[REDACTED] - VOLUME 2
Prologue: The City of Rising Stars - A Child's Imagination Halation
A hundred years ago, an asteroid struck the Earth. By some twist of misfortune, this asteroid landed in the middle of a city. The impact resulted in the destruction of nearly half the city and left behind a large crater in the middle of what remained. It was a disaster that no country could have been prepared for. The city, wounded gravely by the asteroid, was on the verge of death. However, salvation came in the form of Japanese immigrants who help rebuild the city using their own methods and style, and by the wealth of a single man by the name of Travis Starr.
The once devastated city was soon revitalised into a flourishing metropolis where western and eastern culture were intertwined with one another. The crater was filled up and turned into a beautiful lake surrounded by parklands and the city became known as a centre for many cultures besides the dominant Eastern and Western themes. This city, of American and Japanese architecture combined, was renamed after the man who made it possible to bring it back to live, becoming Starr City. Soon after, at the urging of Travis Starr himself, the name was discarded and a competition was held to find a better name for the rebuilt city.
A child whose handwriting left much to be desired sent in a letter written in crayons. On it was three words, "Your Risen City."
And so, the city came to be known as Yorizen.
...
She had woken up to find that her friends had increased in numbers once again. Every morning, they would greet her and she would return their greeting. After she had changed into her school uniform, she wiled away the time by talking with her friends. Or so she tried to.
"Have you heard the news? Several new stars have been born!"
"That's old news! That's old news! The newest news is that several stars have already gone out!"
"Um, guys?"
"I hear that the brightest Star belongs to the Strongest!"
"Eh? I heard the brightest Star belongs to the Smartest!"
"Hey, are you listening?"
"You're both wrong! It belongs to our friend for isn't she the brightest Star that we've ever set eyes upon?"
"Jumping Christmas Biscuits! You're absolutely right! Without her, we wouldn't even be here"
"By Googly eyes, you are correct! She is indeed the brightest for being the source of our existence! Let's give her a present!"
"Er, that's very nice and all but…"
"Ooh! ooh! I know what will make her smile! Breakfast in bed!"
"No! A pony!"
"Pft, that's small stuff. Let's get her a tyrannosaurus rex!"
"Guys!"
Her friends turned to her, having realised that she had been trying to get their attention for a while now. She almost shrank back from the attention but quickly rallied her courage and gave her friends a glare filled with annoyance.
"You! You said that there're some new stars were born. What kind of stars were they?"
"Ooh! Ooh! I can tell, I can tell! A papyrusy one, a mindful one, a floating kind of one, a sandy kind of one, and a pudding kind of one."
"Oh, okay then...How about you, what stars went out recently?"
"That's super easy! A shocking one was crushed by the strongest one, a multiplying one was scared by the papyrusy one, a lasery one was run over by the car one, a zombie one was blown up by an exploding one, and a hero one was eaten by a monster one!"
"Huh, I'd thought that the hero Star would have beaten the monster one."
"Who knows? Maybe the Monster one got lucky?"
"Perhaps...So who's the brightest Star beside me?"
"The Strongest!"
"Yep! Still the Strongest!"
"As expected. Essentially it won't be easy to topple the Strongest from the position of the Brightest. Anything else you guys want to tell me?"
"Ooh! Ooh! I've got something! The binding one is gonna do something big real soon! A lot of Stars are gonna get involved and lots of them are gonna get put out! It's gonna be a big party!"
Before she could ask her friends to elaborate, someone knocked on her door.
"Hey, it's time for breakfast!"
That was her sibling. As usual, they were the one to come and make sure she came down for breakfast.
"Okay! I'll be right then!"
She quickly gathered her things and headed out of her room. The door was left ajar and without her knowing, her sibling had stayed back to take a look inside. However, they found nothing but a child's empty bedroom. Dismissing their thoughts as paranoia, they headed downstairs.
As usual, she must have been talking with her imaginary friends.

Today seemed like it was going to be a normal day. You woke up in bed like always and came down for breakfast like you do every day. Breakfast was normal with the exception of some light teasing from the girls of your family about you and Lucille but you waved them off. That was between you and your club president after all.
You headed to school and was ambushed by Maddy who rewarded you with a coupon for ten percent off at the local pizza joint. It was when you reached school that things stopped being normal. There was a large crowd had gathered near the school building and you noticed that the plain wall of the building now had a mural.
It was an elaborate piece of graffiti art that depicted a teenager in a black Japanese-style gakuran uniforms with chains coming out from his back. Behind him were a crowd of others guys in black uniforms as well. At the end of the chains coming out from the central figure's back were spikes that had various different kinds of students impaled on it. Above all the impaled victims were cracked stars. The teenager had a hand out with the middle finger raised and at the top and bottom of the artwork were the words.
"THIS IS OUR DECLARATION OF WAR!"
To all the other students, it looked like the punks from Ichiyama were messing with North Rizen. However, you easily understood the true message behind the art.
The Gifted from Ichiyama High had declared war on the Gifted of North Rizen High.
Goddamn it.
There goes your peaceful everyday school life.

Despite the commotion over this morning's discovery of Ichiyama's graffiti, the teachers were quick to get everyone under control and act like nothing was out of the ordinary. However, every student at North Rizen was talking about Ichiyama's supposed declaration of War against North Rizen and you were starting to feel a bit antsy about the whole thing. You seriously hope that this didn't happen because of what you did last night.
You don't want to be the cause of an inter-school war.
You really hope things won't come to that.
Zane was curiously absent today but you received a text message from him saying that some important came up and he had to skip classes today.
Madelyn was furious about the graffiti and Ichiyama's declaration and had started going around raising everyone's school spirit.
Things take a strange turn when you open your locker to get some stuff out for your next class when two letters come out, one in a white envelope sealed with a heart sticker and another in a yellow one. You open both letters and skim through them before doing a double-take.
Letter in the white envelope was a love letter from a secret admirer apparently, written in girly handwriting and scented with a sweet perfume. The letter was filled with a lot of purple prose but you manage to get the gist that they were asking you to meet them in Room 301 after school.
The other one looked like some kind of fight challenge...maybe? The handwriting was atrocious and you couldn't read half of it. It seems like the sender of this letter wanted you to meet them by the large cherry tree near the school lake after school. It had been signed but you couldn't read the name.
Unfortunately for you, the time indicated by both letters were the same meaning you could only go to one of the invitations.
What do you do?
[ ] Go see who your secret admirer is after school. After all, getting a love letter and having a girl be the one who confesses her love to you is enough to earn one of life's trophies, according to Zane.
[ ] Go to the cherry tree by the school lake after school. Even if it turns out to be a fight, it'll only make you stronger. After all, receiving a challenge to a fight after school is a man's romance. Right after giant robots of course.
[ ] Ignore both letters and head to the ORC to meet up with Lucille. You want to see what's her take on Ichiyama's war declaration.
[ ] Go home. You've had enough of this crap. Just go home and do normal teenage stuff.
