I am curious about something.

With our current level of psyker safety gear and crystals, for someone born a psyker in the Bastion; what type of personality is at the limits of what is stable or acceptable?

It may be a hard to understand question, but I will try to use an example:

Imagine someone with autism, OCD, and a few other things. They where born a psyker, would it be better to depower them to minor or normal, or is there an acceptable upper limit for someone like that?

I imagine thanks to Bastion Culture being open and accepting of people regardless of psyker potential and mental illness would be given the proper techniques, gadgets and medicine to properly control their powers.

Maybe people with different ways of thinking like OCD might be better or worse at certain disciplines of psyker schools?

OCD is about obsessiev thoughts and behaviors in general beyond the general cleaning stereotype.

It could be bad if someone fixated on numbers fixates on the chaotic ones while being a psyker. And with how we have a population in the trillions, that is not that ridiculous for someone counting and tapping things in their room while counting to something like six.

Here is an example of a "one, two, three, four" pattern square, with a base block beings those first four numbers, then done till it makes one square, then built up. Someone ma Can it be said someone similar to me could not be lead to think "oh, that is just half of eight"?:

On the other hand, someone like that might actually be put off by how disorganized and anxiety-inducing the Warp is.

If that's the case, the approach is going to be very similar to the Eldar and their Paths, right?

That makes sense. As it is not just the cleaning type like I said.

I was not trying to get so realworldy, I just think it would be interesting to see a chart or list of psykers and non-psykers, and recommendations for who should or shouldn't be raised or lowered on the power scale.

Like a list of people who participate in the thread or people from in universe?

Because the first one sounds fun well the second is far below our current level of abstraction and would create more work for little reason.

FIRST THING: yissss, Chaos Undivided Serras is as awesome as I expected, now we know what route we shall take.

SECOND THING: we have the potential and Items to create a really kick ass Lightning Claw(Or a Power fist but Lightning Claws are cooler) we could make it for our Non-dominant hand while we use our sword in the other, the idea is to make each of the "Fingertips" of the claw a Crystal of Damage or of any type of crystal that is useful for melee, it also would look cool as fuck. especially if it is one of those Talon-styled Lightning Claws(Like the one Horus used.)

I do not mean form ilbgar or anyone. Mostly just thinking. and I did not mean named characters if that is what you are thinking.

Sort of like:

"Candidate One is at a level of self-control and restraint to handle an increase to their psionic power, and could be trusted to handle psionic abilities at a Beta Psyker level" or "Candidate three's inherent instability of the soul merits their current Zeta-Level rating."

but your idea of a list of questers and how much they could handle would be interesting.

I think I could handle Zeta-level diviner/telepath.

When the next vote comes up we should get all of our skills into the advanced stage. Then we'll be able to take a much look into necron tech and science with all the benefits that implies.

You're like a year late for the train man that's what we were planning to do next turn anyways also we don't have Necron tech to look into really. Plus even if we did have Necron tech we wouldn't be able to research it with advanced skills as Necron tech is at least a skill level or two higher then advanced which is kind of low balling it since that's the level DAOT tech is on which is probably less advanced then Necron tech.

...You know what this is better than people going "update when" We're already like Advanced in everything thanks to being on a peaceful planet where we can spend all our time training and upgrading.

Correct. It goes Basic, Advanced, Exotic, Relic, Divine, and the Necrons were at Relic. You could reverse-engineer their tech at Exotic, but improving on it would require Relic. The Old Ones had Divine psychic engineering and biotech. The C'Tan, due to existing since the beginning of time, had Divine knowledge on pretty much everything besides those two fields, but lacked the motivation to actually apply it since they were more or less content with eating stars. The Necrons provided them both a decent tech base to work with, and the motivation to make really high-end stuff. The Necrontyr were barely past the Relic threshold in most fields theoretically, while the Necrons regularly deploy Relic weapons at their Crypteks' direction.

You know if it weren't for the fact we are having the update next Wednesday that not only gives us SL bonuses due to maxing out Social Links with people like our adoptive father, but also a completely revamped system, I'd actually bother with recording this stuff for future reference.

The update mostly reduces the amount of math I have to do. A lot of the thresholds are fairly similar.

Also, on Chaos, just for the record. I acknowledge that they have positive traits. Nex being pure horror and evil is because it's essentially a Super Chaos God, made of the worst parts of the Chaos Gods.

"And so in order to optimize returns on investments you must understand the basics of annuities and the present value of one."

Nah just kidding. We have faith you got at least enough of the bloat down to where you're writing more than plugging numbers in spreadsheets.

another route we can take if we go Chaos is the Robotian Heresy Vulkan route, instead of pledging ourselves to a Chaos God, we become a Chaos god just like RH Vulkan did, he became a fucking Dragon!!

also in regards to the Lighting claw Idea of mine( I thought of calling it Hydaelyn's hand, since its basically a Lighting claw Studded with Crystals), I realized that we could also make it from the Wraithbone like construct we created(We did that did we, I don't remember if we succeeded) and put a Support Crystal in the palm to help our warp magic in that hand.

this may seem annoying but I will not give up until we have a Lighting claw, they are the Coolest looking power weapon of the whole Setting.

Here's the thing, Serras joining Chaos would require she be utterly broken. The kind of broken that most people simply kill themselves over. Unless, of course, she's actually in service to Malice and pulling a long-con. The Chaos gods don't have to give their followers blessings, after all, and Chaos Undivided followers tend to be the least loyal to any one Chaos god, so her being incredibly mercenary about her service wouldn't be all that suspicious. Usually it would be in exchange for bits of pyschic lore and knowledge that Malice gets a significant portion of while she sells artifacts to the highest bidder that, while not Vulkan's work, are still better than almost anything a non-Primarch might make and sometimes outfits Malice with shipments that were 'ambushed' by his forces.

The claw thing is perfectly viable.

Honestly I'd love to read an Omake of "Serras Makes a wargear." If you're willing to write it well enough I'm sure ilbgar might want to make it canon.

She could also just go crazy, fall for a trick set up by Chaos willingly handing over control of herself without even knowing what she's doing or be forced to join them despite not wanting to like Magnus did.

Although it'd take a significant enough chunk of power from the Chaos gods at this point that the Emperor would notice so this would have to be one of the opening moves of the Heresy if they wanted to do it at all.

It'd have to take a great level of fuckery akin to the Burning of Prospero for that to happen. And frankly if we acted so dumb we ended up fucking up harder than Magnus when he broke the Human Webway we kind of deserve to die.

Well, those are all options, but unlike Magnus, she is deeply suspicious of the Warp, she just thinks it's too useful not to use, and she is aware that Chaos is a thing, even if the exact scope is not clear. Any deal she might make with them would require Magnus tier desperation. Joining up with them otherwise? See above. If she went crazy Malice and Chaos proper would be equally valid options.

In fact, Malice might be more likely, since the sort of nihilistic outlook you saw in Realistic Chaos could be argued as a sort of super-sanity. She's too deeply aware of both her faction's and her own failings to really try anything, because it's even more doomed to failure than the Imperium.

After everything I'm honestly curious as to what a Chaos Serra would be like.... I hope that someone talented could do a What-If series of it someday

there is also the possibility of pulling a Fulgrim and accidentally picking a Daemon possed weapon.

that is a Good Idea, thanks!
