A Naruto Mook Quest [The Gamer/Naruto]

I have no idea. I just utterly skimmed over it, so didn't even notice it till you pointed it out. I doubt it means Ninjutsu, considering that that would be a weird thing to label a Ninjutsu as.
Certain ninja arts that doesn't have an element are prefaced with "Ninpou" when being used. It's rare, but I saw it once on the manga.

But I swear I've seen Ninpo in the more Japanese-ism heavy fics as the individual Ninja's code of ethics...
Like Naruto's 'precious people' and 'be a shonen Good Guy' is his Ninpo
The proper term is 'nindou'.

Errm, doesn't Gai have Ninjutsu as well?
Now he have, but when he started he was pretty much pure taijutsu.

-[X] Point out that if Sensei's dead or incapacitated, then enemy Jonin could hunt the rest of them easily, since they are Genin.
^ This, seeing as i was gonna write the exact same thing, basically.

He does. He has the Turtle Summon thing. The only reason he doesn't use Ninjutsu is because of his personality, and how he sympathizes with Lee. So he decided that he won't use Ninjutsu as long as Lee was his student. Or something like that.

Hey, this is a bit off-topic but...
Are the Gates a Ninjutsu technique?

They use Chakra manipulation to unlock the Chakra Networks limiters, rather than Taijutsu and its Network -> Body pulses

Do they use Hand seals to activate? It's been a while since I saw the Chuunin Exams

They don't use handseals and i don't think they count as ninjutsu. Lee can use them, but he barely got enough chakra to live as it is. So if it is a Ninjutsu, then it's the one with the lowest chakra cost.

Fanon fanon fanon.

Lee just sucks at ninjutus and Gai probably doesn't use ninjutsu because his taijutsu is that much better as an alternative.

Well, maybe not that bad, but he is unable to use ninjutsu and genjutsu. And Gai is superior with Taijutsu, he can still use them. It might be fanon that he doesn't use it because of lee, but i have a really strong feeling that it isn't for some reason. But i have been mistaken before, it's not that uncommon.

Gai inherited his father's absolute lack of talent for ninjutsu. His father was a career genin who sacrificed his life using the gates to fight off the Seven swordsmen of the Mist. Which inspired Gai to take his taijutsu to insane levels where he nearly killed sage!Madara by himself while the 5 Kages got stomped out by regular!Madara.

I thought we had to defeat an enemy to gain xp. Does getting your ass kicked to the point its flee or die not count as a defeat? How else would you have recurring boss battles?

well, suikoden series didnt give you exp for any defeated enemy(ies) if you run in the end. same as legend of legaia. you run means no exp for you.

even if we did give a nasty damage to Raidou, we didnt fight him. Genma did. Our encounter to Raidou perhaps counted as 'cut-scene' event instead of actual fight.

an example would be at Suikoden 2's Luca Blight night attack when Flik and Viktor teams are able to make him retreat. When both of them manage to do that (which is very hard and grindy), both of them didnt get any exp. sure, in the end, Luca Blight ran away after MC's team defeat him but at least he acknowledge MC for being stronger than him (or deny the reality).

the point is, there is some sort of requirements (perhaps) In order to count any retreated boss battle as legit victory and give MC exp.

Yes, yes. I know that. I've seen the episodes. Though i wish the fillers would stop. As i was saying, in the one you quoted, he's a badass melee focused fighter, but he is still able to use ninjutsu. That he doesn't do it, just means he can focus on Taijutsu even more. Which is good, because otherwise we wouldn't have the Green Beast

Only D&D gives xp if you rout the enemy, most games needs you to kill the enemy, specially video games.

Except when you're supposed to not win. I'm sitting here, trying to think of some games, but i can't for the life of me remember any. I know there's some, possibly FFVII, but i can't remember when.

When you're not supposed to win you don't get xp either.
That... Is a possibility. Well, it's your gamemechanics, so in the end, we can say what we want. You are their God. If you say don't get XP from that guy, they won't get XP from that guy

Eh, in FF, certain boss battles just requires you to defeat them. You get the XP, and then, BAM, either cutscene getaway or worse, complete turnover.

But those are plot-related ones, I guess. Generic mobs that run away won't net you XP.

But then again, Raidou is kind of related to Ayane, right? So he's like a sidequest boss, related to her character sidequest plotline?

. . . Why am I thinking of balancing the XP system of an arbitrary gaming system of a ninja boyscout's power from a ninja x RPG crossover quest?

Any way back to what is realy important we just downed three chaps around twenty:
*sniff* *sniff*
You guys smell anything?
I smell LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

Off of who? Those ninja we killed earlier? I doubt they have anything particular good. Granted, even normal kunai can be handy, but not so much as to get excited over it since all it's doing is saving us a bit of money, not having to buy it ourselves.

Yes, but we are the Gamer, and it was a battle at a higher level then we previously fought, so there may be loot drops beyond their gear. Always hope for skill books.

The only time there has been loot-drops are off of gamer-created mobs. Real people never dropped anything.
And they were higher level than us. Their armor might be better than ours
Why would their armor be better? Ninja don't really do Armor to begin with, and these guys are mostly bandits so wouldn't even have that much access to good stuff.
