Between the Darkstars (NO SV, TRY AND CONQUER THE GALAXY!)

Even better, the Sunguards are all Military Royal Guards that literally Worship the Bloodline of your Character and consider the PC a living God.

Yes they LITERALLY Worship the PC.
...So, did we end up with space marine recruitment worlds?

Forget about being simple guard, sounds like we might be able to form an ARMY!
Or at least one that can fight on a few planets.

SUN GUNS!
SUN GUNS!

(Ellera POV)

It started as all things do… with you reviewing the works and accomplishments of the family for a speech.

It wasn't just a review but a small checking of whether or not certain problems have begun to spring up and spiral out of control.

Thankfully that hasn't happened in about two centuries.

Desmond Harthorne had helped you review certain military aspects and the reasons why many of them weren't used anymore.

Like the Sun Guard, the Royal Guard Combat Force that was responsible for the defense of your family.

Until the Civil War that is…

Damn it was the largest problem and reason why your nation hadn't conquered the Arm yet. You remembered some of the dreadful statistics, like how apparently 3% of planets were either decimated or entirely vanished, or how census records roughly suggested that 20% of population of the Highhold Hegemony was lost in the war.

Mostly due to the Guard being one of the best military units in the Hegemony.

And they had a strong refusal to die.

It took years for them to get purged and dealt with…but alas…you saw their destruction as a wasted opportunity.

Grandfather had to work hard to maintain control of what he had been forced to carry; the burden of leadership was terrible, especially as a child.

"Admiral…name the recruiting worlds of the Guard and their most valuable assets?" You said replaying the dozens of battles and worlds that were won because of the guard's direct intervention.

He nodded. Pulling up three large planets surrounded by a Red Sun, a Blue Dwarf and a Yellow Star respectively.

The Red Sun was highlighted. " First there is a Derion 7, the major armor and mining refinery in the sector, half the planet is a giant factory worth of turning the massive asteroid and mineral-rich moons and carbons into war and battle material." He said.

The Blue Dwarf was then highlighted. "Well Fellon 4…is interesting due to its entire solar system being unusually barren making it perfect for live-fire exercises… it where they train rigorously given our records…and people live there."

That was a bit concerning…

Finally, the Yellow star was highlighted. "Solaris Prime….The Headquarters and the largest recruiting world of the guard. It is known for its RnR retreats, officer academies and…." He stopped for a moment.

You raised an eyebrow. "Well spit it out?"

"And it is known for being the Holy Site and housing the Temple of Sigman….as they are the Worshipers of his bloodline." He finished.

Oh…OH.

You remembered reading about THAT little quirk when you were a child.

Religions that worship the bloodlines of Powerful men and women.

Great…how were you going to explain all of this?

--------------------------

You were pacing in your room on the Luxury Yacht that Serra uses to travel around on when she's not working for you on her rare days off.

It was too posh, the beds were too soft and by the Terran lords you weren't happy with this.

Lying to people for politics was one thing but lying to your own men...disgraceful!

You took a second to consider the fact that these probably had been left in the dark by their 'gods'. How many years did they think they had been abandoned by the heavens? How many years did they think they think they had sinned against the very beings they worshipped?

No, you were going to stop this... This kind of thing...... Your family really should've addressed this kind of thing earlier.

Yes, grandfather was rather preoccupied with rebuilding the state but leaving a well-armed and well-trained cult of soldiers would have been an issue.

"Serra...is the poofy dress really necessary?" You said looking at the rather large dress she was making you try on. "For one thing I don't feel any micro trauma plates in the fabric."

Serra looked up from her glowing orb that pulsed slightly as she put it away. "I thought it would be more prudent to refine you as a royal and not a lout. Besides the dress makes the glow in your eyes more noticeable."

You could only roll your eyes at that statement. Sure, the dress was nice, but it would hardly make people notice your eyes unless you were up close.

"Still, shouldn't I dress in something more... normal. Try and show them what I am like no a normal day?"

"Gods no, If I had a religious cult of half-insane morons that worship my ass as if it was a gift from God...I'd dress like an empress and give them petty orders." She said taking a swig of something you assumed to be beer or something refined.

"Come on Serra be serious?" You complained.

