The idea for us to 'comfort' her (AKA stay with her in hospital) is a lil bit wasteful. we have our Sensei and Chippu with her, we DID save her from Raidou and stated that we will do that again, and again (and....again...) to prove that we wont leave her behind, and she did feels like she wasn't worthy to have friend (or feels dirty after such revelation? maybe) that comforting her might make her think like she does not worth it even more.
we are not even counting the origin of her bio :
person with such attitude and driven personality dislike pity, no matter how bad the condition is. respect her by tell her we wont leave her no matter what, ONCE (because action talk WAAAAAAAAAY louder than words), start finding any clue about her (and Tenshin Clan in general), and/or make us stronger. Hell, even contacting Danzo and ask for help is way better than just sit down and talk to her while she has Chippu and Genma for her (although asking Hokage is way safer...).
We need to make a progress for Ayane's Intermission quest and sit down with her is a slow way to clear it. we also need to consider the threat of Raidou. I dont know about DoA or Ninja Gaiden but if Missing-Nin with Jounin level are trying to 'splatter our guts' next time we meet him, we better make sure we are ready to answer it.

We can easily cap out our Shunshin next training period, so that big boost to speed (2.7 times faster not counting other boosts we might get) will certainly be helpful. On top of that, we can cap out Buki Arashi making our range abilities rather darn dangerous, via a large swarm of metal if nothing else.

we need more combat oriented skill. buki arashi isnt enough to make Jounin level missing nin think that we are not worth the trouble. irritate him more? probably. last time I check, Raidou is a melee combatan. we are resilient enough, but are we dangerous enough in melee combat?
although maxed buki arashi might give us useful prestige skill later on. perhaps we should contact Guy for quick taijutsu class, pick up any spamable skill or perhaps hinata (or better, hinata father?) for quick taijutsu tips? even better if we pick some melee skil.
we might want to ask our sensei for elemental training and hopefully, kage bunshin. lay all the card to our sensei, we need every help to make us strong, ASAP.

Max Buki Arashi would let us hit as hard (and possibly just as hard, since Buki Arashi is a Active, and stacks Multiplicatively) with each thrown kunai as we would just swinging the Kunai at him (and we are noted to hit rather darn hard).
Plus, if Raido is an expert in Melee, why in the world would we engage him where he's best at?

we have the benefit of first strike from far away, and yet most of the time, any range oriented fighter ended locked in melee range. In this case, either Raidou closing to us fast enough that we are too late to break the engagement and/or no more kunai left to throw.
I dont know, I just think we should have some sort of foolproof plan when things go south. I dont like the idea of us being a punchbag when we are locked melee combat. probably just me thinking too much.

With max shunshin, we would be really good at running away, forcing him to chase us while we pepper him with shuriken.
As for running out, we can easily carry hundreds on us, and recollect thrown ones as we run.
Unless he breaks our stuff as he blocks, I dint see why we wouldn't be able to. All we have to do is loop around to where they landed.

Hum, so I just binged the quest after finding it and I love it. I've never read The Gamer (should get around doing that at some point), but the concept isn't that hard to grasp, so all is good. Hope I can contribute, even if it's only in small ways 
In regards to the current vote, it's kind if a toss up. I do want to increase our relationship with our team, especially with Ayane since I've always liked the character (considering she's an expy from DOA/Ninja Gaiden, this is applicable here too). So the option for staying with her could possibly lead us to forming a better relationship with her and raising her to 'friendly' status, iirc. More interactions with warm and fuzzy feelings are always gud...
However, Genma and Chippu are already there, and I'd rather have her talk with us alone (with the vague idea she'd open more for us?). Also, considering we were the ones who saved her, that should give us a considerable improvement in our relationship with her... once we get her out of her angsty phase.
Maybe, once we know what's going on, we can be the supoortive friend she needs and assure her nothing's changed? She might prefer actions to words, but it still could help.
Quick note for those who commented on it, DOA!Ayane is indeed a bastard (which created the icy relationship she has with Kasumi, her half-sister). Considering Quest!Ayane receives comments of 'cursed child' and such, just like DOA!Ayane, it's safe to assume, DOA!Ayane's past and backstory applies to Quest!Ayane. I'm pretty sure this was stated somewhere on the thread already though...

So, how exactly does the Gamer's Body healing work? Does the secondary chakra system automatically transmit healing chakra to damaged areas, feeding directly on the life force? If that's so, than the whole Gamer system makes a whole lot more sense, with it being a blessing in the form of a amped up HUD, dimensional storage system, and massive set of enhancements possibly powered by natural energy. Taking this idea further, the Gamer system would directly take control of natural energy, and use its healing and strengthening abilities to impose the leveling system, doling out and controlling ever greater amounts of it, bringing the body to steadily higher levels of power. The other half of the leveling system would just be a reliable record keeping system set to keep track of your abilities, with Observe working on others.

So for those who want to go off and speak to the couple, I just want to point out that in the update she mentioned "You shouldn't had risked yourself for someone like me" and immediately afterwards Tetsuo thinks "Now things are starting to get scary with Ayane". If the theory about her being Ayame's daughter via rape is true and she just found out about it then she really needs a friend right now. Back before with the hug that was not necessary, staying behind, hopefully curtailing her issues with Kasumi (again, if the canon is followed) is. And if it's just a matter of working on the Quest, keep in mind that these are the people that deliberately lied that Ayane was "cursed" in order to hide the shame that she was Ayame's daughter via rape. Also we overheard from the guards say that "the clan head has forbidden from speaking it to outsiders", we are unlikely to get anything that way, but hearing about the issue from Ayane herself once we've become friends will probably help our relationship with her.
More than that, prioritizing the Quest which is to find more about Ayane over Ayane herself is kind of putting the cart before the horse.

I mostly agree with you, but Ayane seems like one who wouldn't like one bit pity towards her. We have stated that we would be there for her no matter what because we consider her a friend and the wording itself was pretty strong, too. Moreover, that came after we put our life on the line (in everyone's eyes) for her during the kidnapping.
I'm not sure if she'd even consider telling us about what her parents told her if we stayed, depends if this will draged out for the drama or not. That said, would her parents even tell us? Considering they're a very prestigious clan, I'm guessing something like this isn't exactly shared with the first person who asks. And it would be nice to see a heartwarming with the team or with just Ayane herself...
