[x] Sealed Away. The Four cooperate long enough to seal Malice away. Chaos Gods start nudging large quantities of Orks and similar threats towards you in 5 Turns. Xenos polities have a far higher chance of becoming hostile and/or Chaos corrupted.

[X] Upgraded Malice. While Malice grows stronger, he is merely a peer to the Four, as he has concern over having his existence overtaken by the Darkness he's calling upon. Chaos Four become ChaosFive, with all that implies.

More than anything this just makes me sad. Especially since people who were having fun are leaving.

I regret talking about kingdom hearts lore. Which is depressing in it's own way.

Is this about KH? I feel like if it was crossed over with something more popular people wouldn't care.

Ah don't feel bad, for me it wasn't about the popularity or the lore of the cross over so much as what I felt would be the end game change from it being injected.

Hey guys, please reconsider leaving, or at least vote in this:

Noted, voting for Malice to be upgraded rather than becoming ascendant, as that keeps the long term consequence from the injection whilst not completely over turning the base setting.

So this quest is basically all about throwing the canon setting far off the rails. Thing is, in canon Chaos was a foe that defeated the Imperium at its height of power. Salnus is already rocketing up the ludicrous scale, second only to the Emperor. If you make Chaos as a faction even more powerful that it already is in canon, then I'm afraid the quest will turn into a complete ludicrous-off. What does the scouter say about his power level?

This option gives us an opponent worth facing in the future, keeps him pointed at the other four Chaos Gods while we're still in our proverbial cradle, doesn't result in the crossover overshadowing the main premise, and doesn't introduce a threat even worse and more annoying than Chaos. It has all of my favourite traits!

PLEASE READ THE OPTION DESCRIPTIONS.
NOTE that the option that upgrades Malice does not mention the likelihood of corruption and such increasing the way it SHOULD have, if Malice was ALLIED with the other Chaos Gods! That part of the description is in the Sealed Malice option, in which the Chaos Gods aren't being distracted by Malice, and can focus fully on us, the Emperor and the other threats. CONCLUSION: Upgraded Malice still opposes the other Chaos Gods. The difference between that option and End Game Malice option is that he doesn't devour the others and become the Final Boss. He is "just" their peer, though still their opponent. Otherwise, the corruption frequency would skyrocket, and THAT would be part of the description, just like it is in the Sealed Malice option.

Yeah, I like adding another enemy to contend with, as it will force our enemies to divide their forces as well. Malal as an end boss... I admit I honestly considered it? But I think an upgrade works best. This way, we can have random shadow incursions as much as daemon incursions... and hey! Even if a random roll or omake invokes more KH, we can safely say they would GTFO of our universe, because it'd be practically impossible to find the keyhole on a literally galactic scale and we're handling our shadow war well enough. At best we get some dialogue, maybe one or two more IC potential tech ideas or gifts. No more extensive crossover issues, and everyone's at least placated.

The crossover element was fine as a one of but to make it an integral part of the story now... ? I'm not too fond of the idea.

I feel the above would be what would happen in 40k because it'd only take a certain amount of time for the Darkness to corrupt Malice no matter what he wanted or thought.

Now no matter how this vote ends I hope to god people just accept it even if it means they drop out of the quest because I don't think I could stand another round of to me pointless arguing without getting seriously pissed off.

this is a good compromise- the heartless have become a threat, and kingdom hearts has had influence on the setting- lets not throw that plotline away, but at the same time this is a Warhammer 40k primarch fic, the big bads of Warhammer 30/40k should still be the primary antagonists of this work of fiction, the crossover should be minor, but the heartless (under malal's 'control'), need to still potentially exist to conteract our gaining of the crystals. three crit fails and three crit successes shouldn't end the setting, but at the same time that many crit fails should have a lasting impact. on the otherhand, if it was four crit fails rather than three then malal and therefore the heartless becomming the priary antagonists should maybe make sence.

Mhhh, either upgraded or sealed.

In the one hand, upgrading him would mean he has more influence and thus there are more Malal chaos cultists.

Now, this would probably mean an increase on regular Malal servants and heartless, and while their servants are normally "ok", the same cannot be said about the heartless, and knowing the mentality of Chaos Gods, he doesn't care.

Now, most of his resources would be on screwing up with chaos, and a demon incursion of any kind is bad on its own, but I am not sure if heartless could spread from one world to another (demon/ork hybrid), oh, and that would probably also lead to some other 'everybody vs darkness' moments.

Still, more chaos.

On the other hand, sealing him away, will keep the temporary benefits that we had letting us prepare before Chaos starts doing what it was going to do from the start, which is bad.

Still, no more Malal nor more Heartless (unless somebody starts messing up with those dark crystals), and this is probably the most likely outcome, because of undivided Chaos.

We would probably need to invest more inventions and integration actions on making their way of life better and making a sence of unity and ecuality among all factions of The Bastion.

Which is our current route, only that more difficult 'cus Chaos.

Moral of the story?

Screw Chaos.

So yeah, even if everybody, including Chaos, joining the same side against a common treat sounds good and funny, I think that this has gone a little to far for what was basically crossover shenanigans.

BTW, isn't there a black hole or something that is where Malal got banished according to itehattsd?

This sounds fun. Our Bastion will be tested, and we shall become stronger for it!

upgraded malal is a good compromise. the heartless are a major threat capable of ending multiverses, but at the same time the four chaos gods are no pushovers and malal hasn't gotten time to ramp up yet. this way heartless, the flip side to the coin that is the kingdom hearts intrusion, can remain relevant without ending the setting as we know it- thats our job- we don't want that taken from us,