She sighed. "Its just that its not the person they worship or even command, it the IDEA of who you are as a person, your Sigman's descendent, they don't see Ellera, the Director-General... they see Sigman's latest DNA dump given form once again as you try to live up to an impossible standard set by someone who wasn't that perfect to begin with."

She then stopped and motioned to your dress. "So why NOT play it up. Your not a person to them ,your the decedent of their god, treated like one because they chose not to see the difference."

"Serra, tell me honestly. How much do you think these people suffered because my family left them to die? How many do you think had their souls crushed because my family was fine with them dying or disappearing?" You stopped for a moment to solidify your resolve.

"I can't... I can't just continue that. My opinion is not supposed to be the basis of someone's worth, and these people deserve something more than shameless exploitation."

"Didn't they side against your family during a civil war?" She said.

"Yes but that does not mean they deserve to be destroyed and forgotten." You said. "I believe that the punishment of pseudo exile has been served and that they will reform and rearm in a timely manner...if only so their experience isn't wasted."

Serra rolled her eyes as you put your foot down." Being nice to a mad cult...I've seen it backfire more than once and I'm personally seeing this going to shit the moment you show your Kid off."

Now that was a low blow. "She's just a mutant...and my child, not this...Primarch nonsense."

"You've looked at her DNA and looked her in the eyes...you know something's off about her." She said.

"Whatever the machines say, I'm not going to parade around my child because a machine says she's special. She is special because she is my daughter and not anything else and…" You said

"You know, this is what I am afraid of. Of the way others' opinions twist what we think we are. What we know about ourselves. Just a few hints from a machine or some foolish louts and we are acting as if my daughter is a god we need to tiptoe around"

"My dear, you exaggerate. We are just acknowledging-" Serra said.

"My daughter... I just want my daughter to be happy. To grow up smiling. Not to be exalted like a god and instead we are talking about making her bow to the expectations of a royal guard woefully out of date, because of how it serves us" You said looking down upon her.

Serra Nodded. "I'm not going to change your mind about this aren't I?"

"Your not...because I'm not letting a little thing like traditions get in the way of what actually is important." You said.

"Well, if your not going to like the outfit...what shall I help you select wearing now...because I'm not going to have you run around in Soldier's Kit, you have to admit your in charge beyond your hat." She complained.

"Finally...does that Dresser of yours have anything practical in it?" You asked.

--------

The Landing was going to happen soon, and you already knew Eve was being fussy about it.

Changing gravity Wells was a hard thing for a child to adjust to...

Even harder when walking into a cult of well-armed people.

Still, she was at least faring better than you did on your first flight off world. You don't remember much other than you were definitely throwing a temper tantrum of some kind at your mother, and when the fasten seatbelts sign came on, you decided to spite her and run around the ship.

Thankfully, you didn't end up with too many bruises because of that, but you still remember just how painful it had been once the ship had really started shaking and-

There we go, speak of the devil. Immense shaking... and a crying baby.. Maybe this wasn't that much better of an experience for her.

Your poor girl was going to make you go deaf, though, with the wailing cry she was performing now, though. You didn't even realize she could be this loud.

Though to be fair on that front her Lungs were large enough to hold her breath for three minutes.

"Eve." You picked her up and did the mom carry the books told you to do...burped her and all.

"Mom's gonna be getting you some friends who I hope can handle being around you...and help you deal with your tantrums...just be good for me and I'll get something sweet for you." You said.

She immediately tried to go for your shirt to your bosom as you bounced her around. "It's going to be a pain to ween you off me isn't it? God you and I are alike."

The Ramp opened as nearly 500 people with heavy weapons and Rifles stood before you with large banners and massive spears.

Show time it is...

"SUN GUARD OF THE HEGEMONY!! I AM YOUR DIRECTOR GENERAL! PARADE REST IMMEDIATELY!" You ordered.

For but a moment they stood silent but did as ordered.

Shit, you didn't think that would work.

"So anyone wants to explain why I opened the door to a bunch of guns in my face?" You asked.

welp, I guess that is one way to tell who the commander. Almost everyone except him looked away in shame or threw themselves on the ground begging for my mercy. But the commander kept his cool and-

"LORD SIGMAN HAS SENT THE NEXT GREAT ONE TO LEAD US TO GLORY AND VICTORY! PRAISE THE GODDESS DIRECTOR GENERAL AND HER WORK!" He said in a hammy and off-the-cuff manner.

