He wants to contain it and weaponize it.
And look at how that worked out for Blackwatch with Elizabeth Greene.
I'd like to think it's more Legienstrasse than the Changeling (note: Legienstrasse is pretty much canon 40k Alex Mercer).

But yes. Because it's been centuries since we've last seriously been threatened by Avernus. In this story, I want to read about an actual Avernite enemy we have to fight rather than just "you lost X million troops to attrition" every single turn. Because I'd like to imagine a non-human Avernite army scaled for 40k tabletop battles (I'm thinking it would be similar to Daemons).

Also this.
Looked her up, and this is not making me more interested we have enough issues.

If you want that, go write a Codex, someone did for Avernites.

Remember Elizabeth Greene.

how many ships are hitting again? 10?

also I think ill change my vote to Minimal Targets, just though to bleed the enemy enough to not have enough sacrifices for the ritual to summon the 1st daemon thing.

hmmm sounds like it could happen, just use the bio-warfare on the enemy storm troopers, maybe the sisters will get hurt by it, the space marines I doubt it...

maybe we can use the death-strike missiles when the ships hit, not at the ships though but to thin out the herd so to say.

can we use the berserker gas on them as well to cause chaos in the ranks?

acceptable loss if Dis falls and is unusable for a couple of decades. especially if we can mess with the abomination and get rid of the majority of its materium fleet...as well as forces in this sector.

not that it would matter, just hoping to rolls some good crits on our side, maybe keep the damage limited to the outer wall and force them into a deep, long attrition warfare that we would win in the long run.

we just need to keep the pressure on enough for the enemy to break, but also not summon the daemon who would plunge us into the warp.

[X] Plan Minimal Damage
-[X] Attempt to inflict as much damage on the warships as possible
-[X] Deploy at a long distance- This will ensure that your forces can get to the Battleship well after they land, giving the emeny room to expand but ensure that none of your men are killed by the landing.
-[X] Rely on Regulars- This force should be able to easily handle the enemy stormtroopers and slow down Astartes and Sisters as well as inflict some damage to them. This will make a slight impact on your reserves.
-[X] Keep all of your elites in reserve to counter enemy elites. -This will ensure that you have enough elites to counter the Abomination Elites but will weaken the general defences, allowing the enemy to expand their footholds more easily.
-[X] Psykers
--[X] Trolls will continue reinforcing Dis to minimize damage.
--[X] Both Telekinetic Choirs to reinforce the Void Shields over Dis to reduce damage.
--[X] Lulana and both Daemonology Choirs on full counterspelling.
--[X] Both Biomancer Choirs to support Troops.
--[X] Tamia, both Telepath Choirs and Sirens on Counter-telepathy.
--[X] Ridcully, Xavier and Pyromancer Choir 1 to Scry-and-Fry, targeting enemy psyker choirs.
--[X] 1st Diviner Choir and Pyromancer Choir 2 on Scry-and-Fry, targeting enemy psyker choirs.
-[X] Other
--[X] Trap the areas where the Abomination will crashland.
--[X] Continue EW on Abomination communications.
--[X] Lend Black Crystal Necklace to Tamia.
--[X] If we succeed excessively (Consult Abomination plans), fall back as appropriate so the Abomination does not immediately summon the 1st Circle Angyl.

[X] Plan Unwelcome Reception
-[X] Attempt to inflict as much damage on the warships as possible
-[X] Deploy as close as practical
-[X] Rely on Helltroopers
-[X] Deploy all your elites to the field to prevent enemy breaches.
-[X] Psykers
--[X] Biomancers to buff our troops.
--[X] Xavier and Pyromancers to kill enemies resistant to mundane damage.
--[X] Telekines to support our troops.
--[X] Telepaths, Sirens, and Tamia to defend against enemy telepathy.
--[X] 1st Diviner Choir and Ridcully to divine for ship landing points for first half of the turn. Rest for the second half.
--[X] Daemonologists and Lulana to dispel.
--[X] Primaris Execution Forces to crush concentrated attacks
--[X] Trolls to continue strengthening Dis in preparation for the Crashlanding.
-[X] Other
--[X] Lend the the Black Crystal Necklace to Tamia.
--[X] Quarantine and implement Bio/Chem weapon protocols in the areas where the Abomination crashland/will crashland.
--[X] Electronic warfare on enemy communication.
--[X] If we succeed so much that the point where they decide to summon the First Circle is too close, pull back our troops a bit and allow the enemy to advance.
--[X] Trap the areas where the Abomination will crashland, as well as around them.

