Giant Wyrm Voters:

1. I'm thinking of putting the 2nd Diviner Choir on helping the Space Battle, w.r.t the Giant Wyrm Trap.

What'd you guys think? They'll be exhausted for next phase, but we'll still have Ridcully/1st Diviner Choir on standby. And those +10s and +5s would probably translate into enemy having rather less reinforcements. (And, fits in with the 1/2/1/2/1 paradigm.)

2. Rotbart can do rather more feints than to simply draw in the 3rd Circle Angyl.. more elites drawn in for the coup-de-grace.

I'm for it, though I'm also for putting them on helping the feint.

Depends what you mean, if by feints you mean set up hidden Helguard to ambush their elites sure, but if by that you mean draw more elites in at the same times as the third circle then I'm not in favour of that.

Plan is already greedy, lets have a sense of proportion.

Off to sleep. 'Night. 2nd Diviner Choir on Void Battle, no other changes.

[X] Plan Giant Wyrm Trap
-[X] General Defence
--[X] Rely entirely on the regulars to hold the outer defences - This will make the walls incredible hard targets to take but will increase the amount of attrition that the heart of your combat power takes .
--[X] Deploy half your elites on the wall and keep half in reserve. -This will leave you with a significant reserve force of elites while reinforcing the walls.
-[X] Titan Defence
--[X] Deploy all of your anti Titan forces against enemy Titans- This gives you a far better chance of stopping any Titan attack at the cost of risking all of your anti-Titan forces, while half of their Titans have yet to arrive.
-[X] Angylic Host
--[X] Deploy (Lulana, Jacob, Jane, Primaris Aria, 2 Primaris Executioner Forces, Last Hunters) to combat Angyl Attacks.
--[X] reserve three quarters of your Battle Psykers for dealing with Angyls - This makes sure that you do not fully strip your main defences of psyker support.
--[X] keep back half of the Hunters to deal with infiltrators
-[X] Psykers
--[X] Tamia and 1st Telepathy Choir on countertelepathy.
--[X] 2nd Telepathy Choir to Hunt for Infiltrators.
--[X] Ridcully and 1st Divination Choir to assist Rotbart with the feint. If feint successful, assist in killing the 3rd Circle ASAP.
--[X] 2nd Divination Choir to assist the Void Battle.
--[X] Sirens to Dominate target Officers selected by Diviners earlier. Time the Dominate to occur at the same time the Magma Wyrm attack happens. (If the 3rd Circle Angyl is committed, prepare to demoralize the Abomination forces, timing it when the 3rd Circle is slain.)
--[X] Trolls to fortify Walls.
--[X] 2nd Telekinetic Choir to defend against Bombardment.
--[X] 1st and 2nd Biomancer Choirs to buff the Magma Wyrms. (If Feint Successful, 2nd Biomancer Choir will buff the forces hitting the Angyl.)
--[X] 1st Daemonology Choir on reserve to counter Angyl Attacks (Focus on the 3rd Angyl if it is committed).
--[X] 2nd Daemonology Choir on general Dispelling duty.
--[X] Xavier and 1st Pyromancer Choir on reserve to Fry Abomination Aces attacking the Walls. (If the 3rd Circle is committed, fry the 3rd Circle Angyl.)
--[X] 2nd Pyromancer, 1st Telekinetic to rest. (If 3rd Circle is Committed, 2nd Pyromancer will join the 1st Pyromancer in frying the 3rd Circle Angyl.)
-[X] Space
--[X] Harass the reinforcement fleet- This will cause some damage to the reinforcement fleet at the cost of some of your surviving light elements
-[X] Other
--[X] Lend Jacob the Black Crystal Sword.
--[X] Lend Tamia the Black Crystal Necklace.
--[X] Lend Jane the Black Crystal Crown.
--[X] Fire LEF Deathstrikes on the Abomination Main Army during the Magma Wyrm attack.
--[X] Fire Deathstrikes at Abomination psykers if the Void Shields are taken down by the Magma Wyrm attack.
--[X] Rotbart will, with Ridcully's help, feign an opening such that the Abomination will commit it's 3rd Circle Angyl to an attack on the walls. Preferably, the 3rd Circle will be committed to the walls just before the Magma Wyrm attack, allowing an opportunity to attack and kill the 3rd Circle Angyl.
---[X] If successful, hit the 3rd Circle Angyl with maximum force to kill it ASAP while it's unsupported.

