I think that a keyblade was not part of the more crossover vote because that vote was more about characters. I personally would like for Serras to eventually forge a keyblade.
I could see her making some kind of skeleton key, since opening and closing anything she wants sounds great (although, maybe only to a degree, since you could solve like, a lot of problems in 40K with just that. 'Oh, hey, lemme just close the eye of terror real quick...' stuff like that), but I see no reason why she'd want to make said skeleton key big enough to wack things with.
A Paradise World that had precisely no AA defense. Magnus is supremely arrogant.
The thing with Serras is that she is psychologically stable. Every Primarch has a fatal flaw. Sanguinius has a martyr complex plus the whole vampire thing. Dorn has the social skills of a rock (which to be fair is cultural) and was a massive masochist. Guilliman is a control freak. Lion has even less social skills than Dorn and hates people to boot. Ferrus is a brutish prick. Fulgrim is a narcissist. Perturabo is a mildly sociopathic manchild. Horus is even more arrogant than Magnus, which is a huge achievement. Lorgar is a fanatic. Corax hates himself bordering on obsession. Jaghatai is psychologically stable, but is a loner by choice and this caused problems in the early heresy. Russ is a hypocritical asshole, though the asshole part is partially cultural. Angron is self explanatory. Mortarion rubbed everyone the wrong way on day one, and went deeper into hypocrisy than Leman (again, a huge achievement). Vulkan's only real fault is pyromania bordering on obsession but it got bad enough to burn an Eldar child alive. Curze is sadistic and his one redeeming factor is that he takes this out on criminals. Alpharius and Omegon have an insane inferiority-superiority complex and this leads to a complexity addiction.
Isn't her flaw that she's very emotionally attached to people and has a massive need to spend time with them (to the point of near-addiction)? It's listed in her character sheet. Admittedly it isn't that big of a flaw given her circumstances but if she were isolated for a while by, say, landing in an uninhabited area on Thernus rather than near the Governor's place, she would be, for lack of a better word, clingy and possessive. It's by circumstance that she's so well-adjusted and even separating her from people now would have very noticeable effects on her mental state.
As for Magnus, having some proper competition for psychic knowledge would cut down on his ego a bit since in canon, there were no other psychic Primarchs for him to lose against. Now, he's being beaten out by a teenager who is building an entire psychic language while he hasn't really done much. That ought to give him some motivation to do things better. Maybe he can be the one to create the Weave?

I could be convinced otherwise, but I'm pretty sure people would jump ship en masse and the thread would blow up. Again.
To clarify. Something exactly like a Keyblade is unlikely. An Interference-style Lockshield or something similar is not out of the question.
Let me clarify. Something exactly like a Keyblade is not on the table, both because of author fiat, and because Keyblades were originally made as failed copies of the X-Blade, and Serras doesn't have that blueprint handy.
Something similar, such as an Interference-style Lockshield, which has similar properties but is a very different thing, is acceptable, and would likely provide a similar boost. As in, Sora's 'Imma just cut through a city block of skyscrapers and send some flying' feat is not just TWTNW weird physics. That's an essentially baseline human. Imagine the nonsense even a Primarch of no significant psychic might by their standards (Sanguinis, Corax, etc.) could get up to. They can already kill armies single-handed once they build up a head of steam, as Chaos Angron has.

Actually, the form of the X-Blade is imprinted in/on all hearts because they themselves are lesser copies of Kingdom Hearts itself, thus the blueprint for a Keyblade is also inside a persons Heart, one of the necessary components to be able to forge a Keyblade in the first place is knowing your Heart and, possibly, Soul, which takes A LOT of meditation and self reflection among other things, the Self Rune is a good start on getting that going but that's just the beginning and is more about the Body and Soul than the Heart which is a completely different and separate metaphysical structure.

See the problem with that is, unlike the other crossovers, where it's real easy to just convert to 40k and plop em in as a side addition off in some corner of space, this would involve changing something at the base and would have all sorts of implications. And that sort of thing is what people are reaaaal iffy on.

Yeah, where I draw the line at the crossover stuff is where it actually has a big impact on the universe as a whole. I'm really not a fan of anything that's gonna be completely gamechanging. If there are crossover elements they have to be consistent with the rest of the setting.

