I agree we lose against Tyrant with his Legions after OaF.
But I think we win against the Legions then the Tyrant, or visa-versa.
Picks are good, is what I'm saying.

Yeah but that's relying on the Tyrant giving us an chance to pull that off. He's too competent, maybe he will throw everything he has at us during the first clash. We can't expect him to simply let us pull that off, especially since he has access to beings that know about Cursebearers.

Urg, this is hard, I want decimator, but I don't think the party will be safe if we SPLIT THE PARTY right after grabbing this much agro.

Its especially dangerous do to our scrying protection, the Protector cant see us, only our party, and he will be looking for them, the situation demands nothing less, and provides the perfect excuse to finally route the Loyalists.

Gis and the others aren't enough to hold him off, not even close.

Ok, I've convinced myself, the lives of friends are more important to me then the lives of strangers, god forgive me.

His Cloak of Evening reached out towards its counterpart, gently brushing against the stones, drawing greedily upon their power with the air of a drought-stricken wanderer slaking its thirst at last.
Past Me: Hey, with Sky Veil I wonder if Hunger can somehow "veil" the Opalescent Tower and abduct it. But it'd be a huge undertaking, requiring immense cleverness and-

You're absolutely correct, I suggest we go kill him so he can't keep us from pulling that off with his summons and cleverness!
He already has had enough time to prepare to some degree since we didn't take Cut Through. Trying to singlehandedly go for him might just result in us getting crushed. Best to get together with Eruntael and his legions and than push.

Huntress Moon Target might also be enough for us to grow beyond The Tyrant's ability to face us.

Without Breach, we wouldn't have had OaF, so this feels like the most probably Protector-blitzing path. Well, less mutual failure sabotaging our XP would be ideal, but still.

That's a good point DK. Moon Targets pretty much always yield picks themselves, and supposing that Hunger can out-grow this guy is reasonable.

I still favor aggression, for my own preferences, but I think pursuing mitigation and accepting a more protracted campaign is also viable.

I'm genuinely torn between OaF and Exalted Spirit. I've wanted to buff our party's lateral tactics for ages. On the other hand, there's the story of the genie who offers a guy one wish: Money, Popularity, or Wisdom. After wishing for wisdom the guy says, "I should've taken the money."

What where the Rolls anyway? They sound funny.
I don't know the specifics, but Adorie can direct you to the kitchen if you're interested in rolls.
Adorie nodded. "Of course! I'd gathered as such from your name. We are fortunate to house the most spectacular kitchens in the Voyaging Realm. Whether it's pastry, pie, or the most exquisite cakes in all the land, I'm sure we can offer something to sate any appetite!"

@Zampano I am invoking my T2 marker. Please vote for OaF,Decimation and Priority two

A brilliant stroke of Businessmanship. Pleasure doing business with you.

With Once and Future, we will finally be free from the ever-looming threat of Ber's Apocryphal interrupt. We've upgraded OaF and can see the effect of [King of Winter], which cost roughly as much as Trinity (albeit with much less narrative buildup and GM hype).

It is certainly easy to argue for focusing on Decimation from a moral standpoint, given the sheer population density of Nilfel. It'll be fun to think about how to rebut the arguments that I made about why it isn't as pressing as the Tyrant!

...I am contractually obligated to vote for Priority Two.

The situation has changed since then! Now, we've made a promise to oppose the Ty- wait, not that one.

...hearing about all that food made Hunger hunger?
...I am contractually obligated to vote for Priority Two.
I didn't think about it that way, I might have to switch my vote now.

Still thinking about what I'm going to vote for, but seeing as we need Arete and I am way too excited about this goddamn project to keep it under wraps, here's some rough sketches I've been doing in preparation for a commission for Orm. More to come, as I want to make sure we have options. Time for a blast to the past!

Bonus, as requested by Addio:

Mostly just surprised you where willing to spend the marker on a Characterization vote, given he was already voting OaF.
But the other 2 votes were the opposite of what he wanted so ...marker invoked. I told him I will wait in the shadows and make him vote for something he dislikes. That is why he was so hesitant to give me a vote, but in his appetite for Tower he finally gave in and gave me 3 markers.

No problem with me.

[X] Into the Breach has won. In a comedy of errors Hunger and Adorie both rolled low, but Hunger slightly higher.
Fucking...lol.

"Seizing victory against difficult odds we didn't need to face" is our central character motif, so it's not really surprising.

[X] All-Defeating Stance + Exalted Spirit

Once and Future is good and worth taking soon, but this is cheaper, finally closes out ADS, and allows us to grab the uncommon Exalted Spirit blood buff, which will hopefully lead to further mental blood buffs, and can be extended to actively buffing companion's mental states. I WANT THIS CAPABILITY AND ITS ADVANCEMENT LINE BADLY.

We're already moving hard sideways in term of capability expansion, so this is a good way to compound the effectiveness of that move. Yes, there's safety in sheer might, and that might makes the action choices safer, but I absolutely do not want to pass up on Exalted Spirit again. This advancement and ones like it was one of the best reasons to choose Into the Breach, despite it's worse chance. If you wanted to keep Hunger's philosophy of rule and build style the same, there was little reason to choose it, so....

If things proceed apace, we'll have OaF relatively soon anyways.

[X] The Long Voyage

Both options keep Aobaru near, but this one seems preferable for Hunger personally. See my vote analysis from last time to get a better general sense of my position, if you care.

[X] The Lord Protector

Hunting a Decimation Target might be preferable to build up more strength if not taking OaF, even including the provision where everyone bugs out and comes with to avoid potential companion death. But my instincts are screaming at me that leaving this for too long will amp up the difficulty of this encounter by more than building up further strength will lower it. Let's catch this fool in a trap with our improved mental stats and then kill him quickly, before we have to deal with any more Foremost Lion Babysitter type fuckery.

I'm flexible on this vote, and can probably be convinced into ADS+ES/Decimator or OaF/Lord Protector.

It was a simple transaction.

I nearly snuck through the vote for "The Long Voyage" without smt noticing that I have a strong opinion about this vote. And now there are only two more chances for him to spite me. That technique is called "curse mitigation... maybe Hunger will try it sometime.

In the meantime, I will happily re-read the blurbs for Empyrean Signs while we wait for our protagonist to get on board the cool spaceships from the Human Sphere!
