A Typical High School Life Filled with Supernatural Battles

Okay so idea

Create A3 PaperFold Into shiriken

Harden into Steel and Sharpen it.

Now we have a Free flying rasor sharp spinning blade.

[X] Plan Make my day
-[X]Open with diplomacy does he really want to kill someone? and point out we just killed a Golem killing a person is Much easier.
-[X] Create an A3 construct shiriken
-[X] Harden it as much as possible
-[X] Sharpen all the edges as much as possible
-[X] Spin as fast as possible
-[X] Demonstrate it's cutting power and point out how eaisly we could just cut his neck and watch him bleed out, does he really want to do this?

He's mugging people with lethal force for more power. I'd say he warrants lethal force in return, let alone anything so merciful as crippling. That said, we could just put the blade to his throat if you'd rather. Threaten rather than cripple. Better, you think?

Yes sure I am against life ruining injury on the principle that a quick death is far more merciful than slow agonizing despair.

[x] Fight! Your unnamed opponent is spoiling for a fight. Give him one with added ass-whooping. Plus you'll probably get more sparks by beating them as well.

yea no, should fight and take this guys star power. he's to violent and doesn't deserve power like these if he's willing to fight a random stranger. forget diplomacy to cause he's the type I don't care about working with. we have form and hardness at level 2. just find a way to knock him out can us sharpness to slice his chains or whatever.

-[X] Hit him with a storm of paper with Control 2, using Form 2 to make a big sheet that covers his eyes and then make it as hard as aluminum with Hardening 2. Harden two others to reinforce that.
-[X] Have all but one of your remaining sheets swarm him to overload his sense of touch and confuse him further.
-[X] While he's reacting to that, harden and sharpen your last sheet, and put it to his throat. Make sure he's aware of how thin the ice he's standing on is.
-[X] Then, dictate diplomacy. We'll drop him near a public area once he's calmed down.
-[X] If your plan is disrupted in some way, don't be too attached to it; just paper storm him, and book it.

changed vote

Who says anyone has to die?
No one, we are trying to take him down non lethally

Can you Use a plan?

Im mean my shiriken Idea at least would work as it's basically a flying homing Busssaw of death.

Added one last thing, we still need a coat after all.

Stupid faulty wish.

I don't like any of the plans since it kinda let's him off and he keeps his star powers.
@shibosho how to we take away someones star power/energy and add it to our own?
Does taking someones star power do anything bad to the user besides taking away their powers?

Nah, see, this is at least based on anime. Tough kid who attacks out of the blue with barely-coherent dialogue after nearly soloing the level 1 boss? In a manner that we can defeat with our current abilities given only a second or two of thought and creativity? Guaranteed party member down the line. Once we trash him, he'll swear himself to our service to learn our secrets in a second. :lol

We could maybe suffocate him until he loses consciousness? Should not be to hard. Just place paper over his nose, mouth and eyes (blinding him) and wait until he's out.

Yes lets steal his coat, we love coats.

"Date? What are you talking – oh. Chill! It's nothing like that!" You begin explaining, blushing slightly once you realize what Lucille was thinking. "All I asked if you wanted to come to my place to join me and my family for dinner. You know, as thanks for saving my bacon last night."
"Oh. That makes sense." Lucille mutters almost sounding disappointed before perking up
Aaw, they're totally into each other. One of them at least. Also, typo on the first line.

"Fufufu, oh you player, you. Bringing a girl home for dinner! I'd never would have imagined! My little baby boy is growing up so fast." Your mum says as she pinches your cheek affectionately. You growl and pull your mother off you. She simply laughs mirthfully and waves you off. "Now go be a gentleman and keep your girlfriend company!"

"Mum! She's not like that! She's a friend. Not a girlfriend!"
"That's what I said. A girl friend, a girl who happens to be your friend. What did you think I was saying, dear?" She asks innocently.

The mother knows. Also, moar typos.

"Y-Yeah, I thought as much!" Lucille agrees a little too hastily. She fidgets on the couch uneasily before jumping to her feet with a forced smile, "Say, can I see your room? I've never been in a boy's room before!"

And here the girl confirms she's never been in a boy's room and yet she immediately asks to go to James'. Heh.

".....I haven't spoken to them since I started high school." Lucille confesses, her cheeks reddening in shame. That got a reaction from your mum and older sister. Alice just tilts her head in confusion while you yourself give your friend a questioning look. "There was this huge fight over grandpa's inheritance. My parents wanted to take control over it despite my grandfather explicitly saying that I was to have full control over it. We had a row, things were said, and I left the house, taking my grandpa's fortune with me."

*drama! counter increases*

"It's sounds like one of my soap operas!" Your mother gushes, causing you and your older sister to hit the table with your heads. After your father and you and your sisters, your mothers just loves soap operas.

No typos here, but that line could be revised to be more clear.

"Is that so?" Where was Lucille heading with this?
Another one.