*Cackling with evil glee.*

Let everyone be reminded that I'm a Tzzeentzch Chaos Psyker.

1. How long can they sustain the Third Circle before it has to snap back to the warp? I'd assume indefinitely since they have plentiful sacrifices and Avernus being so close to the warp?
2. If we only manage to banish the Third rather than kill it, can/will they attempt to re summon it?
3. Is the Angyle anyone we'd recognise (for instance has it taken on the name of an Imperial hero, or is that now how they go about naming themselves?)

[X] Plan Giant Wyrm Trap

I wasn't planning on voting here, but this sounds amazing.

So the plan winning is one that intentionally lets the enemy gain a foothold in our defenses. And of course it is being bandwagon. What happens if we can't drive them off or if they take the lose to the worms just so they can keep the foothold?

While us failing to beat them back is unlikely, all it would mean that we would have to retreat to our second line of defenses. Remember, Avernite cities are basically extremely tough onions covered in ludicrous amount of guns.

Also Rotbart has a trait for crazy situations to happen to him and we are giving away the demon killing sword to Jacob.

4 waves of mostly crap. Fully half of their Titans and a buttload of their psykers are on the ground right now. Those two factors will give us the most trouble out of all their permanent assets, and we also have daemons to worry about.
Back online, took a look at your suggestions and changed some things around.

The 2nd Divination Choir was providing support to the harassment fleet action, rather than the Scry and Fry. I did incorporate the Telekinetic Choir shield.

My thought for infiltrators was to have Ridcully and the 1st Divination Choir do a push for them next turn—with his bonuses it should be enough to do a clean sweep, and I really want to take advantage of the Magma Wyrm attack to do some significant damage to their aces.

I'm resting the 2nd Pyromancy so that they'll be fresh next turn, so that we have some of the our destructive psyker assets fresh then. The second Primaris force I'm holding back as an 'oh shit' card.

But we would should not be fighting to have to drive them off in the first . Time favors us. Trying to be clever will just waste resources.

The abomination is specifically bad at dealing with clever. Also their elites could always make beachheads. We are just suckering them into doing so while they won't be able to reinforce them. It's not perfectly safe, but that's war.

@Shard I suspect one of the ways they will deal with the worms is deathstrike launchers. we might want to look into a way to sabotage that if we can, the longer the wyrms rampage the better.

I don't think we can do AA support, but making any dethstrikes we see priory targets for our artillery might help.

Rotbart's still got the Gov's Own + Ajax + Odysseus and has what 47/46 combat without the sword? With these guys only being about the equal of a Last Hunter I'd give him pretty good odds.

As for being clever, what's clever about them using the Angyel to smash a weak point they create, at least this plan creates one on our terms letting us minimise casualties ect.

Worst case scenario we'll weaken the Angyel and retreat into the city making them fight through that (which is stated to be worse for them than the walls.)

+ They don't care about their casualties, but they still take casualties and they're already down to half of this wave and the next wave has the rest of their elites.

Or the Titans.

Either works for us really, though I get the feeling there's only a limited amount we can do to the launchers given that they are apparently warded.

I mean we could take control of the people launching them...@Shard something to consider.

I think it is bad idea to on purposely create a hole in our defenses just to take out the third level demons when we still got the 1st level to del with. They still have several aces in there hand. Such as more demon summoning and landing a battle barge. Not to consider that any hole will also have a thousand space marines, sister of battle, Demons, and titans possible before the Angels get there.

So what do you propose leave the thing around so it can continue to batter us with mind control and potentially help in the summoning of the first if they need it?

+The space marines don't need a hole, they have drop pods they can go through shields, the Sisters well we have Helguard, Demons we have psykers witch hunters and more, titans again we have several counters and if they do summon the Exalted...

Well I'll just do what was recommended and cross my fingers and let Avernus deal with it.

@Durin
1. You said the Third Circle had no chance against Marcey and our anti demon heroes, what chance would the Exalted have?
2. What chance if we threw in support from Ridcully, Xavier and Tamia?
