Wow no wonder the Apocryphal curse is worth two regular curses if it spontaneously generates nemeses. We should probably mitigate it first.

It does a lot more than that!

I like the idea, but maybe drop Talon? We're only got 3 remittances.

If he's going for a flavor of mitigation + utility, the core of the build would be Talon + Seals and Gisena + Retinue, so Intensify would most likely be the one on the chopping block!

Come on people, don't you want to be a mini-Accursed and give people the power of Progression in return for helping us? Especially if we have the Sword! How fitting would be that?

Retinue with Sword is not only good because it lets us offer something to any companions we get so they follow us; it also gives us something to offer to the people of the world we go to. And since we retain a majority of the progression factor and get even more exponential progress thanks to the Praxis, the chance of betrayal is low, especially if we demand the loyalty ceremony as a requirement for joining.

If we take Intensify with Orm's build as opposed to the safer Relinquish, it would be advised to constantly powerfight and 'proc' Apocryphal as much and as early as possible so it doesn't compound on itself and generate an unbeatable/degenerate xianxia protag/irritating foe. Such a playstyle would be personally appealing, we'd have constant fights with constant powerups.

I'd like to remind people of the arbitrary shenanigans we may be missing out on with intensify+seven seals+scepter.

If it works anything like Homestuck Punchcard Alchemy, we can combine a statue of a wizard with knitting needles to make functional magical foci. Or Sunglasses and a Smartphone to make Computer glasses that make Google Glass Jealous.

Think about what we can do with Rihakuverse level materials. There's something to be said for Talon+Seals builds.

Edit: Also Doom of the Tyrant Insurance.

You can't, pledges only work after you add them and removing them is costly. You could try to enforce it after the fact, but the pledge itself must be voluntary so coercion wouldn't work well.

I heard that the cool kids are naming their plans now, so let me throw my hat in the ring:
[X] Plan: Praxis + Max Seals + Vacation Days
-[X] The Sword That Ends the World
-[X] Seven Seals
-[X] Gisena Allria, the Nullity Sorceress
-[X] Forebear's Blade
-[X] Relinquishment

Praxis for that sweet, sweet lore. Already covered.

Seals because the utility, multipliers, and mitigation it offers appears more valuable than Accreion's conceptual biggatons. We're a Progression-type Cyrsebearer wielding the Praxis, that's literally all the conceptual weight necessary for almost anything, in time.

Gisena for a social minion and Curse mitigation right out the gate, two very useful things.

Forebearer's Blade to give us a boost to our Seals right off the bat, as well as boosting their Curse Mitigation down the line. I feel that Forebearer's Blade, combined with unhampered growth of Seals, will provide more mitigation opportunities than a boosted Gisena + crippled Seals.

Relinquishment because it's the most hax option on offer here, second only to the Accursed's favor. Seriously, the option to throw off Tyrant's Doom if we really need to negotiate or the Apocraphyal curse if we need a bit of downtime or any of our other Curses for any reason is amazing. Plus, the fact that our time off goes up and recharge time goes down with every mitigation we use, combined with our Curse of Decimation which is easier to mitigate in the short term and the mitigation offered by Seals + Gisene, means we might be seeing something more like two weeks off every nine years or something with a bit of effort. Just an amazingly powerful pick that would let us act without being hamstrung by Curses when we really need to.

By the way, there are some synergy bonuses! For example, if you get both Gisena and Prolessarch, they will commiserate about how much they both hate elves, increasing group morale!
Shame we can't snag Taishan, surely shared knowledge of the elven menace would overcome the Tyrant's Doom and the animosity between a Cultivator and Diagram Lich.
Baller. Would you consider Rihaku's Talon+Hunger? It seems fun to go full KEEP WHAT YOU KILL with Accretion to spice it up.
Talon's the obvious next pick for TSM, but dropping the Forebear's Blade discards a narrative link to his last world and while Relinquishment does nothing for us initially, in the long run it's way more relevant. The build has no other mitigation to start with. If we somehow scrape together another Remittance before the vote closes, yeah, otherwise sticking with this for now.