I always imagined it being copied into a pale imitation by Malal for an Organization XIII-expy Chaos Warband. Speaking of, it would make for a nice, short non-canon codex.
The Keyblade Wars and the Lamenters Recruitment Process
The Lamenters Warband numbers at eleven at any given time. Though infinitesimally small in number compared to the Legiones Astartes and the other Traitor Warbands, they are also the sole wielders of the Dark Weapons known as the Keyblades. These seemingly unwieldy blunt objects can nonetheless cut adamantium and daemonic flesh, amplify the user's psychic power of its wielder by at least tenfold, and open extremely stable portals through the Warp. It is said that this force multiplier is what allowed the Chaos Lord Malakim Phoros to scour a daemon world clean of life within a year. This same power, however, comes at a steep price, and the Renegade Chaos God is only able to maintain a few of these Keyblades at any time when they are not regularly consuming daemons and souls. Hence their rarity, and the process with which the Lamenters are recruited.
When a Lamenter perishes, their patron god Malal, the originator of their potent weapons, initiates what is known as a Keyblade war. Within the same year of the time of death, 1111 Chaos worshipers are gifted a Keyblade of lesser power; only slightly more potent than a force sword. No pattern exists between these recruits save a deeply held hatred for the corrupt faith which they preach towards, and a willingness to break their gods' chains when given the chance.
The Chaos God of Darkness then imprints onto their minds a compulsive and nigh-insurmountable duty to prove their worthiness. Each must slay with their newfound weapon 9 Lords of Change, 8 Bloodthirsters, 7 Unclean Ones, 6 Keeper of Secrets, and 81 lessor daemons of their choosing.
Naturally, few ever move past this stage (though at least one always seems to), and it is said that the most recruits which accomplished this task in the same war is 13 Chaos Space Marines from the same warband in the Eleventh Keyblade War in M34.562. In the event there are more than one at this stage, the survivors are then pitted against each other to the death until one remains. At this point, their Keyblade, having feasted on blackened hearts and one-hundred-and-eleven daemons, will have ascended to a 'true' Keyblade. Only then is the recruit formally inducted into the Lameters.
Thirty-two Keyblade Wars occurred between M31 and M41. These wars are marked by long periods of exceptionally high level of infighting among Chaos worshipers, and the destruction of strategically valuable daemon worlds. As a result, the Imperium once practiced the assassination of Lamenters when the opportunity arose, and at least ten Lamenters were killed as a direct or indirect result of Imperial intervention. However, while the most powerful of these weapons disappear upon their wielder's death, the tens of thousands of lesser copies remain in the Materium and Immaterium, and once lied in the hands of thousands of Chaos Warbands thanks to the Lamenters recruitment trial, resulting in a near-victory for Chaos in the Eleventh Black Crusade. The number of lesser Keyblades have since then decreased, as their wielders have been viciously hunted by forces from Malal and the Imperium.
Seven lesser Keyblades have fallen into the hands of the Imperium of Man. Six of them are locked deep within Prospero's faults of dangerous and forbidden artifacts, studied under the strict supervision of the Cult of the Ibiseus, while the last is said to be located on Thernus. Among their findings, a correlation was found with the blades' age. The younger the Keyblade is, the easier it is to open stable warp portals. But with this stability, the Darkness, a malevolent power separate from the taint of the Warp, could breach just as easily into the Materium. Extrapolation suggests that, should another Keyblade war begin, the next 'true' Keyblade forged it will be able to create a stable breach for Darkness to overwhelm an entire [REDACTED BY ORDER OF I.I.A. Funny you mention that, I actually had an anthology omake I was working on which feature him working on a wonder. Might as well post the snippet now that I have momentum and Zavvano puts a post between this one and the last one.
Unseen Actions: The Inspired Magician
*
For all the boons and achievements granted upon the Bastion by the Lady Serras, one should remember that she does not stand alone at the peak of mankind, nor does the Bastion represent all of humanity. Across the Galaxy, more than twenty of her brothers, Primarchs themselves, make plans to face what challenges await them, regardless of the triumphs and tragedies within the Bastion. Superhuman in mind and body, they too are raising empires with equipment and stratagems to outclass the xenos and warlords that sought to snuff them out. And above all of them, the Master of Mankind makes ready to push beyond the boundaries of the inner solar system of Sol to begin the Great Crusade proper and reunite his children with his newly-founded warriors: the Space Marines.
*
"I have a hard time believing this artifact can enhance your...'creativity', Magnus."
"You are not the only one, Jack. Still, I believe it is worth investigating."
The two Primarchs sat across each other, a stack of paper and a creativity crystal sitting between them, with walls, runes and other psychic enhancements surrounding them. The chamber was one which the two brothers were acquainted with since childhood, where Amon brought them to meditate in isolation from the ambient turbulence of the Great Ocean. Thus it was ideal for the ritual they were committing, for it needed to be done flawlessly and without distraction.
The way Serras described these Orks made them sound like Thunder Warriors. He knew what Father's soldiers could accomplish when few in number. He shuddered to imagine what billions of them could do. The devastation would be catastrophic if the greenskins had even a fraction of the super-humans' prowess. His sister assured him everything was well in hand, but her earlier tirade left much of that in doubt.
"Here it goes," he states, "if anything strange happens Jack, cut off my connection to the crystal immediately."
"Define 'strange' mister 'I-leveled-everyone-up-at-once'," Jack quipped.
"Oh for-that situation was hardly worth joking about," Magnus groaned, and began focusing his power into the crystal. Immediately, it glowed brighter.
