A Lion's Pride (Closed Quest / ASOIAF)

Kind of torn here, I don't like the Lion thing, it may get people talking. Although I may just be being paranoid here.

Chasing after him will look good. But, I don't think we can beat this guy. Plus, there is more battle going on, seems like the Brotherhood and their supporters are looking to make a play.

@Mazrick Can we get a better idea of how everyone is positioned? How close are we to the smiling knight and how close are we to the battle and in what direction Tywin/Gerold are in?

Edit: Also, where is the king/Royal family? Can we see people going after them or not?

Jaime is at the end of the lists. Gerold is over Rhaegar's corpse about 30 yards away. Smiling Knight disappeared out of sight at the other end of the lists about 60 yards away. Lord Tywin and King Aerys/Naerys are in the Royal box in the stands. There is no sign of an attack on them. But, the whole situation is turning chaotic.

[X] Gerold is right there in the middle of this. Get your brother out of there. Father has his guards, but Gerold is alone and vulnerable.

Well, since we can't do both (damn it Ilyn, why don't you heal faster!?), it's better for us to look after Gerold. Dozens of other men will be chasing the Smiling Knight, most far better equipped to deal with him then we are, and no one else will think to take care of our brother. Plus, Lannister. Family first.

We couldn't beat the Smiling Knight before and I doubt we can beat him now.

Let's go save our brother.

Sixty yards is a long time to get away, especially with a horse. So with many other fine knights chasing after the Laughing Knight lets look after our brother. We have a chance to make sure our brother is completely safe, no worries over whether or not the chaos will consume him.

# Edit... Although I think that Aerys's canon plan to burn down the forest to find him is gonna need a lot of convincing to not happen right now.

Let the others handle the smiling knight. We need to protect our bro.

Blood before vengeance.

[X] You need to get to father now. He'll know what to do, and how to handle this. He might be a target as well.

I think Gerold will be fine. It makes sense that if this guy wants to cause chaos that he kill a bunch of people in the royal box.

Tywin will be the target here, not Gerold.

The problem I have with going to Tywin, outside the fact that he already has guards, is that going to Tywin (and Ser Barristan) has been our only action when faced with a choice, this would build a mentality within Jaime that he can only do what his father says and not think on his own. I don't want that, Jaime needs to stand on his own two feet and do what he hings is best.

So now Naerys is a widow... Caling it now, the Princess and Laughing Knight are in cahoots.

Remember, Whitelist.

Also, dude if you want to vote just start making post with substance about why you think people should vote for X or Y.

It's not terribly hard.

Like others have said, Tywin is already so well protected that Jaime's unlikely to make a huge difference, and the Smiling Knight is still way too much for Jaime to handle, especially without Ilyn for backup.

[x] The killer is getting away. You can catch him, but you need to go right now!

Priorities. We need to get the person that did this before Aerys starts burning people, and not doing so will look suspicious.

That's a rather dubious conclusion. There was a bedding, right? Naerys best hope the seed took root.

There was a brief pang of regret, but you stifled it at once. She could never have been yours. Perhaps if her older sister had survived to wed Rhaegar in her stead, but alas the gods had different plans.

Really pushing your Targ fetish on us Mazrick.

I bet this was the Princess' plan. I wouldn't put it past her. She's too perfect, though that might just be Mazrick's Targ fetish.

Mazrick Targ's fetish is known fsr and wide. It affects even Ser Barristan. Nevertheless, I don't this is the Princess plot. Something is not rotten on the Kingdom of Denmark, everything is.

There is dirt on Princess, and she may be a witch, but unless she is sleeping with Aerys and plotting with him, there is nothing (that we know) for her to gain with Rhaegars death. People seem to be accusing her to be plotting just for the sake of plotting.

No. Her secret is other. I think Aerys is more likely. He now has a much younger heir, son of a Great House, but important, less independent and dangerous.

No bedding yet. Still at the party stage before that.

What would she gain from his death though? Now she's back to being merely a Princess, whereas as Rhaegar's bride she would have been Queen.

There are more competent people around that can chase after the Knight and why our brother needs more help than our father is explained right there in the vote.

Also, lulz at 'Targ fetish'.

This quest can be really good but damn can you guys be cold for some really silly reasons. And contradictory so. I mean putting the wrath of Tywin on the mother of your firstborn? Seriously why? It's really really silly. I mean Baelor metaphorically patted you on the bat with that.

I mean have you guys even thought about what you're going to say to the boy when he asks where's mommy? I mean sure Tywin approved but that's reason to never go that far. Almost all those extra final Tywin approves moments are psychopathic overkill that get you negative reputation, permanately lose the benefit of the doubt and sets up someone to kick you in the dick over it much later.

I mean didn't you guys just have bit of cold fear over watching that dude you set get burned alive in slow motion?

And didn't you vote to not be all like a lion because that seemed like the asshole choice.

I mean Jaime does seem to have that degree of lord sociopathy and monofocus and the normal Noble in name only type of knighting that alot of ASOIF knights have (see the burning maid because you didn't put out the fire for the sake of trying to treat your friend.)

So question. Why would Gerold not have guards?

And if he doesn't I guess that the Roxton who's family and household you massacred is probably going to try to hit that.

Though you are kinda fresh from the joust and geared up with an actual direction to chase after the dearmed knight.

Umm..

So I think Gerold is safer than the people in the stands because he is not in a crowd at the moment. And he is where a bunch of people are going to rush to the princes aid. If anything I think the princes death serves a dual purpose, sows chaos in the long term as well as giving a good distraction so people can strike at more high value targets. If I were them I'd kill Rhaegar and Aerys to really stir things up. The fighting near the Smiling Knight seems to be intended to cover his escape but also to draw people away from the Royal box.
