I am impatient and want to know. Besides, I can't think of much inside that research hall aside from some Heathen Caryll Runes and that shield.

This will probably kick off a chain of events that will cause wide-reaching and unknown consequences.

Let's fucking do this.

Hopefully, we haven't traded one superboss for another superboss.

Will we really get anything about the price? We know something is actively preventing him from talking about things like that.

Or maybe Gehrman will be a wily old man and drop some hints. If there is one thing hunters are familiar with its subtle signs that lead to their goal.

[jk] Ask Gehrman for blackmail on Maria.

"So ya old bastard can ya guess where I've been lately? Nah ya don't have to answer it's a rhetorical question. It was this lovely little place in the Hunter's Nightmare called The Astral Clocktower. Now imagine my surprise when I reach the top of tha tower to find a fair lass, who happens ta be the spitin image of Hope, dressed ta kill in a Hunter's Outfit, and walk and talkin with a slit throat still bleedin blood? She said her name was Maria and oh boy did she have somethings to say about her dear old teacher once I informed her of this Dream and Hope. So I have ta ask Gerhman, do ya want to explain ya self and the price that was paid for this Dream ta come into bein, or do I have to kick your arse, force into tha open whatever Great One is pullin yah strings, and have a strongly worded debate with it instead?"

How does that look guys?

Looks great, we are due for an enthusiastic talk with a false god. While I would like us to get the Rakuyo there really is nothing else that could help us fighting the MP/Flora. Though maybe we could try to convert befriend it instead. Don't want to lose Hope (eh? Eh?!)

I'm not sure we're anywhere near fast enough to tussle with Gherman without getting our asses whooped, unless we somehow tap into the Nail's power.

Not sure on that. There is wide spread fan debate among the BB community that The Doll is actually a Great One entirely separate from the Moon Presence. This is backed up with her bleeding pure white blood, the only being in the entire game to do so, her consistent ability to resurrect, her knowledge of the ancient people who came before Yharnam, knowledge no one in Yharnam ever knew, and her remaining after the Good Hunter becomes a infantile Great One. The infinite Great One becomes her child and do not all Great Ones yearn for a surrogate?

*Shrug* Nothing we can do about that. Nothing we find is going to make us fast enough to keep up with Gherman, as I doubt The Old Hunters Bone would work for Anderson, so being afraid of confronting him because of his speed means we never confront him at all. We have to get past Gherman to the Moon Presence, hell if we try and find away around Gherman to call it down, it's likely to just force him to attacks us. So yeah. We don't really have a choice.

Hopefully, we haven't traded one superboss for another superboss.

The moment we Ask him, an explosion will throw us out of building. We look up and see the workshop on fire and an onimous figure walking out of it.

"Some questions are better left unasked, Anderson."

It is Gehrman, in some strange suit made out of all that Mediocre one stuff we gave him. And it's wriggling. And it has several of its eyes all around. One is actually glowin- OH SHIT!

Props to Tricia for taking that kerfuffle with the "Check for Fangs" action and working it in seamlessly!

Anderson totally needs to visit Maria again in the future with a baked lasagna, or a baked apple pie as a housewarming gift for her Clocktower. You know, really go to town confusing her.

My suggestions in line with these points are two-fold:

–If Maria gains a bewildered respect for Anderson, or sees a flaw in his fighting style she itches to correct, she might tutor him in the Art of Quickening.

–We might want to delay confronting German/the Moon Presence until we find some of those Umbilical Cord portions...which anyone could theoretically consume.

Here's the problem with those ideas.
-Maria at best has a slightly positive impressive of Anderson, there is a very large difference between that level of approval, and the level needed for her to even considering teaching him quickening. Which Anderson might very well be unable to use, since every usage of BB supernatural power he's used has been Ebrietas and the Bell's telleporting him around, and as a catholic he has this thing about using the magics of pagans.

-He's Alexander Mother-Fucking Anderson. Father, Paladin, Inquisitor, Exorcist, Crusader, Punisher, Executioner, Bishop, Bayonet Priest, Blade Master, The Angel's Dust, Dust to Dust, The Purifier, The Ripper, The Regenerator, The Killing Judge, The Monster Hunter, The White Knight, The Blue Light of Persecution, Iscariot's Trump Card, The Golden Cross Bearer, The Judas Priest, Saint Guillotine, Gods Monster and Assassin.

Does ANY of the above titles make you think he's about to start swallowing unholy, abominable, Umbilical Cords?!

this kinda does
Gods Monster and Assassin.
also these are honestly pretty neutral overall, 50-50 chance of someone with them doing it or not
The Ripper, The Regenerator, The Killing Judge, The Monster Hunter,

not saying i think he would, just saying that titles aren't really the best argument for it

I know little to nothing about Bloodborne so can someone explain why this could potentially derail the game's plot (and set it on fire)?

I just have to interject that "Saint Guillotine" is possibly the best pseudo-Catholic monster hunter title in the word, and I'm grateful to Hellsing for giving it to us.