And then possibility opened.
His mind was bombarded with disjoint images flashing by faster than even he could catch, bits and pieces of knowledge tumbling about, breaking down and re-merging into new ideas and creations. Glimpses of plans and schematics standing on the boundary of his mind were brought to the forefront at blistering speeds.
Runic languages that could emulate the operations of a cogitator. Alchemical formulas to transmute common metals into adamantium. Magical organs that can enhance a psyker's physical might. Soul-infused nanotech machines, able to re-forge itself into flesh or machine, archaotech or geneseed, all with perfect psychic puppetry. Spells to cast energy beams, simulate flight, raise skyscrapers, harvest suns, or even raise the dead. Insights and solutions that never crossed his mind suddenly became obvious. But none of them fit his need. He needed to focus on his desire to help Serras until…
There. In his mind's eye, a stream of thought suddenly halted.
Spanning across the mental landscape, he perceived the ever shifting barrier of crystals from before, still folding in ways that strained his psychic vision. Undoubtedly, this mockery of his niece is what's halting his sister's vision. But no ork or psyker could muster the power to erect this psychic shroud so quickly. Not even Father.
Magnus flashed back to a talk with Serras three years ago, of entities surpassing Greater Daemons in power and malice. Is this their work?
He shook his head. Fixing his inability now, portents of eldritch villainy latter.
His query found, Magnus concentrated his power onto the thought-strand that remained, plucking it off the barrier.
When thread began unwinding itself into something new, Magnus furrowed his brow in confusion.
"Why…" he muttered, for the structure being manifested was a familiar sight in Tizca.
Designed to Magnus's specifications, the hexagonal pyramid before him resembled those undergoing construction as of now. Thanks to the Bastion's insights passed on by his sister, the application of archology philosophy promised to make the new structures into major urban centers for the Primarch's gentrification project.
But as he looked closer, he saw it was not an exact copy. Across its surface were countless Warp crystals studded in the polished rockcrete. Before he could decipher their type and power, the vision drew his attention to the runes strewn across the rest of the surface in the myriad runic scripts of Prospero. Along the inscriptions were channels etched into the rockcrete, where concentrated warp-energies leaked from the crystals and flowed upwards to the peak of the structure. Atop it was a capstone of a concept crystal two orders of magnitude larger than even a crystal of the tenth tier. Again, its type escaped him as the abominable veil started creeping into his vision.
"Come on, just a little more," Magnus says, pouring yet more power into the crystal, "I need to know what you are. What your purpose is." It was getting harder to focus the image in his mind, but through the haze, he could see the massive array pool its psychic energies into the capstone, creating a blinding light before the energy is suddenly ejected upwards in a white beam aimed towards-
"Argh!" And suddenly, the world drew inwards and Magnus was back in the mediation chamber.
"Ah, good, you didn't pull new powers out your ass again," Jack says, "I was starting to get worried there."
Magnus massaged his head. "I almost wish it was." He reached out with his powers more carefully (feeling a slight headache come on) to summon a stack of papers to him.
Prospero had developed techniques for psychic inscription long ago, and it was trivial for Magnus to quickly sketch what he saw in as much detail as he could.
"Okay," Jack said, "I was expecting something new."
"It is new, from a certain point of view," Magnus retorted, "From what I can tell, the crystal had reconfigured my knowledge to produce new mental pathways and ideas."
"So it rearranged your idea of an archology," Jack stated, "What changed?"
"I…" Magnus paused for a second. "I don't know."
Jack crossed his arms. "Huh, there's something I've never heard before."
"What I meant is my knowledge on the construct is not total, brother, but what I can tell you is that it is most likely the largest geomantic construct I've yet seen, focusing thousands of Serras's warp crystals into a concentrated force of raw psychic power."
Jack quirked an eyebrow, "A building designed by you to be big, powerful, and ostentatious as hell. So basically, you want to make a giant metaphor of yourself?"
"Pt-of-NO!" Magnus sputtered, "It's much more than that. If it does what I think it does, we can create an amplifier of psychic powers that could multiply the potency of one's abilities severalfold. We could uses this to channel enough power to overcome the barriers to futuresight within the Orkish horde and supply valuable intelligence to our sister!"
"Wait-wait-wait-wait, hold on a second Magnus," Jack said while waiving a paper in front of Magnus, "Let's imagine for a second that all of what you just said is possible. And that Serras will go to war in less than five years and decide the outcome in…let's say ten years. We've only just started with the foundations of Tizca's archologies, and expect to finish them at the end of those five years, and you want us to make another one on top of that."
Jack pointed to the capstone "You also want to stuff this thing full of crystals, of which we don't even know what type we need, and then top this thing with a crystal that Serras, our foremost expert on them and your near-rival in power," He stressed that last part, "Is nowhere close, as far as we know."
"Then there is no time to be lost," Magnus stated, his eyes gleaming with fire, "We'll have to get with the Masons to prioritize its's construction. No-wait! We have to run tests at a smaller scale first, to see the validity of the design. Though it would add so much time-no-no-no hold on. Those small units could be used to empower our construction crews or form modules for the structure. We could even make the capstone out of smaller crystals using this same principle!
"Oh brother, there's so many things I missed that are so obvious now! I can't wait to share everything with you, it's so exciting!" Jittery with unusual excitement, the red Primarch exited the chamber to initiate his newfound plans.
Jack followed behind, rolling his eyes at Magnus's newfound excitement. "Brothers."