-[X] Other
--[X] Quarantine and initiate Chem & Bio weapon protocols in the districts where the Abomination Crashland.

Don't forget about EW.

@Shard, since we're not sending Frederick out to fight, I think we should give the rest of the BCJ to a psyker, Their special effects won't be useful but each piece increases Power and Control by 10%. Xavier can do more damage, Tamia can protect more people, and Ridcully can provide better predictions.

[X] Plan Minimal Damage

As I said.

It's not time yet. Apart from the Necklace, anyway, I'm not sure why we haven't given that one to Tamia or Ophelia permanently.

I'd prefer to keep the BCJ and the sword on Frederick at this time. The enemy elites are going to be pushing towards Lin, which is where Frederick is going to be. He is going to be in combat, likely against an enemy hero given his luck, and each piece of BCJ enhances his combat rolls as well as weakens those corrupted by Chaos.

I don't know what you mean by "it's not time yet". When would be "time"? Our psykers are using their powers so you can argue it's time to use them. It's not like Frederick's using them.

look in psyker research
That's the sheet I was talking about. It doesn't say anything about it boosting mundane stats; only Power and Control.
Research: Black Crystal Items: Headmaster Ridcully spent the year determining as much about the Black Crystal Jewellery as he could using his talents, both as a Psyker and as a Diviner. He was able to determine that the three normal pieces each provide a small boost to a Psykers Power and Control while they are wearing one as well as providing a measure of protection from psychic attacks. He was also able to determine that each of the pieces has its own abilities but not what they are. All that he could determine about the sword is that it is more then a material object and is capable of killing souls.

Black Crystal Items (Ring): After spending a few years of study Primaris Xavier has determined that your Black Crystal Ring provides an effect that seem to be unique to it. This effect can be summed up as providing the wearer with a strong resistance to psychic effects that affect his body, excluding those that come from the wielder or anyone he is in a psychic choir with. This resistance is strongest against biomancy and certain forms of telekinesis as well as the general mutations that exposure to Warp energy can cause. It provides some benefit against most forms of pyromancy and none telepathy. Primaris Xavier strongly suspects that each of the other Black Crystal Items has their own unique benifit and would like to study them in order to determine what they are.

Research: Black Crystal Items (Crown): After spending a few years of study Primaris Xavier has determined that your Black Crystal Crown also provides an effect that seem to be unique to it. This effect can be summed up as providing the wearer with a strong resistance to psychic effects that affect his mind, excluding those that come from the wielder or anyone he is in a psychic choir with. This resistance is strongest against telepathy and certain forms of divination as well as the mental mutations that exposure to Warp energy can cause. Primaris Xavier strongly suspects that each of the other Black Crystal Items has their own unique benefit and would like to study them in order to determine what they are.

Research: Black Crystal Items (Sword): Over the last two years Primaris Xavier has been conducting further research on the Black Crystal Sword that proved to be so deadly in recent years. He tells you that after much study he has found out more about the weird Warp signature that it has. From what he can tell the Black Crystal Sword is in some way identical in the Warp and in reality, a situation that is unheard of. He theorises that it is probably either a real object that somehow gained an identical Warp presence, a prefect vessel for a Warp object or somehow something that exists in both equally. Each of the options is unheard of and would have massive implications if true. The other main discovery that Primaris Xavier, or more accurately Headmaster Ridcully, made over the last few years is that the Black Crystal Sword seems to have been made to kill immortals and is in some manner more effective against them. That would explain why it was so easy to kill the Keeper of Secrets a decade ago.

Research: Black Crystal Items (Necklace): Over the last two year Headmaster Ridcully has been carefully investigating the Black Crystal Necklace that you got off the Siren Queen that you killed over a century ago. He found that the Black Crystal Necklace boosts the ability of the wearer to communicate telepathically and to use telepathic powers, making it very useful for telepaths of all types.
