While she may be a genocide-prone, bloodmagic-employing, incest-obsessing occasional human sacrificer, I really do think the former Hellfyres definitely won out over the legitmate Qos in getting Daena as their adoptive parent, given the frankly horrific child-rearing practices of Dorne. It does much to explain why they've been so screwed up IC this game.

The legitimate Qos have a fairly normal happy life.

The whoreborn Qos...not so much, but that's mostly their own past trauma preventing them from adapting.

Malal and Talar are irritated that the move just seems to mean they're the Bottom of a completely different crab bucket

When they were on the street they were low enough to escape notice. Now they're not, and still have very little authority over even themselves.

They're children, of course they have zero authority over themselves. And yes, a semi-royal prince does outrank a bastard stray that was taken in, when it comes to servants etc.

They were powerless, susceptible to arrest, prostitution, starvation, rape and worse; they now live in a palace, dress well, eat well, are safe and sound, Malar serving as one of the palace squires, Talar learning with the younger boys, Zhara/Zhana learning with the princesses. My heart weeps.

I think I have the perfect name for the Stark heir.

Morgan Stark has a nice ring to it I think.

Specially with his title. Magnar Morgan Stark.
