Assuming she even notices Kirishima's BURNING LOVE. Wash was only hit once her entire career, and it was a 5in shell that passed though her radar without detonating!

They are the sweetest things ever and Fubuki is my waifu. :V Also they're totally for lewds (well, after a proposal, ring and an honest offer of marriage.)

Also every time I eat Japanese-style curry rice, I think of the DesDiv 6 lolis.

Well, it's good that things are squared away between Kongou and the Taffies, but that's just one section of the matter. There are others with bones to pick, and tey're not half as patient as Kongou. Maybe I'm reading too much from Taffy 3 quest, but I can't see Kumano being quiet about it. I'd like to see Kongou take command to defuse matters. For the ship that held the position of Combined Fleet Flagship three times, the flagship of BatDiv 3, who sank with two admirals aboard, who earned the nickname of 'Old Bones'*, to shut down a developing situation.
* 'Old Bones' is a reference to the Grim Reaper. Apparently, Kongou was noted for her gunnery accuracy.

Hell, if I mull it over long enough, I may write a brief passage. I just can't figure out what Kumano would be saying, but Kongou's line would be:

"Everyone did their duty back then. Everyone did their best - they were just terrible things to do. If any of you still have issues, we will discuss them over tea. Even if I have to chain you to the chairs. Is that clear?"
 
Do not mess with Kongou. You don't to see serious face Kongou. Kongou doesn't want to be serious face Kongou. So if you make her serious face Kongou, watch out.

Because that's when she drops her silly Engrish, and instead speaks perfect, proper English. Ala Dame Judi Dench's portrayal of calmly utterly pissed off M. Her tone is level. There is no shouting. Just the feel of an icy wind.

Kongou would like to remind you that she can speak proper English, and in fact speaks better English than the American boats with their silly accents. Kongou speaks the queen's tongue, Dess! She only sprinkles her Japanese with English to help the little ones learn, Dess!

But... yes. Kongou doesn't want to be serious-face Kongou. She's seen what hash discipline is like when the IJN turned brutal, and she never wants to go there again.

I dunno, I always though Kongou would speak in thick Barrovian rather than Received Pronunciation, given her birthplace.
 
Tenryuu badassery is directly porportional to the danger her girls are in.
Without the danger she is a Marshmallow but no one crosses her on her girls not even her sister who loves to pick on her.

I've always thought of her having a proper upper-class accent, but I don't like to write phonetic accents. If you want to interpret her as having another accent, I won't stop you!

As long as it's not a New Orleans drawl. She'd probably kill you for that.

I'm actually imagining her to be all suave and "lady-killer" (in the way a lady would be) with Kirishima... albeit the fact it is completely unintentional.

You already indicated it as much, so I'm running with it as much as I can.

That said, I am beginning to see the appeal of Missouri/Arizona espoused by some over on SB, given the RL connection shared by the two at Pearl Harbour. That being said, Old Iron's snippets are making me go full Aritsu as far as this fic is going. The teasing Mutsu making Arizona all flustered and tsundere...
