Amazing chapter. I love it when Al does a character, and with Adamant Knight Aru might actually beat Al's best.

Like, the disguise in bloodstained was fun, Goonion was fun, Tracy healing for Bruce Wayne was fun, but I think Adamant Knight might even have reigning champion Minimizer beat.
Does it rhyme in Japanese?
Rhyming doesnt really serve that purpose in jpJP. The nature of the language means that any two sentences can rhyme trivially, but it also doesnt sound like anything. The same effect in Japanese would come from rhythm and cadence.

Given the pauses and posturing, it seems clear that AdKni is definitely performing in that way as well.

"Sir?" Areru shouted as he turned, dragging the resisting Youma with him so they both could face a masked man in a tuxedo with a top hat. "I appreciate that you wish to tell the lovely lady how much you adore her but this isn't the Audience Participation Power Hour."

"Uh..." the Masked Tuxedo stumbled, clearly confused. "This... has never happened before."

"It's alright, sir," Areru told the man, amusement in his tone as he kept the Youma locked in place and sucking at his vitality. "The Adamant Knight understands that this tends to happen to some men. He would suggest that you add a bit of variety to your diet. Perhaps some vitamin B?"

i burst out cackling on seeing this such that i woke up the spouse, and then had to read the offending span of the chapter out loud. she'll read the in the morning, but i just couldn't leave my reaction unexplained.

'audience participation power hour' is inspired. implying mamoru has performance issues is *extra* beautiful, considering how often he has rose to the occasion.

Is there something you want to tell us Ficser? I'm not someone to dig in a person browser history, but if you just come out and say it, it leaves some people curious.
... no! *eye begins to twitch*

Don't do it! *face reddens*

Must... resis.. *mental image of a super buff figure drawn in JoJo style clad in Sailor Mercury's fuku forms*

Nooooooooooooooooooo!! [/DarthVaderMeme]

Oh, the moments where Al gets to be a bit silly are the best. Sailor Mercury is about to bombard Luna with questions about the Moon Kingdom's version of the WWE.

Every few weeks the MC shows up as a different person to absolutely body youma and baffle the sailors. The next one might be a high tier wizard or something playing on and following tropes, then at the very end breaking expectations by playing as "American tourist with gun".

And somewhere in there he needs a "shirtless Norse parody warrior" xD

I'm personally rooting for full-on homage to Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (Ermey). Perfectly compatible with Sailor Moon, even has Hart in the name!

If Areru catches Sailor Blue's attention, the Scouts will be Brainless.

Will Usagi flunk school?

As much as Ami helps the rest of the Scouts study, she isn't the safety net preventing Usagi from failing. Usagi's not exactly the best study buddy anyways...

Nor is Ami's interest in the Adamant Knight going to keep her away from her study sessions. Not even world ending threats could do that.

Despite the traumatic frisbee incident, the girls are tied with Keiichi and the Norns as the groups who are least likely to antagonize Areru or be antagonized by him. There's absolutely no reason for any group drama over the anti-social void dragon. The outer senshi are an entirely separate issue...

Now, do I expect some embarrassing moments over her crushing on his demon-fighting wrestler persona? Oh definitely. But that's Tuesday in Sailor Moon.

"Well, it was the best of my list of bad options," the Void petulantly told the old soul. "This is her last day on Earth. I wasn't going to take that away from her by turning her to stone or something."

So, instead you gave Sadako one hell of a day to go out on, Al? She's certainly not going to be happy about giving up embodiment after THIS experience! ;)

Gah! The PINK! IT BURNS! That link needs a warning attached!

2009, breaking out the vintage memes.

But still well ahead of it's time for Areru's 90s era. :D

Ranma: Are you sure I am the one related to an Oni and not Akane?

And it's that failure to restrain his mouth is why he thinks Akane could have supernatural ancestry. Of course, it's also why she frequently verbally savages him and (generally justifiably) tries to apply a physical beat-down as well.

Is this before Japan became Mecha Obsessed?

Well, it's decades after anime really took off, so no, it is not. Not to mention well after multiple entries from both Macross and Gundam, among many others.

Is the rest of the planet Normal?

In an anime world? Oh, HELL no!

Said incident was implied to be a brainwashing attempt by a lover to turn her into a double agent

Mihoshi used to be a very competent ace detective. The only reason she acts ditzy is because a former fake lover kidnapped her, and did absolutely horrifying things to her to make her into a sleeper agent by using nanites to overwrite parts of her mind. She still is receiving treatments for her condition, and if you ever fully remove her headband, she'll completely lose all her memories as it's actually a medical device.

Yeah, Mihoshi is a blonde stereotype because Space Pirates permanently damaged her brain.

The both of these informative posts are a hell of a lot darker than I remember Tenchi being, but then I don't think I've seen any entry from it this century.

Honestly Areru's mom probably lives in Townsville.

Not to be confused with the City of Townsville, of course, which as an Aussie, I have always found deeply amusing. particularly given I am not a banana-bender (Queenslander). I know which one I'd prefer to live in, given a choice. (Hint, it's not the one that lacks a trio of flying pre-teen girls.)

I'm afraid you've been mogged Mr. Tuxedo.
The one who seemed most into the Knight was Ami, who incidentally is the magic researcher of the bunch and is TYPE-Mercury in a girl suit. How great would it be for Areru to open his door the next day to find an enthusiastic blueberry standing there with an autograph book in hand?
No need, Areru's a dragon so his human form can look however he wants it.
The real worry there is Usagi ending up with a chrome dome. That would be pretty tragic; Sailor Moon would not look good with a bald head.

It would totally work at a Cutie Honey reference, apart from Cutie Honey being 70s anime.

Ah, going down the "Wrong Way to use Healing Magic" of body building I see?

Aka, work out till you drop, use healing magic on yourself and repeat until your benching small trucks.
