and pay for everything they needed. It wasn't his field of expertise, which he was in. He was more about helping lost souls find their own way.

As he looked over them, he heard a door open. A woman walked in, a sly smile on her face. The two were old friends.

"So, mister singer, how was the show?" She said it in a sing-song voice.

"It went fine and even had more people than before." Shepard replies.

"That is good news. Now then, how about some reports on fun topics for little old me~? " She says with a wink as she rushes to the desk with what appear to be coded documents in her hands.

Shepard blushed a bit, but nodded, happy to help. After all, there were many lost souls to save, he thought as he lit a cigarette.

Note: Well this should be a fun little story for everyone. There is more the the Shepard then it seems.
Also how the man looks.