A/N: Below is another completed section of the original document. Also of dubious cannonicity.
It has been three days since my visions began.
Nairo suggested that I put these events down to record, on the off-chance it may be a sign given to me by the Powers. I am both humbled and uncertain of his theory.
In my vision, I see Colchis visited by four beings. At best as I could recall, for the realm of dreams is ethereal and fleeting, they four beings were:
A warrior-king wreathed in gold.
A red man with a glowing right eye.
A young girl in a dress of precious gems.
And the last, a fair maiden with hair of silver.
I find it difficult to correlate these four with the Powers that govern us, and thus why I am certain it is simply a dream. Perhaps the first could be the King of Valor, the second the Bishop of Wisdom, but the last two could not possibly be the Prince of Joy or the Patriarch of Life.
I have not yet told Nairo my doubts, and thus his conviction only grows, and father would have a heart attack should he hear such blasphemy. So I am left alone to ponder the meaning of this vision.
Surely, the Powers are real, are they not? History has proven that they once visited us, and father spoke vividly of the boons they once granted to him and his associates in the temples. But then why, if this vision is truly of divine origin, would show beings that could not be them? Is this a test of my conviction?
Why me?
I ask this because last night, I had the vision again. But as my eyes fell over the two women, I imagined the girl's gems conjuring themselves in my hand. I swear that my dream-self is responsible. I know not what it means, but if the vision is true, then the manifestation of these crystals must be the sign to look out for.
Perhaps in a future vision I would be shown how to replicate this miracle. But until then, I shall record my visions and any new information that will come to light.
If this is a message from the Gods, then I hope that my actions do not disappoint.
If this is a spell of madness, then I hope its grasp upon me does not last forever.

Not really, for Warhammer Souls exist in the Warp, Bodies exist in the world of matter and Hearts exist elsewhere, probably near the World Heat or in a dimensional shell anchored to the body.