You didn't mind, you tell her. You're just glad that she had a good time at your place. You also tell her that if she ever needs a shoulder to cry on or someone to listen to her rant, you're always ready to lend a hand.
Hey, watch out, giving out "nice guy" vibes will totally wrack your chances.

Your face heats up from feeling of her lips on your skin, no matter how brief and you stare at Lucille with wide eyes... You see her face is just as red as well. "O-Okay then! Good night then!"
Another one. It was missing a dot here.

Good old Yorizen City, a mix of Japanese and American culture blended together into a cohesive anarchic whole somehow.
That explains why the main character had an American name and yet he was being respected by his fellow students. Anyway, random encounter time!

[X] Plan JRPG battle!

---[X] While he's reacting to that, harden and sharpen your last sheet, and put it to his throat. Make sure he's aware of how thin the ice he's standing on is.
----[X] Then, interrogate him for what he knows.
-----[X] Lastly, use to paper to suffocate him until he's knocked out.
------ [X] Should he prove to be too strong, immediately leave.

Real men never run away, they fight to death! And occasionally perform a tactical retreat, but we can take this guy here.

I don't think your gonna take away someones star powers by just talking to them I think we have to at least knock him out.

[X] Flee. You are not going to deal with this right here and now. Nope. Just no. You have standards after all and this walking mob character isn't up to scratch.

Meh. Not worth the effort. We've got our kill, leg it.

If that's the case, then so be it. We already killed the golem, and should get a star out of that based on previous experience. The night's not a total loss, and knocking somebody out without causing permanent damage is harder then most people think, even with the "safer" techniques such as the one everybody's been suggesting: suffocation. That level of precision is difficult or impossible to achieve, especially given that any given person's levels of resilience and their specific weak points tend to vary. It's why gun safety hits the point that you should never aim at something you don't intend to kill so hard; even if you hit somebody in the finger it might kill them (unlikely, for a finger, but nonetheless possible). It's a (secondary) reason of why self-defense in general stresses leaving the situation as swiftly as possible; if you're not good enough to win it's for your own safety, and if you are, it's for your opponent's.

Which is why my plan (once somebody pointed out that causing harm was an unnecessary step) calls for the threat of violence rather than any actual violence, followed by disengaging if that falls through.

EDIT: The only reason I don't want to just leg it is because this jackass is being aggressive enough that I doubt our ability to disengage without first getting stuck in enough to thoroughly disable his ability to pursue. Just running doesn't work when you're within the reach and sight of an opponent who fires hard projectiles.

The only reason I consider fighting is that the dude is aggressive enough to turn on someone who is less combat-ready than James.

Legging it is extremely easy, since our powers lend themselves perfectly to distractions. It's a major part of your plan, even.

I know, but if we go far enough to disable the way I call for, he's a flicker of our attention away from having a blade at his throat, and why not take that opening? Running requires the distraction, the distraction requires effort, and that effort demands justification. I don't pick running because I'm interpreting it as just running -- and taking the steps needed to make that non-suicidal mean that taking the extra step to total victory is trivial.

And, finally, I'm slightly annoyed at the people doomsaying about how our entire power set is combat-ineffective because we didn't take Control 3, and would like to have a victory under our belts in order to give us some confidence in ourselves, especially one so easy as this promises to be.

personally I find it retarded to be passive in a situation like this. humans were given powers that make them above other people and this guy is clearly the type to misuse them. hell based of the fact that it seems that the golem was retreating from him, kinda hints that this guy is actively going out and searching to fight to get stronger and doesn't seem to mind fighting random power users that he meets to take their power way. plus he's a delinquent and I bet sooner or later he won't mind flexing his on poor normal people if he can get away with it.

I don't mind diplomacy with other power users but no trigger happy ones it shows what kind of people they are and how they'll abuse their powers in the future. Also its not about me wanting to play hero or anything, sometimes you gotta take a gamble and fight. it's only been what 2 days? the guy can't be that much stronger then us. but if we run and wait this punk will just get even more stronger. I Also don't like the fact that he could maybe team up with other bad power users. personally when ever we run into a trigger happy powers user I'm ready to vote to take their star powers.

Even then, this is an anime-based Quest, so chances are he'll be hard to kill, even if we intentionally try to off him, so it should be safe to bash that punk to the ground until he's thoroughly immobilized. Should the worst happen and he accidentally dies... No matter, he's criminal scum, he won't be missed nor he'll be able to potentially get stronger and harass innocent people.

Just because he's criminal scum -- and I'm not convinced he's completely irredeemable given we're barely heard three or so sentences from him -- doesn't mean we can get into the habit of being careless with our attacks. Not every opponent we fight will be an irredeemable monster, and we should engage with the expectation of potentially lethal force being a last resort. And that doesn't factor in what might happen if we get into fights around civilians without any due caution. Caution now breeds caution later; we should get used to not going all-out against living opponents. Plus, I doubt diplomacy would even be an option if he was completely unable to be talked down.