Alright. If we're gonna do the edgelord thing, let's at least actually finally get the Praxis out of it, instead of just repeating this insanity the next time it gets offered in a Rihakuquest.

[X] Plan Vengeance Can Be Praxis
-[X] The Sword That Ends the World
-[X] Seven Seals
-[X] Gisena Allria, the Nullity Sorceress
-[X] Forebear's Blade
-[X] Retinue

Sword That Ends The World is the whole point of this build.

Seals provide more reliable defenses and powers in the very immediate short term, and are more suited to mitigating Curses in the medium-short term.

Gisena provides a buddy for safety in numbers, can help mitigate a Curse, and means that we aren't turbofucked on the social front during the critical first few days.

Forebear's blade provides immediate power, meager as it might be compared to the threats we face, with the attendant bonus to survival. Also we better slap a bandaid on the Apocyphal Curse ASAP.

Retinue gives us a bribe to help attain Gisena's service, as well as making sure that our immediate purchase of a Companion remains a useful investment in the mid-term. It also means we can have actual loyal companions, which will obviously improve survival chances.

Relinquishment really is fantastic, but if we're going to be grabbing the Sword, I don't think we can afford to grab an option that will only provide benefits years from now.

It's only a re-vote in your eyes because your favored option survived! Just think about all the Mask voters! Nearly half the thread wouldn't have been able to give input into this critical decision...
A little over half the thread. Dread&Dreaming along with Balance voters would have been left hanging.

Rihaku, given that we have the Decimator's Affliction, do we have a sense for the amount of life-force in our target area (even if only on the level of 'sufficient/insufficient'), or is it hidden barring another ability?

Well, it appears Vendetta won. Oh well, at least I have one final chance to vote against VSword.

This plan seems nice, curse mitigation is great, especially with Decimator since I don't like playing the kind of guy that would sacrifice others for power. I'm down for any King's Scepter plans though.

The problem with Relinquishment with Sword is that it will be very useful in ten years, but ten years later is far past the risk zone for Sword. The most crucial period is now. We can't afford to take thing that take ten years to pay off.

@Redshirt Army my plan which is identical to yours already has a voter, cheesy name notwithstanding; It would be on our interest to consolidate.

Out of curiosity, can I ask what people's thought on what Plan Greed's primary weaknesses are? For the sake of having something to develop contingencies for.

Current vote count?

Hm, while Retinue pledges do prevent betrayal, they don't force your Retinue to listen to your commands necessarily. They can still refuse orders and do nothing under most circumstances (standing by while you're being assassinated would probably not be allowed, but refusing to go on a given mission is usually fine). Of course, it's nice having people you trust to watch your back. Or people you don't trust, whose possibility of betrayal has been removed by the Accursed.

Indeed.

Rihaku, given that we have the Decimator's Affliction, do we have a sense for the amount of life-force in our target area (even if only on the level of 'sufficient/insufficient'), or is it hidden barring another ability?

You'll start feeling the drain yourself if the life force is insufficient. So it's a binary thing.

I see a lot of Forebear's Blades being spelled Forbear, is that an autocorrect thing?

I realized something. Seven Seals+Forbears Blade may not actually be useful for Curse Mitigation without Kings' Scepter.

Basis:

With sufficient power, it is possible to mitigate the Curses imposed on you. This is encouraged and accepted by the Accursed. However, each marginal improvement in the circumstances of the Curse requires an exponentially greater sum of energy. For example, it might only require the dedicated work of a skilled archmage to reduce the duration of Slumber from sixteen to fourteen hours, but reducing it to twelve hours would take more than the sum total output of the universe.

If Skilled Archmage is the minimum threshold for Curse Mitigation, and we are barely above an average soldier in terms of what we can do with Seven Seals, then Seven Seals+Forbears Blade won't actually get us any curse mitigation(edit: from the getgo at least) without Kings' Scepter restoring us to our full glory. Time spent training Seven Seals costs you Praxis training time. From a curse mitigation standpoint, forbear's blade+seven seals is a terrible idea with Sword if my suspicions are right.

C'mon Rihaku, Gisena is being offered because she is compatible with us, and she's far from heartless.