Alright...you should have read more in terms of just how dedicated these guys were to the family.

"Oh no...these are nuts." You said to yourself as Serra began to laugh.

A voice from the crowd piped up. "Uhh, Commander, should we hold back our praises until we figure out what's going on?"

"QUIET FOOL THE GODDESS IS HERE AND DOES NOT WISH TO HEAR YOUR UNWORTHY VOICE!" The commander said.

"I'm standing right here and your annoying me." You said.

You looked down at Eve...still trying to take off your shirt and you nodded at her.

"Commander...take a nap." You said punching him in the face as he collapsed like a sack of potatoes.

Finally... "SANE PERSON IN THE CROWD!!"

The Voice that spoke earlier walked forward...a younger man with a fine dress uniform. "First Captain Drake Hansen, Royal Infantry."

"You're in charge until I figure out what to do with you...now can you tell me what the hell this is about?" You said.

"Umm.. ma'am... he just told us to suit up and form up.... I mean, you're way better than that random pirate that apparently came in a decade ago." He said

"..Wait, did you really believe that a pirate was one of the royal family. What, did you think the skill and crossbones was the new national flag?" You were almost laughing at him.

".... To be fair, most of us went along with it because our grandparents were really miserable, due to that whole proclamation of unfaith thing"

"..... Proclamation of unfaith?" You said.

You could almost feel the entire crowd squirm at once. And then the man responded, "Oh, look at the time, does anyone else want to explain our grandparent's crazy beliefs, I suddenly have somewhere to be! Don't wait for me, I'm sure one of you can handle it!"

Then you stopped and felt Eve tug at your shirt again.

Then you sighed. "Serra get us some proper lodgings for the night while I deal with this in their language...now."

She did as ordered.

You turned and looked at them "I AM VERY DISAPOINTED IN YOU...go back to your barracks and think about what you've done. AND NO KILLING YOURSELVES THAT'S SHAMEFUL!"

The Commander groaned from the ground.

"And don't listen to this idiot...and finally...BRING ME YOUR SEXIEST SOLDIERS!" You said.

Serra face palmed. "Ellera, Control your Libido!!"

"I was just kidding...just get me your manifest and begin reintegration into Hegemony Society...lord knows you need a refresher in the modern age." You said.

Unfortunately, it would be 5 minutes later when Ellera would realize that most of the soldiers didn't understand your humor.... so they had sent 10 of their sexiest soldiers half naked .... who were all hidden by the huge stacks of paperwork they had brought to you.

Well at least no one died…

Now to reorganize this shit…again.

Now comes the hard part Organizing them.

PLAN FORMAT PLEASE!

AN: Finally, well I hope you enjoy

Well, this is quite the look at them. Now we got the question of what their stuff looks like. And possibly, some options might affect the capabilities of our elite...

Chooseing what they look like for these things do not effect their compitence.

They are descended from a Pre-intergnum combat unit, their competence is unquestioned.
Of course, was referring to possibly affecting their nature as a unit. They likely would preform well in all fields from sheer experience, but, well...

More a question of possible specialization than better/worse.

This is a unit that hs done more or less everything...

ANd I mean Everything, during the Interegnum.

Yes they've even been pirates.
"Umm.. ma'am... he just told us to suit up and form up.... I mean, you're way better than that random pirate that apparently came in a decade ago." He said

That particular incident?

At some point, we should possibly giving them some sort of teleport system like the one in Infested Planet game. Cause with their insane skill breadth, hotswapping equipment for any occasion on the field would likely make them even scarier.

That particular incident?
Not that one in particular...but that was their most recent one.
At some point, we should possibly giving them some sort of teleport system like the one in Infested Planet game. Cause with their insane skill breadth, hotswapping equipment for any occasion on the field would likely make them even scarier.
Thats gotta be found, remember your living in a post collapse Human galactic empire.

You don't find those at the store.

I forgot the name of the people that guard the Emperor's Palace in Warhammer 40k, but I do remember there… "armor" and immediately think that's these guys battle armor, except for the sane person who is in proper battle armor.
