It came from Central Asia and India. And Marijuana is from the same plant that hemp is produced from, which is also cultivated in China for industrial purposes since Ancient...

@kilopi505 Connecting opium and anti-foreigner sentiment is a great idea. What are your thoughts on starting up weapons smuggling through our fishing ports? It would be incredibly profitable, give another way to control the war, and allow us to start building up Shanghai's armed forces.
