Uh, bad news, I just looked at this script I have here and it says we're supposed to spend five minutes talking about your love interest while you act as my mentor just before you leave to stumble onto a vital clue you're not in an immediate position to tell anyone.
Day dawns upon the town to find the majority of the population gathered in the central square. A few are absent, performing duties that cannot be left idle, or tending to the corpse of the latest victim, but most are gathered for the debates.
Those who have volunteered themselves (or had themselves volunteered) to participate actively in the discussion step forward, gathering in a circle within the larger circle formed by the rest of the populace. Conveniently, right next to the gallows where they would be hung if found too suspicious.
One of the observers, in a bout of helpfulness, had hung a sign there detailing how long the discussion was scheduled to last. "Day One Ends
."
While the thought was appreciated, the sign itself was anything but reassuring. Ominous red was perhaps not the best color choice for the lettering.
Silence reigned for a minute, before one of the debaters broke it with a small cough. "So... Let's get to it, then."
