Also, my lie is the result of "an exceptionally successful intelligence roll" so I want to make the most of it!

That is foolish logic. Just because something is there, it doesn't mean that it is a good idea to make use of it because it doesn't exist in the vacuum.

Behold after a grueling amount of thinking I have fixed the problems people have with the protect me choice. Bow down to my amazing intellect.

Is it? I think it's only logical to have more than one reason to do something and if you look at the top of the post you quoted, you'll find my other reasons :p

Not generally a fan of write ins and I'd say the roll that led to it decreases the likelihood of it being a trap option.

My lie was in answer to what in our opinion was the motive. Contradictions there are expected but stating, "we're pretty tight" just seems glib.

Also, my lie is the result of "an exceptionally successful intelligence roll" so I want to make the most of it!
But we will have to lie again in great details after that, it might be a little bit painful and doesn't change the fact that Beronica might have said the full truth and us lying will only get us problems.

Except that option is a lie and has a good chance of getting Cervitou in trouble as it is most likely that he told the truth. You are looking at the action in a vacuum whilst ignoring that while we might fool their lie-detection spell, we might still found out if our lie stands out against the truth of what the others have said.

We were told we could easily lie twice and I'm not sure Beronica could say anything to disprove our opinion?

Yeah, not seeing how an opinion can be disproved. Suppose they could have telepathy etc but I'm up for a gamble (not that I believe my vote'll win at this point).

@Birdsie, not sure how to take that, please don't take it as a challenge? o_O:V

Yeah I know your vote is a gamble for Cervitou and the other one is for safety but might not save Cervitou. It's good to think about the others but foremost our priority is Artoria, getting her into troubles is not an option, Yes even for Cervitou... If we did have a guarantee we could get out of the situation unscathed but we are not right now.

I binged the quest yesterday and Cervitou just repeatedly came across as the most sympathetic and masochistic martyr, so I can't help but want to help

I think I may be related to George R.R. Martin without knowing it, because of an idea; before Chapter 10 is over, the fan favorite characters will all be dead, while the villains will drink wine from their skulls and sing merry songs about their deaths.

Yeah... no. I wouldn't do that to you guys.

... Or would I?

I couldn't care less about him personally and he isn't doing it for us but for some sort of redemption or to pay back what he did as a black mage. I think that we should help him (even if isn't doing it for us) to repay him back but not to our detriment. Even if he is bound to be "cool" with us, he wasn't for whatever he did to other people as a black mage but he still the more trustworthy one we will find for our ritual.

Villains are usually my favourites so I'll make that as difficult for you as I can :D

If you want a more pragmatic reason to go the extra mile for him, Cervitou seems emotionally vulnerable enough to be excessive in the name of reciprocity. Wouldn't be surprised if he decided to perform any ritual we want to make up for the pain he caused us to suffer.

Out of character, we have confirmation that two lies are easy to get away with as well as the decision being backed by an extremely successful intelligence roll
XOXO Lucifer's Satan's Advocate

Well we still have until tomorrow noon or more before the update, I will think about it first (pros and cons etc...)

You might want to change your vote to the MARK II since it is better than this one.

Just out of generosity? Of course not and it is not something to bring up in a trial.

No, obviously not now and not for free. I was just thinking about the long game, and where we might find a few leads to start with.

Why don't you politely ask them?

Hmm, it'd have to be indirectly and out of the way, something like:

"Is anybody here an expert in curses? I've been curious about how someone would go about destroying them"

or

"So I've heard that this place is a magnet for strong mages. Who is the best in each field?"

etc.

Oh, and I make my vote for
[X]Plan: Full Honesty Mk. 2

I wonder if removal of the curse will ever be possible. Cervitou fragmented his soul negating it but it'd apparently take archmages 5 decases of soul surgery to remove. Maybe a higher being could do it but probably no one in this court. Guessing it'll have something to do with Lucifer's plot as well.
