So I was sad that with Mo gone and Iowa being used as a parts boat, that the Iowa museums are in pretty bad shape, until I realized that as long as Iowa is t sunk, in a couple of decades she can self summon, and will be fully kitted out in her commissioning kit.

Not just her, but Alabama, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Lexington, Yorktown, Intrepid, Midway, and several more. But what kind of world will they be self summoning into if this becomes a 30 year war....

I don't know if the war could even last that long. The Abyssals' need to consume humans to fuel themselves seems to put an upper limit on the time this war could possibly last. And I suspect thirty years would be rather unlikely, even if it might be technically possible.

I really doubt it could. But self summoning just to hang out doesn't seem to be what ships do. So without the abyssal threat, I can't think of a good reason for the museum ships to start self summoning in the 2040s. Other than the author said to.

Do you think that big sis Iowa wouldn't leap at a chance to run around like all her younger sisters?

We interrupt this topic to bring you a mini update

Shafts are in.
Carry on.
And yes, I know the hull isn't quite flush. It didn't want to cooperate.

Thats an interesting thought. Iowa would turn 100 in about twenty five years right? Unfortunately, by the time that happens the war will probably be over, for better or for worse.

I may have found the ultimate nerdboner image for this thread.
It's Nagato...
She's chibi...
And made from LEGO...

You know, it might be possible to salvage Jersey's hulk to refit Iowa. Jersey was sunk in shallow water.
At that point isn't it essentially ineffective? They're in similar condition after 70-ish years of exposure unless Jersey being repaired as a shipgirl has had an effect on her hull the same way her hull showed damage through her when she was freshly summoned.

Possibly. But also remember that Jersey has thousands of crew fairies, and hundreds of them are going to be experts on all the different parts of an Iowa class ship.

Jersey's fairies might even be able to provide blueprints and technical manuals.
